Luna
As I stood there, caught in the middle of the tension between Lucas and the woman beside him, I could feel the unease and discomfort creeping up on me. I quickly identified the woman as Lucas's girlfriend, and I knew that her attitude could only mean one thing: trouble.
I decided to take the initiative and break the awkward silence. "Hello, I'm Luna Dawn, the daughter of the Alpha of the Dawn Pack." I held out my hand, hoping to diffuse some of the tension in the air.
The woman looked at me, unimpressed. "Ava," she responded, before turning back to Lucas. I stepped back, realizing she was not in the mood for pleasantries.
I knew she wouldn’t like that I was alone with her boyfriend in such a secluded area, but since it seemed to me like Lucas wasn’t interested in having her find out we were mates, I knew better than to mention my real reason for being here.
When Ava turned to me again, her tone was sharp and somewhat accusatory. "What brings you here, Luna?" she asked, her eyes focused intensely on me.
"I'm here on pack-related affairs, and I would have told you more about it, but it is strictly confidential," I said, trying to keep my voice steady despite the growing tension.
I didn’t want to disrespect her, and I most certainly had no intention of getting into any sort of altercation with her.
She looked skeptical, her eyes narrowing. "Why couldn't you have met Lucas in the official meeting room? Why meet in such a private location since what you had to say involved the pack?" She questioned me, obviously not buying my explanation.
I could feel myself growing increasingly uncomfortable with her line of questioning. I couldn’t remember the last time I was questioned by anyone, including my own parents, and I didn’t like that she was using such a tone with me.
"Well, Miss, I prefer to hold our meetings in a safe and secluded location. It's for the benefit of everyone involved, which is why I proposed we speak away from listening ears," I explained, hoping that would be enough to convince her.
But Ava didn't seem convinced. "No offense, but that sounds suspicious to me. You could have talked anywhere, and yet you chose to speak in a place where no one could easily find you. It’s weird, and I can’t help but be suspicious," she said, her tone accusatory.
I could feel myself growing frustrated with her interrogation, but before I could say anything else, Lucas spoke up. "Ava, please stop with the questioning. Luna is a guest and deserves our respect. You do realize whose daughter she said she was, right?" He chimed in, and even though I didn’t like that he was only just speaking up, I appreciated his timing.
"I don't care who your father is, Lucas. What I care about is that I found my boyfriend with another woman in a secluded area. Does it actually make sense that of all places to talk, you two had to meet here? A place that even I didn't know until now?" Ava spat, her eyes fiercely locked on mine.
If looks could kill, I'd most likely be dead and buried by now, but her glare wasn't what got to me; it was her words.
I felt my blood boil at her words, and if I weren't where I was right now, I'd have most certainly hit her across the face.
The strong urge to yell in her face and tell her that Lucas was my mate was overwhelming, but I knew that would only complicate matters more, and the last thing I wanted was to give her even more reasons to go crazy. Seeing how she reacted just because Lucas and I met outdoors, only away from preying eyes, I could not imagine how she would react if she found out we were mates.
I would even be surprised if she tried to fight, and as entertaining as it would be to have her try to duel with me, I knew it would be wrong for things to take that turn. So instead, I swallowed my words, opting to keep the peace and not let her get the better of me.
"Listen, Ava, I understand why you might be upset, but I am assuring you that you have nothing to worry about. Nothing suspicious happened here. I assure you," I said, my voice steady and measured.
"There is even no reason to suspect anything between Lucas and me. You already saw me leaving, and I haven't been here that long. No offense, but you should learn to trust him more. He is your partner."
Ava scoffed at my words, dismissing my reassurances. "Lady, did I ever mention anything about him cheating on me or that I don't trust him? He is my boyfriend, so I definitely don't think he's cheating on me, Lady. The person I don't trust here is you, and what I think is you're the one trying to seduce him," she said smugly.
Her words made me even more irritated, and I opened my mouth to call her childish, but before I could say anything, Lucas's voice boomed out, startling us both.
"Ava, that's enough! You've said more than enough, and I don't want to hear one more word from you!" he said his tone firm and commanding.
Ava looked hurt that he had yelled at her in front of me, and she opened her mouth to say something, but before she could say a word, Lucas cut her off, instructing her to head to her room. A reaction I was most certainly not expecting from him.
"I'll speak to you when I'm back from escorting her to the border, Ava. Now go," he said, his eyes narrowing in anger.
Ava hung back for a moment, her eyes boring into mine. "If you go with this woman, I swear on everything I hold dear, Lucas, I will never speak to you ever again," she said, and I was taken aback.
I was surprised that she threatened Lucas, going as far as saying she wouldn't speak to him again if he left with me. I was about to tell them both that I was perfectly fine with leaving on my own since I expected Lucas to try to calm her down, but to my surprise, he chose to ignore her.
He suddenly grabbed my wrist firmly, pulling me with him as he strode away from the scene, and I could only watch myself getting pulled away while Ava stood still behind us, obviously just as shocked as I was.
Third-Person Pov As they arrived close to the border gate, the air was tinged with tension as Luna and Lucas stood facing each other. They both seemed lost for the first few minutes before Lucas finally noticed he was still holding Luna's wrist, his grip loosening as he released her gently. "Luna, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to drag you away like that. I know I went a little out of line, but please forgive me," Lucas said, his voice soft and apologetic. Luna looked visibly confused, her eyes searching his face for answers. She wasn't exactly upset that he had dragged her with him because she had wanted nothing more than to be away from the drama, but the fact that he had pulled her out instead of letting her leave on her own and sorting things out with Ava was what confused her. "Why did you do it then? You could've sorted things out with Ava instead of making a scene by taking me with you. I mean, it's already quite clear that she hates my guts, and I think you only made it much wor
Luna I walked into my father's office, trying to keep my expression neutral despite the turmoil in my heart. I had just come back from Lucas's pack, where I had gone to ask his stance on the fact that we were mates, something I only did to please my father. The thought of everything that happened there was still oddly vivid in my mind, and no matter how many times I tried not to think about the turn of events, it still found a way to creep into my mind and ruin my mood even more. Lucas had obviously tried to be polite, but I could instantly tell that he was being distant as well, and I knew right away that we were never going to be more than allies. I've already made up my mind that it’s not going to be a bad idea to forget all of this and move on from it, but regardless, I still couldn’t help but feel nervous. To make things even worse, I still couldn't think of how I was supposed to tell my father that Lucas and I planned on going through the rejection ceremony. He had always
I was sitting outside with my friend, Layla, on a cool evening. The night was clear, with stars that reflected in our eyes as we talked. I was chatting with Layla about everything, which was our daily routine, but no matter how hard I tried to focus on our conversation without thinking of anything else, my thoughts kept drifting back to Lucas. I felt frustrated and sad because of the situation with him, and it seemed like there was no way out of getting myself to stop thinking about him. It was as if he was the only relevant thought in my head at the moment, and even when I tried to tell myself that everything was my wolf's fault, it still didn't make it any less frustrating. Layla noticed my mood and asked, "What's wrong, Luna? You look like you have something on your mind," she pointed out, and I wasn't even surprised that she noticed because it was getting pretty difficult to hide the fact that my thoughts were all over the place. I sighed, "I'm just tired of the situation
Layla and I continued to talk late into the night, discussing possible solutions to the situation with Lucas. We delved deep into our conversation as I expressed my feelings and fears. Layla was calm, listening attentively through it all and coming up with wise suggestions. I felt lighter after talking to her, and my heart felt like a heavy stone had been lifted off it because I had spent all day thinking about the situation and wondering how to stop feeling like I weighted the whole world on my shoulders. We talked about other things, too, things that were not so heavy. We laughed and shared stories about how she had spent her day, and she tried talking about everything she could think of simply because she didn't want me to start thinking about the situation with Lucas again. Everything felt peaceful, and my troubles seemed like they would disappear as soon as I went to bed. While we were lying on the grass with our heads close to each other and still chatting, Layla suddenly sat
Lucas As I entered my room, a sense of unease settled in the pit of my stomach. Today has been a long day for me, and I have tried to avoid going anywhere near my bedroom, even though I knew that avoiding my room wouldn't solve anything. It was time for me to face the inevitable conversation I was bound to have with Ava, and before things got even worse, I needed to speak to her and clarify the whole situation. The fact that I had met Luna in secret had strained our relationship to the point where we both avoided speaking to each other all day, but I needed to clear the air because I could no longer take the silent treatment.I was in the room and noticed Ava sitting by the bed with her back turned to me as she meticulously packed her belongings into a suitcase. Her movements were tense, and the atmosphere in the room was heavy with unspoken tension. I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the confrontation."Hi," I began cautiously, my voice breaking the silence.Ava didn't look u
Lucas I sat by the edge of the bed, my heart in turmoil, as I watched Ava's unconscious form. The weight of the truth I had revealed earlier still hung heavy in the air, mingling with the tension that had been building between us over the last few days. I had hoped that telling Ava the truth would take away, or at least reduce, the strain in our relationship, but seeing Ava like this made me realize just how much she hated to hear that I had already met my mate, and it also made me realize that I needed to think of a way to reassure her of our relationship so she wouldn't jump to the conclusion that she was getting replaced because that would never happen.Gently, I reached out and brushed a lock of hair away from Ava's face, my fingers lingering against her skin. She looked so vulnerable at that moment, and guilt gnawed at my insides because I knew how fragile Ava was, and yet I still made the mistake of hurting her in the worst way possible. I hadn't meant for any of this to happe
Third Person Pov The Grayson Pack was buzzing with activity as Alpha Robles of the Dawn Pack arrived for a visit. It was a crisp autumn afternoon, and the tension in the pack was obvious, as most of the pack members knew that a foreign Alpha visiting unannounced was not a good sign. Lucas stood at the entrance of the pack's main compound, his posture reflecting the respect he held for his guest. Alpha Robles was not just a fellow Alpha; he was a friend of Lucas's late father and a much-valued ally. Lucas had known Alpha Robles ever since he was a little boy, and Alpha Robles was the last person Lucas would think of disrespecting. As Alpha Robles's entourage approached, Lucas extended a warm smile and greeted the visitors. "Alpha Robles, it's an honor to have you here," he said, wearing a genuine smile on his face.Alpha Robles returned the smile, his presence exuding authority and grace. "Alpha Lucas, the pleasure is mine. Your hospitality is always appreciated, and I even feel honor
Luna The air in my father's office was tense as I barged in, my heart pounding with frustration and anger. I couldn't believe he had gone against my wishes, and I was determined to confront him about it. That old man was definitely going to get a piece of my mind."Father," I said sharply, my voice carrying the weight of my anger, "did you visit the Grayson Pack?" I questioned.Alpha Robles looked up from his desk, his expression calm and unsurprised by my abrupt entrance. "Yes, Luna, I did. Any problem?"My hands clenched at my sides, my frustration bubbling to the surface. "How could you, Father? After I specifically asked you not to get involved, Couldn't you have just minded your business?" I asked, wondering why he couldn't just respect my wishes for once.Alpha Robles leaned back in his chair, his gaze steady as he regarded me. "Luna, there's no need for you to barge into my office in such a manner. We can discuss this calmly. I didn't teach you like this," he said, trying to s
Third-Person Pov Luna's return to the Dawn pack was met with a mix of relief and apprehension. She had needed some time away to clear her mind, but the situation with Lucas and Ava still weighed heavily on her. As soon as she entered the pack's territory, she was greeted by the familiar faces and scents of her pack members, a comforting sight after her days away.In the hallway, she was welcomed by her best friend, Layla. Luna's face lit up as she saw Layla waiting for her. Without hesitation, she rushed toward her friend and enveloped her in a tight hug."Layla!" Luna exclaimed, her voice tinged with gratitude. "I've missed you."Layla returned the hug warmly, concern in her eyes as she held her friend. "I've missed you too, Luna," she said softly. "Are you okay? You look like you've been through a lot."Luna sighed, releasing Layla from the embrace, but still holding onto her friend's arms. "I'm trying to be," she confessed, her eyes reflecting the turmoil within. "The situation w
Third-person pov Luna had arrived at the Grayson Pack unannounced, a surprise she had carefully orchestrated to catch Lucas off guard. She wanted to see him, to ensure that their relationship wouldn't crumble under the weight of the news about Ava. Additionally, she had a burning desire to confront Ava directly, to make it clear that Lucas was now with her, and she wasn't about to let him go.The servants, having received prior instructions from Luna, led her through the impressive Grayson Pack territory to Lucas's office. She was a woman on a mission, her heart full of determination and love, as she approached the Alpha's den. The air was charged with a mix of anxiety and anticipation as she reached her destination.Luna raised her hand to knock on the sturdy office door, her heart racing. It was Lucas's voice that invited her in. She turned the doorknob and entered, greeted by the sight of her beloved Lucas. The surprise on his face was unmistakable as their eyes met, and his
Third-person pov Ava sat alone in her dimly lit apartment, her tear-streaked face illuminated by the cold glow of her phone screen. She clutched the device tightly in her trembling hand, while her mother's concerned voice emanated from the other end of the line. Her mother's soft voice broke through the silence, a lifeline in the midst of her emotional storm."What's wrong, my darling? You've been crying nonstop," her mother said, her tone heavy with worry.Amidst sniffling and gasps for air, Ava managed to speak. "You were right, Mom," she choked out. "About the werewolves. I should've listened to you."A heavy sigh echoed through the phone before her mother inquired gently, "Tell me, Ava. What happened? What did Lucas do to hurt you?"Ava's voice quivered as she began to recount her painful ordeal. "Just as you had warned me, Mom, Lucas chose his mate over me. After I came back here to rekindle things between us, he told me that he wanted to end things with me for good. He told me
Third Person PovThe first rays of morning sunlight seeped through the curtains of Luna's room, casting a gentle glow on her face as she lay in peaceful slumber. The room was bathed in a serene, golden hue, a stark contrast to the cacophony of thoughts that had kept her awake late into the night. She was jolted from her dreams as a persistent knock echoed through her bedroom door.Blinking away the remnants of her dreams, Luna's voice was groggy as she called out, "Who's there?"The door cracked open, revealing a servant who stood on the threshold, their eyes respectfully downcast. "Alpha Robles has requested your presence in the dining area for breakfast, Luna," the servant informed her.Luna frowned, puzzled by the unusual request. Her father rarely summoned her to join him for meals, and the fact that he had done so this morning only deepened her confusion. But she knew better than to disregard her father's wishes, and she couldn't afford to incur his displeasure. She sighed and

She had grown up in the pack with a profound sense of isolation, and this unexpected announcement only exacerbated her feelings of displacement. As she closed the door behind her, Luna sank onto her bed, her hands trembling with the intensity of her emotions. The room, once a sanctuary from the chaos of pack life, now felt suffocating, and Luna found herself gasping for air as if the walls were closing in on her.She pressed her palms against her temples, attempting to steady her thoughts. The anger, the resentment, the hurt—they all swirled within her, a tempest threatening to consume her entirely.
