Darren's POV

I still don't get it. I still don't understand why I can't come with you. Laura's mother and grandmother disagreed, I wasn't too hurt about it, but when Laura rejected my offer, it was like a straight bullet to my heart.

That night, I remember staring at her with disbelief in my eyes, waiting for her to explain, but all she could do was walk out of the room.

That night she had gone to sleep in a different room, I had to go carry her back to the room while she was already deep asleep. I don't understand anymore, we do everything together, why this one? And why the hell was she supporting her mother and grandmother?

I've never been a distraction to her, I'll never be. I just want to be close to my mate.

My eyes stared out the window with my hands intertwined behind me. I really didn't want this, I hate it, it's been a day already, and she's still giving me the cold shoulders. I don't want us to do this, I hate it.

“Alpha Darren, you sent for me?” Karl asked.
