Era's sleep was abruptly interrupted for no apparent reason. She jerked awake and looked around, only to find the pillow next to her empty. Oscar wasn't there.

Era rose with a furrowed brow, her gaze fixed on the wall clock. It was already two in the morning and her forehead wrinkled. Was Oscar still working?

Curiosity stirred within Era. The desire to know forced her to get out of bed. She grabbed her pajama robe and pulled it on as she left the room. Her destination was Oscar's workplace.

To be honest, Era didn't want to acknowledge the room not far from her own as Oscar's workspace. From the beginning, the room had resembled more of a library with various types of books, and she often spent time there. However, Aaron had turned the room into a makeshift workspace from the day Oscar moved in. So, she no longer set foot in there.

Era stopped in front of the study. The door wasn't closed properly, creating a small gap that allowed her to peek inside. She looked in and saw Oscar sittin

This wasn't the kind of research Era had ever imagined. When she was a student in her first year, she used to fantasize that research activities would be fun. She would make observations with friends and professors. They would explore nature and discover many amazing things. Well, the reality was just the opposite. She did venture into the forest, but not with friends and professors, but with a young guard, a Beta and an Alpha.Era looked back, then sharply at Seth, Philo and Oscar, who had been following her footsteps all along. A sullen expression had been on her face for half an hour, ever since she entered the Arbora Forest."The situation here is secure. The police have searched for the villains and haven't found them. They must have left. So, you didn't really need to bring your friends here."Era turned to the forest ranger who had accompanied them that day. His name was Noah Anderson. Noah seemed to glance at Seth, Philo and Oscar before he looked back at Era. He grinned."Ah,

Era would not forget those faces. They were still too vivid in her memory; they were the rogues who had attacked her just a few days ago. And her wolf soul immediately spat out curses.Filthy rogues. It turned out that they still had the audacity to come back. They were truly despicable creatures with no brains to think.Exactly, that's what crossed Era's mind. The reason was clear: the area was obviously the territory of a pack. Causing trouble was undoubtedly an irrational action, especially after the warning from the alpha of the pack.Era could not understand it. Why did they return after that incident? Were they really so ignorant of rules and ethics that they didn't think twice about returning?Meanwhile, Seth, who had already felt a premonition before the rogues' arrival, did not want to take any chances. He moved and placed Era behind his body. Without breaking eye contact with the rogues, he asked Era in a low voice, "Were they the ones who attacked you last time?""Yes, they

Era noticed the attack too late. She tried to dodge, but the fourth wolf's attack was faster.Seth arrived just in time. He tackled the fourth wolf, causing its attack on Era to miss. Then he immediately bit the neck of the fourth wolf, right on the wound caused by Era.The fourth wolf howled in pain, but Seth showed no mercy. On the contrary, he made sure to bite deeper, spraying blood everywhere. The growls of the other wolves forced Seth to reluctantly end his attack on the fourth wolf. He let go of the fourth wolf's neck, then jumped to the side to avoid the second wolf's attack on him.Seth's four legs touched the ground firmly. His claws dug into the ground as he leaped toward the wolves that were deliberately targeting Era.It seemed that the rogues could draw conclusions from their fight with Era and Seth, especially since Era was an unsuspecting wolf. Era could not fight like a normal wolf. She might look strong and brave, but she was not dangerous at all.The rogues changed

Philo could sense the restlessness and anxiety emanating from Oscar's expression and gaze. He could understand the cause of Oscar's current anxiety, which was undoubtedly Era.Despite the fact that the police and Madeline had assured them that the current situation was safe and that the rogues had left, Oscar wouldn't be able to relax if Era was far away from him. He would surely feel restless every time Era was out of his sight. So, it was not surprising that he would do anything to be with Era all the time. However, it seemed that Oscar had to suppress his heart's desire for a moment. The factory fire was not a trivial matter that could be ignored. The incident was related to the financial sustainability of the pack. He was fully responsible for the ongoing problem, and even though he realized that Era was his top priority, it did not mean that he could put everything else aside. So, Oscar took several deep breaths. He tried to calm down, but it was in vain. The fear only increased.

Oscar's anger had not abated at all. The heat aura continued to radiate from his body, and the longer it lasted, the hotter the air around him became. In addition, his wolf spirit continued to growl, as if to convince him that this was not over.Oscar turned and saw the seventh rogue, who still seemed to be alive. He stood up and approached the rogue. The seventh rogue's condition was pitiful, but it would never be worth what they had done to Era. There was no mercy in Oscar's eyes as he saw the rogue's breath struggling, appearing short, as if it took a great deal of effort just to breathe. The seventh rogue had broken bones. Worst of all, his spine was shattered, so he could not even crawl away from Oscar, let alone run."Tell me," Oscar said without hesitation. His look was sharp and promised a painful death. "Who sent you?"The rogue tried to open his mouth and move his tongue. He obviously wanted to answer Oscar's question, but his condition made it impossible.Oscar clenched his

As usual, as the sun began to make its presence known on the eastern horizon, Aaron began his rounds of the palace to perform his duties. With firm steps, he inspected every corridor and side of the palace. His eyes, aided by his glasses, scanned carefully. He made sure that every room and corner met the standards of an Alpha's approval.Aaron continued his observation into the kitchen area. Although Oscar had been away from the palace for the past few days, that didn't mean he would neglect such an important matter. He knew that Oscar was an Alpha full of surprises. That was why he always made sure that the meat, vegetables, fruit and milk in the kitchen were fresh. He didn't want the Palace cooks to prepare menus that might provoke Oscar's rage instead of relaxation.During this time, Aaron encountered several Omegas at work. They usually greeted each other, and he didn't hesitate to give a friendly rebuke if an Omega wasn't working seriously. After that, he would move on.Aaron's f

Upon receiving the news from Philo, Landon wasted no time. He immediately assembled his team, making sure to bring his assistant with him. He knew that focusing on the safety of Era and Seth required someone equally competent, and his choice fell on Hazel Elliot.Landon, Hazel, and the rest of the team arrived at the palace about an hour after Philo's call. They quickly made their way to a special room in the Palace designated for all medical activities, including surgery. All the equipment was ready. Landon immediately gave instructions to Hazel, and shortly thereafter there was a commotion."The Alpha has arrived."They rushed out immediately. At the same time, Oscar arrived with Era. He was completely panicked. "Do whatever you have to do, Landon. I don't want anything bad to happen to Era.""Of course, Alpha," Landon nodded with a sense of responsibility. He briefly assessed Era's condition and then ordered his team: "Take Era to the operating room immediately.”The same was true

Oscar's rage knew no bounds. His face hardened, his jaw clenched, and when he spoke, it was as if his mouth could barely open from the overwhelming rage. His eyes blazed like raging fire, radiating an uncontrollable fury. His breath was heavy and his expression was fierce. A searing heat radiated from his body, burning intensely. The air around them quickly became hot. Everyone felt scorched, sweat began to trickle out of their pores, and their skin felt like it was on fire. However, it seemed that those in Oscar's room did not feel the same sensation. They ignored the burning sensation creeping into their bodies. Their focus was distracted by Oscar's unexpected actions. With a firm grip, Oscar grabbed Julie by the neck and lifted her up, leaving her feet dangling above the floor. Ignoring Julie's pleas to be released, he remained unmoved."A-Alpha, please," Julie struggled to say. Her hands tried to pry Oscar's grip from her neck, but to no avail. Oscar's face was hard, reflecting tension and determination. Yet his breathing remained steady, as did his heartbeat. He was in complete control.Only one last fight remained. When the night was over, everything would be settled.A knock at the door pulled Oscar out of his thoughts. He blinked once and turned to see the door open. Philo and the others entered.Oscar said little, just as he had before. He emphasised to Dom and Bogy that the palace had to be guarded to the utmost and that they had to be alert for the worst. They couldn't let their guard down—there could be another pack lurking in the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Then Oscar turned to Philo and Thad. "We're leaving now."With determined strides they moved through the corridors of the palace. They hurried while the helicopter waited on the helipad—its spinning blades creating strong gusts of wind.Oscar boarded the helicopter in a single bound, followed closely by Philo and Thad. The door closed. Never before had time tormented Era so cruelly. Every second had become a dagger that slowly carved into her soul, leaving invisible wounds. Minutes bled into hours in an endless loop, trapping her in a fear that refused to subside. Two nights had passed, each bringing its own terror and uncertainty that held Era in an unforgiving grip. She was desperate, clinging to Oscar's promise in the suffocating silence.Era lay in the dark those nights, her eyes closed, but never really asleep. She stayed awake, unable to surrender to rest as her mind swarmed with worry for Oscar's safety.Sleep was impossible. The only thing Era could do was pretend and wait in the dark for Oscar's return. Now it was the third night. This was the last night, the one that would decide Oscar's fate in a fight to the death.Era sat motionless on the bed, her back pressed against the headboard. A blanket was wrapped around her, but it did nothing to dispel the cold that had settled on her skin. The bedroom door cr

Slowly, Era's consciousness floated to the surface, as if drawn from a dark, formless depth. Her body felt light, as if suspended between dream and reality. Yet something kept trying to hold her back. A heavy sensation enveloped her eyelids, refusing to let her fully awaken.Warmth enveloped Era's entire body. It caressed her, embraced her, almost masking the faint throbbing pain in several places. The sensation was no longer painful enough to make Era wince, but just enough to remind her of everything that had happened. Growls, roars, claws—flashes of memory spun through her mind, pulling her further out of the void.Sounds began to creep into her consciousness. The soft whirring of medical instruments, the steady rhythm of someone's breathing. Then a familiar scent—a mixture of spices and cinnamon—filled her lungs, reminding her of Ursa.Era, wake up.The whisper pierced the depths of her heart, coming from something that had always been with her—the wolf spirit that never left her

The cool morning breeze drifted gracefully in through the wide-open dining room window, carrying the scent of dew mixed with the aroma of herbal tea from a porcelain cup. The diaphanous curtains hanging from the window swayed gently to the unceasing rhythm of the wind.Sunlight crept in, illuminating the long table set with an array of delicious dishes—steaming slices of roasted meat, freshly baked bread with a crisp crust, and a neatly arranged plate of fresh fruit. At the head of the table, Freddy sat leisurely. He had a sharp silver knife in one hand and a fork in the other. He sliced his steak slowly, savouring the sensation of each tender fibre being cut cleanly, but in reality, his mind was elsewhere.Something felt different. Freddy could feel it. The usual serenity of his morning had been replaced by an underlying tension.Freddy’s body tensed instinctively. His knife struck the plate with a little more force than necessary, and his fork trembled slightly at times.A feeling o

The dim light still covered the sky as Oscar stood at the window of his study. His eyes gazed far into the trees swaying in the morning breeze, as did his mind, which had been wandering restlessly. The scent of wood and the early morning dew seeped through the cracks of the window. It should have provided a sense of calm, enough to ease the tension in Oscar's body. Unfortunately, this time it wasn't enough. He needed more than just a beautiful morning to cool the fire raging in his chest—revenge.Oscar's sanity was hanging by a thread. He had never been one for patience, and now his self-control was being tested. The situation was truly against him, threatening to blind him with rage.Oscar’s blood was boiling. Heat radiated from every pore of his skin. His rage had ignited beyond reason, leaving only one desire in his mind—to wipe from this world anyone who would harm Era.Oscar pressed his lips tightly together. His face hardened into a dark, angry red. The veins on his body tensed,

The night was still thick, accompanied by an unusual stillness that felt heavier than ever. The cold grew sharper, seeping into the bones, stained by the scent of damp earth and lingering traces of blood in the air.A thin mist hung low over the ground, weaving between the towering trees on either side of the road. It dulled the senses, obscuring vision until the glow of portable lights flickered to life, illuminating everything without exception. The darkness stirred. The scene once shrouded began to unfold, revealing the grim reality that lay before them.Shattered glass littered the tarmac. Jagged pieces of metal gleamed in the dim light. Era's car lay in the middle of the road in a devastated state—its side crushed beyond recognition, its bonnet shredded and deep claw marks scarring its entire body, silent witnesses to the attack that had taken place hours before.Amidst the wreckage, Bogy and Irene stood with unwavering concentration. Their sharp eyes scanned every detail left at

The silver-white glow of the ceiling lights dimmed automatically, adjusting to the late hour. It created a hushed atmosphere, punctuated only by the low hum of medical equipment. A precious silence, meant to allow exhausted bodies to rest.Unfortunately, Era couldn't rest as she was supposed to. Her body was tired, her bones felt shattered, but the weight on her chest was so heavy that she couldn't bring herself to lie down.Sitting on the hospital bed, Era remained still, a thin blanket draped over her legs. Her back was propped up against a pile of pillows, but there was no sense of comfort. Her fingers lay limp in her lap, revealing the IV line embedded in her left hand.Accompanying Era was Oscar, standing near the window. His back was to her, his sturdy silhouette framed in the dim light. Dressed in a black shirt, he still couldn't hide the tension that wrapped around his body, a clear sign of the turmoil that raged inside him.Era knew that she should say something. She should e

There was nothing Landon could do. When it came to magic, all his medical expertise was completely useless, and Oscar was painfully aware of that. The pallor on Oscar's face grew worse, his expression resembling that of a lifeless corpse. His heart seemed to have stopped and his blood felt as if it had frozen. He was numb, and the only sensation left in him was terror.Magic had never been good for anyone, especially werewolves, and this knowledge was driving Oscar dangerously close to the edge of his sanity. His breathing became erratic, his body trembled and his eyes darted around wildly, as if searching for the answers he desperately needed. The mere thought that Era's life was in danger hit him like an endless storm of despair."Damn you, Freddy. I swear I won't stand idly by," Oscar growled in a deep, threatening voice. Every word he spoke was laced with unmistakable anger. "You will pay dearly for what you've done."For Era's sake, Oscar would do whatever it took to make sure Fr

That was exactly what Era hoped. She didn't want to stay in such a pitiful state for too long. So of course she listened to Landon's advice. She would get plenty of rest and make sure she recovered as quickly as possible. For Oscar, however, things were a little different. Landon's examination was indeed complete, and the results were reassuring—Era wasn't seriously injured and her life wasn't in danger. Still, his vigilance didn't waver in the slightest. So, he turned to Era and said, "Landon's right, Era. If you feel the slightest discomfort, no matter what it is, tell him immediately. Don't even think about keeping it to yourself.""Oscar," Era murmured melodically, rolling her eyes dramatically before continuing. "Maybe it's time for you to calm down. Landon's already examined me." She shook her head, not the least bit surprised by Oscar's overprotective behaviour. "I'm fine and..."Something crossed Era's mind, leaving her words hanging in the air. Her expression changed as well,
