Era thought that leaving Avaluna Village and never seeing Amias again would be the end of all the chaos in her life. But it seemed she was wrong. Fate still enjoyed throwing new chaos her way. New problems appeared, like shadows that promised to follow her endlessly.

At first, these problems didn't bother Era much. Her life experiences had taught her not to be afraid to face problems. She believed that no matter what the problem was, it would eventually come to an end.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the case now. Era realized that the problems she was facing also affected those around her. Amias and Dree were two such examples.

Era didn't want to think negatively, but the worry came unbidden. In the end, she was haunted by one question. What if something bad happens to the people around me?

Era's heart was restless. Her mind was unsettled. Every passing second felt agonizing. She kept hoping that Philo would soon provide the information they needed. But it didn't seem to be that easy for

Dom began to tell a story about the existence of a time portal that could take people back in time. "I've heard about it, but I didn't have any clear information about the existence of this time portal. Supposedly, the time portal was created by the combination of witch and werewolf blood, which once disturbed the stability of natural energy. From the rumors that circulated, there was a pack that once used this time portal to avoid their destruction.""Wow!" Era exclaimed. "I hope this time portal really exists. We might need it one day.""It's just a myth, Luna. Besides, from what I've heard, the portal can only be accessed by those who have a connection to the witch bloodline. Apart from that..." Dom shook his head. "... then it's impossible."Era nodded. She didn't say anything else and let Dom go on telling other stories. She listened to every word Dom said with seriousness, as if she didn't want to miss a single part of his story.Seventy minutes later, Dom took a deep breath. He

"Daniel, how are things? Is everything ready?"Daniel Callahan nodded. "Everything is ready, Alpha. We're ready for your orders.""Good." Teagan took a deep breath. His face hardened, a mixture of tension and determination. Then he turned. "You'll stay by my side, won't you?""Until death, Alpha. I will never leave you."Teagan nodded. Then he approached Daniel. He took both of Daniel's upper arms. "I am deeply grateful to the Moon Goddess. As an Alpha, there's nothing more comforting than having a trustworthy and reliable Beta. And you, Daniel, are not just a beta to me, you are more than that."Daniel felt a wave of emotions that could not be put into words. There was something warming about it, but on the other hand, there was a creeping, chilling fear, like a messenger of unpleasant premonitions."We must have a great celebration after this war."Daniel nodded. "Of course, Alpha."The door opened at the same time. Teagan and Daniel both turned around. They saw Cecilia enter."Ceci

"Prepare the operating room immediately!"Landon Atticus hurriedly ordered the Omegas as he received the news that the battle was over. Xylvaneth had won. Teagan had succeeded in killing Pablo, but not without sacrifice. Many wolves were injured, and among them was the least expected casualty. All the operating rooms were on standby. So were the Omegas, ready for action. They were useless in battle, but they were the ones who would take care of all the battle casualties."Landon!"The call startled Landon. He ran. "Daniel!" Then he saw the figure lying on a stretcher. "Alpha!"Teagan moaned in pain. His arm and chest were wounded, showing a massive rupture."Rescue the Alpha now, Landon."Landon nodded. "I will do my best."Teagan was taken to the operating room immediately. Landon himself led the operation. As he had said before, he would do everything to save Teagan.Meanwhile, outside the operating room, Daniel could only sit with an indescribable sadness. His eyes were red from ho

Ursa took a deep breath as she felt a tightness in her chest, finishing the heartbreaking story she had just shared with Era. She tried to hold back the sadness that she realized hadn't diminished at all, even though days had passed. The pain and sorrow of that day remained deeply etched in her memory.A moment passed and Ursa continued after she had regained her composure. "Since that day, Beta Daniel has temporarily assumed the position of Alpha. He became the interim Alpha until Alpha Oscar was mature enough to become the next Alpha. You could say he was a very happy man to see Alpha Oscar grow up strong and healthy like he is now. He—" Ursa's words stopped abruptly when she saw a tear rolling down Era's cheek. "Luna."Era blinked. She quickly wiped the tear away and tried to smile. "I never imagined that Oscar's life was like this. All this time I thought he was a reckless man who lacked patience."Ursa's sadness found some comfort in Era's remark and she finally smiled. "Alpha ha

There was a moment of silence. Era still didn't speak. She just stroked Oscar's chest from time to time, hoping it would help ease his grief, even if only a little."From that day on, I often wondered. How painful was the grief Papa felt that he really couldn't hold on anymore?" Oscar closed his eyes and shook his head. "But now I won't ask anymore. I don't want my curiosity to push fate and bring about what I fear most."Era's hand stopped moving on Oscar's chest. "Oscar.""I'm not as strong as Papa, Era. You have to know that. I am really nothing compared to Papa. So, if something happened to you, I wouldn't be able to see you in a coffin. I couldn't even bring myself to go to your coffin."Era pulled away from Oscar's embrace. She shifted and sat up slightly to cup Oscar's face. "I haven't thought about sleeping in a coffin. So don't think too far ahead, Oscar."Oscar didn't say anything. He just looked into Era's eyes. Then he felt a peace that was incredibly comforting.Oscar's c

The silence of the night was ominous. Instead of the usual calm, there was a tension in the air that made every muscle tense. There was no peace. No serenity. Comfort and security seemed like distant concepts, forgotten as if they never existed, and the subconscious mind was disturbed by the emergence of anxiety.Era's sleep was disturbed. She tossed and turned in endless restlessness, groaning and writhing, as if trying to free herself from the invisible chains that held her captive.Era became increasingly restless. Her subconscious movements showed genuine concern. Her struggles became uncontrollable, as if racing against the ticking clock that spun time in a thrilling spin. The air grew heavy. The wind stopped blowing. The coolness that had once existed was replaced by a suffocating heat. The temperature rose, creating a heat trap, with gnashing flames igniting into terrifying tongues of fire.Fear loomed. Torment followed. Everything felt overwhelmed by an aura of intimidation th

There were three conclusions Oscar drew after the call ended. First, the situation was getting more complicated. This time, the packs were not just terrorizing the people in Era's life, they had gone further. They dared to kidnap Amias in order to threaten Era.Second, there was a different kind of uneasiness about this particular pack. Oscar could sense that there was something personal in their words, something resembling revenge. The words and tone when his name was mentioned implied as much. It made him think. He tried to guess which pack he was dealing with now, but his mind drew a blank. Besides, he had never been in trouble with other packs before.Oscar held his breath for a moment. He ignored everything as he reached his third conclusion."Whatever happens, I'll never let you go, Era. Especially not alone. Do you understand?"Era closed her eyes. She knew that Oscar was trying to contain his emotions, but she could not help but feel the air around her heating up."Of course,

"Did you take your motion sickness medicine?"Irene turned to see Thad approaching. She decided to postpone her intention to open the car door for a moment. She answered Thad's question with a slight nod. "Of course. I don't want to throw up on the way."Thad grinned at Irene's sullen expression. "Good luck," he said, holding out his hand to open the car door for Irene. "I'll take you to Opulence Bistro for soup."Irene's eyes lit up as Thad mentioned the name of the famous restaurant. She smiled broadly. "I'll hold you to that promise."The short conversation ended there. Then Irene got into the car and Thad closed the door. The car drove off a short time later.Thad waited a moment, at least ten minutes, to make sure he wasn't at a suspicious distance from Irene's car. When he felt that was enough, he put on his helmet, started his motorcycle, and rode off.*Irene clenched her jaw as she gripped the steering wheel. Oscar's face was hard, reflecting tension and determination. Yet his breathing remained steady, as did his heartbeat. He was in complete control.Only one last fight remained. When the night was over, everything would be settled.A knock at the door pulled Oscar out of his thoughts. He blinked once and turned to see the door open. Philo and the others entered.Oscar said little, just as he had before. He emphasised to Dom and Bogy that the palace had to be guarded to the utmost and that they had to be alert for the worst. They couldn't let their guard down—there could be another pack lurking in the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Then Oscar turned to Philo and Thad. "We're leaving now."With determined strides they moved through the corridors of the palace. They hurried while the helicopter waited on the helipad—its spinning blades creating strong gusts of wind.Oscar boarded the helicopter in a single bound, followed closely by Philo and Thad. The door closed. Never before had time tormented Era so cruelly. Every second had become a dagger that slowly carved into her soul, leaving invisible wounds. Minutes bled into hours in an endless loop, trapping her in a fear that refused to subside. Two nights had passed, each bringing its own terror and uncertainty that held Era in an unforgiving grip. She was desperate, clinging to Oscar's promise in the suffocating silence.Era lay in the dark those nights, her eyes closed, but never really asleep. She stayed awake, unable to surrender to rest as her mind swarmed with worry for Oscar's safety.Sleep was impossible. The only thing Era could do was pretend and wait in the dark for Oscar's return. Now it was the third night. This was the last night, the one that would decide Oscar's fate in a fight to the death.Era sat motionless on the bed, her back pressed against the headboard. A blanket was wrapped around her, but it did nothing to dispel the cold that had settled on her skin. The bedroom door cr

Slowly, Era's consciousness floated to the surface, as if drawn from a dark, formless depth. Her body felt light, as if suspended between dream and reality. Yet something kept trying to hold her back. A heavy sensation enveloped her eyelids, refusing to let her fully awaken.Warmth enveloped Era's entire body. It caressed her, embraced her, almost masking the faint throbbing pain in several places. The sensation was no longer painful enough to make Era wince, but just enough to remind her of everything that had happened. Growls, roars, claws—flashes of memory spun through her mind, pulling her further out of the void.Sounds began to creep into her consciousness. The soft whirring of medical instruments, the steady rhythm of someone's breathing. Then a familiar scent—a mixture of spices and cinnamon—filled her lungs, reminding her of Ursa.Era, wake up.The whisper pierced the depths of her heart, coming from something that had always been with her—the wolf spirit that never left her

The cool morning breeze drifted gracefully in through the wide-open dining room window, carrying the scent of dew mixed with the aroma of herbal tea from a porcelain cup. The diaphanous curtains hanging from the window swayed gently to the unceasing rhythm of the wind.Sunlight crept in, illuminating the long table set with an array of delicious dishes—steaming slices of roasted meat, freshly baked bread with a crisp crust, and a neatly arranged plate of fresh fruit. At the head of the table, Freddy sat leisurely. He had a sharp silver knife in one hand and a fork in the other. He sliced his steak slowly, savouring the sensation of each tender fibre being cut cleanly, but in reality, his mind was elsewhere.Something felt different. Freddy could feel it. The usual serenity of his morning had been replaced by an underlying tension.Freddy’s body tensed instinctively. His knife struck the plate with a little more force than necessary, and his fork trembled slightly at times.A feeling o

The dim light still covered the sky as Oscar stood at the window of his study. His eyes gazed far into the trees swaying in the morning breeze, as did his mind, which had been wandering restlessly. The scent of wood and the early morning dew seeped through the cracks of the window. It should have provided a sense of calm, enough to ease the tension in Oscar's body. Unfortunately, this time it wasn't enough. He needed more than just a beautiful morning to cool the fire raging in his chest—revenge.Oscar's sanity was hanging by a thread. He had never been one for patience, and now his self-control was being tested. The situation was truly against him, threatening to blind him with rage.Oscar’s blood was boiling. Heat radiated from every pore of his skin. His rage had ignited beyond reason, leaving only one desire in his mind—to wipe from this world anyone who would harm Era.Oscar pressed his lips tightly together. His face hardened into a dark, angry red. The veins on his body tensed,

The night was still thick, accompanied by an unusual stillness that felt heavier than ever. The cold grew sharper, seeping into the bones, stained by the scent of damp earth and lingering traces of blood in the air.A thin mist hung low over the ground, weaving between the towering trees on either side of the road. It dulled the senses, obscuring vision until the glow of portable lights flickered to life, illuminating everything without exception. The darkness stirred. The scene once shrouded began to unfold, revealing the grim reality that lay before them.Shattered glass littered the tarmac. Jagged pieces of metal gleamed in the dim light. Era's car lay in the middle of the road in a devastated state—its side crushed beyond recognition, its bonnet shredded and deep claw marks scarring its entire body, silent witnesses to the attack that had taken place hours before.Amidst the wreckage, Bogy and Irene stood with unwavering concentration. Their sharp eyes scanned every detail left at

The silver-white glow of the ceiling lights dimmed automatically, adjusting to the late hour. It created a hushed atmosphere, punctuated only by the low hum of medical equipment. A precious silence, meant to allow exhausted bodies to rest.Unfortunately, Era couldn't rest as she was supposed to. Her body was tired, her bones felt shattered, but the weight on her chest was so heavy that she couldn't bring herself to lie down.Sitting on the hospital bed, Era remained still, a thin blanket draped over her legs. Her back was propped up against a pile of pillows, but there was no sense of comfort. Her fingers lay limp in her lap, revealing the IV line embedded in her left hand.Accompanying Era was Oscar, standing near the window. His back was to her, his sturdy silhouette framed in the dim light. Dressed in a black shirt, he still couldn't hide the tension that wrapped around his body, a clear sign of the turmoil that raged inside him.Era knew that she should say something. She should e

There was nothing Landon could do. When it came to magic, all his medical expertise was completely useless, and Oscar was painfully aware of that. The pallor on Oscar's face grew worse, his expression resembling that of a lifeless corpse. His heart seemed to have stopped and his blood felt as if it had frozen. He was numb, and the only sensation left in him was terror.Magic had never been good for anyone, especially werewolves, and this knowledge was driving Oscar dangerously close to the edge of his sanity. His breathing became erratic, his body trembled and his eyes darted around wildly, as if searching for the answers he desperately needed. The mere thought that Era's life was in danger hit him like an endless storm of despair."Damn you, Freddy. I swear I won't stand idly by," Oscar growled in a deep, threatening voice. Every word he spoke was laced with unmistakable anger. "You will pay dearly for what you've done."For Era's sake, Oscar would do whatever it took to make sure Fr

That was exactly what Era hoped. She didn't want to stay in such a pitiful state for too long. So of course she listened to Landon's advice. She would get plenty of rest and make sure she recovered as quickly as possible. For Oscar, however, things were a little different. Landon's examination was indeed complete, and the results were reassuring—Era wasn't seriously injured and her life wasn't in danger. Still, his vigilance didn't waver in the slightest. So, he turned to Era and said, "Landon's right, Era. If you feel the slightest discomfort, no matter what it is, tell him immediately. Don't even think about keeping it to yourself.""Oscar," Era murmured melodically, rolling her eyes dramatically before continuing. "Maybe it's time for you to calm down. Landon's already examined me." She shook her head, not the least bit surprised by Oscar's overprotective behaviour. "I'm fine and..."Something crossed Era's mind, leaving her words hanging in the air. Her expression changed as well,
