Mauris POV Continued.

After the refreshing shower, I couldn't come up with anything. I paced my room, drying my body with a large towel. What do I do? Who can I ask for help? How can I avoid causing any trouble for Yara and Kylie tomorrow? All these questions and more kept ringing in my head. I knew for sure that the council would sniff Yara's mark out the moment she stepped into the room. They would know immediately that Kylie did not mark her and that scenario could turn very ugly in a few seconds.

I needed to protect her, I couldn't let her but I couldn't suffer the same fate as my mother, at the hands of power-hungry Alphas. I thought about it long and hard for what seemed like hours before I made up my mind to talk to my father, he didn't seem like the best option and I would be betraying Kylie but I needed to do this to protect both Kylie and Yara. The only person that had that amount of power to fix this mess and set things right is the Alpha and that's my father, sadly he is K

Kylie's POV.I spent the night with Maggie, I slept by her bed, watching over her, I didn't move from her side till the next morning when she stirred, I sat up immediately, looking at her face to see if she was in pain. The doctor from earlier had not returned and I have heard no news about the test results."Kylie..." She said softly, trying to sit up. Hearing her voice, tore deeper into my heart. I can't believe I had neglected my sister so much."You shouldn't sit up, you should be resting." I cautioned, holding her still."I'm fine Kylie..." She replied, shaking my hands off. "Did you even sleep at all." "Yes I did." I lied with a straight face, I had barely slept at all. I heard noises from the other people in the room. "I aksed the nurse on duty to work the papers and get you changed to a VIP, I don't know what's keeping them so long." I whined."You don't have to do that, I would be leaving now.""What? The doctor hasn't even told us what's wrong yet." "Nothing is wrong, I ju

Kylie released his wolf for the first time since I had arrived at the house."Somebody stop him, he is going to kill him!" Oma screamed but no one moved, no one tried to stop Kylie and it was already too late. Kylie's claws dug into Mauris chest making him scream out loud. I screamed and jumped away from my seat as they rolled towards my direction, Mauris struggled to lift Kylie's paws away from his body but his wolf was indeed large and looked intimidating enough to ward off his enemies."Stand down!" Alpha Theon said sharply, his authoritative voice echoing in the room, it looked like he was talking to Oma. Kylie's POV.The council meeting would have been the perfect opportunity to assert my dominance and prove to everyone that I was the true leader of our pack but then Mauris, Yara and even Oma had betrayed me. It stung to know that Oma would do something like that, she had always been loyal to me no matter what. I stepped out of the elevator, my fists clenched, and my body shaking with anger and disbelief. I couldn't believe what I had just heard and seen. Mauris, my best friend, had marked Yara, the woman I had gone through hell to find, it took me so long to get everything into place and she was soon to become my Luna. How could Mauris do this to me, his brother?I stormed out of the building, pushing people out of my way, I ignored all the greetings and simply shoved my secretary aside when she stepped in front of me. She knew better than to follow me. I needed to get out of there, away from the people who had just betrayed me. I needed to clear my head, to get away from the emoti

Maggie's POV.I was upstairs in my room when I heard the gates buzz open. Mauris car sped into the house. I couldn't see the garage from my room neither could I get a glimpse of who was driving, I left my room immediately and hurried downstairs to find out how the council meeting had gone. The pack doctor, Simon hurried past me, when he recognized that I was the one he went past, he turned around and bowed his head slightly in greetings."Pardon me, I was lost in thought." He apologized."Maybe you thought I was a maid or just didn't see me." I said pouting my lips."How could I possibly think that a maid would be dressed so elaborately." He paused looking me over, I have always know that Simon had the hots for me but didn't want to make a move, afraid of loosing his cherished job in the house. "Please excuse, I have a patient to attend to." He said."Who?" I asked, I didn't know about anyone being ill. It definitely wasn't any of my friends or family because I had seen them all this

Mauris POV.The pain that shot up my body when Kylie dug his fingers into my chest, weakened my entire body at that time, I knew I had lost the battle and felt awful for betraying my friend and dragging Oma and Maggie into this but I didn't regret anything I had done or shared with Yara, she is just too precious to regret. Her presence in the room, gave me the courage I needed to confront Kylie, when she jumped in between us, I had never felt an urge as powerful as the one that enveloped me then, the urge to protect her.I knew my father had tried to trick me into agreeing with him on selling off the agricultural produce or risk exposing my secret to Kylie. The fact that I didn't side with him, made him not interfere in the fight, not like I was expecting his help anyways. When I lost, I felt sad not because of anything else but because I had not been true to myself and to Kylie, he didn't deserve this, he had been talking about taking his throne ever since we first met.
