Forty - Nine

“My dad!” I answered.

“Come out now, Becca’s dad,” Alexander shouted into the air, looking around as well. Tears built in my eyes because I couldn't hear my mom’s voice except for the faint beat of her heart.

“Come out right now, Fernando!” I barked, my voice breaking at the end for my mother.

“I don't care if you're mate’s father, if I come to find you myself, your heart will be delivered to her.” Alex threatened, I knew he wasn't bluffing.

Under the stair, I didn't realize there was a dark space there until he came out with my mom. Her face was swollen, her mouth tied with a gauze that reeked of wolfsbane and her body had swollen red circles. I sucked in a terrible breath at the sight of my mom before I made my move to go to her when his voice sounded and made me stop on my track.
