"What did you just say?" I asked again to make sure that I had heard correctly.

"I said, Alpha Hunter, your boyfriend, took away his mate's special privilege, and now the kid has been thrown into the den of wolves to survive on her own," Keisha answered, and I calmly took a step back to process what she just said.

It occurred to me that she just mentioned something about Hunter taking away his mate's privileges, and I knew that the news was supposed to make me happy, but for some reason, I was a lot more bothered by the fact that he had done that.

I couldn't even explain exactly why I was bothered, but something just didn't feel right to me, and I couldn't be completely satisfied that he had only taken away her privilege.

When I found out that she was thrown in prison, I was happy about it because I felt like keeping her in prison would mean that Hunter had no intention of paying attention to her, and I expected him to come to me and explain things to me, but he didn't even in
