As the night wore on, I excused myself from my father's side, craving a moment of solitude away from the watchful eyes and prying remarks. Stepping onto the balcony, I let the cool night breeze wash over me, hoping it would clear my mind. The stars above shimmered their distant light with a calming presence amidst the chaos of the party below.

Lost in my thoughts, I was startled when someone else joined me on the balcony. Beta Montez was the same man who had questioned my capabilities earlier. His expression seemed different now, devoid of the earlier sarcasm, replaced with something akin to genuine curiosity.

"I didn't mean to offend you back there," he said, his voice surprisingly soft.

I arched an eyebrow, not expecting such a shift in tone. "It takes more than a few condescending remarks to offend me, Beta Montez," I replied, my voice steady.

He nodded, his gaze fixed on the night sky. "Your father speaks highly of you. He sees something in you that many of us fail to recognize

Luna Simply saying I was annoyed would be an understatement to explain how furious I was at the moment. I don't think that I've ever been this upset at any point in my life, and it was so bad to the point where I didn't think I could carry on with whatever was going on at the party. On realising that I was no longer in that state of mind, I quickly left the party hall, and returned to the packhouse. I didn't want anyone to see me leaving, because I knew it was only going to warrant questions, when the last thing I wanted was to have anybody questioning me. After successfully living without anyone spotting me, I made my way to the packhouse, ran into my bedroom, and as soon as I got in, I slam the door behind me, locked the door shut, and burst into tears without even realizing it. I hated the fact that I was starting to feel so frustrated with myself, even going as far as wondering if there was something wrong with me. I couldn't understand how Lucas didn't seem half as both

Lucas could tell by the expression on Luna's face that she was absolutely pissed, but instead of feeling bad about it, he felt even more amused that she was still easily triggered by the word ‘crazy’.He had noticed over the years that Luna didn't like to be called crazy, and he had always found that weird, especially since Luna was what he would describe as the living definition of a crazy woman. Everything about her was crazy to him, and he had expected that by now, she had gotten used to being seen as a crazy woman without getting upset about it. "Did you just call me crazy, or did I happen to hear wrongly?" Luna asked, even though she knew for sure that Lucas had called her crazy. If there was one word she didn't like to hear, it was the exact word he said, and it was taking everything in her not to punch him in the face for using the forbidden word on her. As weird as it was that she was easily triggered by the word ‘crazy’, she still didn’t like to hear anyone call her cra

My father's words hung in the air, a bold declaration of his confidence in my abilities. They were met with a mixture of polite applause and cautious nods from the guests, their thoughts concealed behind veils of politeness. Beta Montez, however, seemed to be growing increasingly uncomfortable with my father's unwavering support. As the evening unfolded, I couldn't help but feel a growing weight on my shoulders. It wasn't the weight of responsibility that burdened me; it was the heavy skepticism of others that weighed me down. The guests' sidelong glances and whispered conversations made it clear that they had reservations about me assuming the Alpha position at such a young age.I excused myself from the main gathering, needing a moment of solitude. Stepping out into the cool night air, I found solace in the moon's soft glow. The night had always been my sanctuary, a place where I could gather my thoughts and find clarity.I took a deep breath, my thoughts racing. I couldn't blame th

Luna Lucas pulled me closer, pressing me firmly against his body. His arms wrapped around me, and as his kiss intensified, I could feel the warmth of his body through the layers of clothes separating us.I was lost; I didn't even realize what was happening until my body reacted involuntarily. It began with a slight tingle beneath my skin, growing into a fire burning deep within my core.My wolf's growl vibrated throughout my body. She demanded I accept Lucas' embrace and let him consume me. My wolf responded with a desperate whine, pleading with me to let go of my self-respect and do something irrational. The heat coursing through my veins threatened to overtake my rationality, and I could feel my control slipping away. The realization dawned on me: I couldn't suppress my feelings much longer. I pushed away from him, breaking the kiss reluctantly, as if the slightest touch would burn me. As soon as my lips parted, the coldness of the night air hit my face, sending shivers down my

Luna Lucas immediately obliged, leaning down and kissing me deeply. One of his hands traveled upward until he found my breast, rubbing soothing circles over the valley of my tits while he took possession of my mouth once more, deepening the kiss and holding me tighter against him as his hand traveled underneath my dress.I moaned softly at his touch, and my body instinctively responded as my hands reached up to grasp his hair firmly in my fist. The next thing I knew, his hand had slipped beneath my dress, his thumb grazing my skin as his warm fingertips pushed aside my panties and grazed my sensitive center. My eyes widened when he touched me, and I involuntarily grabbed his wrist with my other hand, holding it in place."Please," I breathed shakily, my voice shaky with longing as my body arched toward his touch. His fingers continued to stroke me, moving ever so lightly over the folds of my flesh, causing a burning sensation in its wake. My entire body shuddered at his touch as I

Ava's heart raced with anticipation as she made her way back to the Grayson Pack, her footsteps quickening with every familiar landmark that came into view. It had been almost a month since she had last seen Lucas and the prospect of finally reuniting with him after the agonizing separation filled her with excitement. The reason behind her absence had been twofold: to give herself time to process the news of Lucas finding his mate and to come to terms with the reality that their connection had been temporarily severed. She had grappled with the revelation that Lucas had found his true mate, a fact he had chosen not to share with her until a while later. It had stung, but after weeks of soul-searching, Ava had resolved not to let it ruin her relationship with Lucas. Deep down, she couldn't hide her excitement at the prospect of seeing him again. She had missed him, missed the warmth of his smile and the strength of his arms around her. If he had a mate, then so be it. She refuse

"It's not that. I just wasn't expecting you to come around so soon but you know you're always welcome to come back home just as long as you're not here to complain about anything or cause any trouble," he responded and I scoffed. "Oh please Dad, don't be so pathetic! How dare you tell me that I'm only welcome here just as long as I don't cause trouble? Does that mean that if I have something to say, I'm not allowed to say it because it might be a problem for you and your family?" I questioned and he sighed. "I'm begging you, Nicole, don't do this. This isn't the time or the place to try to vent your anger. I can understand why you're upset and believe me, I feel really bad that this had to happen but you have to move past it and move on with your life. There's nothing you can do to change how things have turned out," he said and I could not believe the words coming out of my father's mouth. "You know what Dad, I don't want to talk about this with you because I didn't come here to
