12. Know her place

Bryan was pissed like really pissed.

If only he can find a way to save Aaron and free him from the agony that he was experiencing.

If only he can heal Aaron he would have done that.

He would have gotten rid of this pest a long time ago.

Killed her and ripped her to shreds.

He sat on the table with his head in his hands, all of his ways are blocked. It seemed he needs to find a way to cure Aaron and kill this bitch.

But how?

Till now Bryan had tried everything in his power to help Aaron.

Ashley was in her seat working on the files that Bryan had sent her.

She nearly cried when she saw all the work, it was so much work!

She had her head in her hands as she stared at the files.

If only she had made an effort in her last life.

It’s not like she wasn’t understanding anything, it was just her laziness taking over and she was trying very hard to get rid of it.

She was already feeling sleepy as she stared at the files.

But she cracked her fingers and finally started to work and just when she was finally having a good focus Sophy came near her, “hi Ashley.”

She said as she looked at her and Ashley looked back at her, Ashley was actually crying internally once she heard the disgustingly sweet voice of Sophy.

“What can I do for you Sophy,” she asked and Sophy just gave her a smile.

“I was just wondering if you need any help, I mean all of this must be new for you, and suddenly given so much work, it must be hard for you to handle right? If you want I can help you.”

Ashley sighed, “no thanks Sophy I can handle it.”

“No, I mean… you have never done anything like this before so… I was just worried that you might make a mistake,” she said and Ashley knew that the others were listening.

And Sophy was saying this on purpose, so she folded her hands before her chest and leaned back on the chair as she looked at Sophy and said, “Well, darling who told you that this was the first time I was handling such work?”

Sophy’s smile dimmed and she felt a loss of words, “I had never seen you working before-”

“So you thought that I hadn’t done something like this before, huh? You are pretty judgmental huh.”

“I am not judgmental I just never saw you work so.”

“So you could have asked me, it’s not like you stay with me all the time so how would you know everything about me?”

Sophy clenched her fists and said, “then may I ask when you have handled the office work like this?”

Ashley sighed, “are you forgetting that my mother is a CEO as well? Of course, she has trained me before and given me work.”

Sophy was enraged, “oh really when?”

Ashley smiled, “can’t tell that to you, it was confidential and it should stay in the family. Outsiders can’t be told everything you know.”

Ashley smirked when she saw the face of Sophy, she knew very well that Sophy wanted everything that Ashley ever had.

The alpha title, the company of her mother everything.

Ashley knew that at times Sophy acted like she was the heir and not Ashley but now she has to be out into her place.

She has to know that she will never ever have what Ashley has no matter how hard she tries.

And Ashley said again, “you know what Sophy you can actually do me a favour.”

Sophy looked at her with cold eyes, “what?” she asked.

Ashley smiled and said, “please leave me alone I have lots of work to do.”

Ashley and Sophy actually heard some workers giggling and Sophy was really mad at her. However, she left anyways.

And once she was gone Ashley also got back to work.

“Finally,” she said as she leaned back on the chair with a huge smile and stretched her hands.

She then got up from her place and was about to go to Bryan’s office when she was approached by someone.

She recognized these people as they were from Sophy’s team, which means her mother’s employ.

They looked a little nervous as they reached her but she smiled at them and said, “Hi.”

The four of them smiled as well, and a girl spoke, “hi, my name is Anna and this is Cherry, Mark, and Max. Nice to meet you.”

Ashley smiled at them and said, “Hi my name is Ashley Martin. Nice to meet you all.”

Anna said, “Um… we are all going out for drinks so…um..would you like to come?”

Ashley smiled, if this was in the past she would have said no and told them to get lost.

Her arrogant ass would never hang out with such ‘ordinary people’ but now she has to build her image.

She knew that she had to work a lot for this, so she said, “yeah sure. Why not. But let me just give these files to the boss.”

Anna and the others smiled they were actually shocked that Ashley said yes.

They had heard that Ashley was rude and arrogant and even Sophy had told them that Ashley would just say no.

If they asked her.

Anna was made to ask Ashley to come for drinks with them, as she was given a dare, but she was too cowardly to come alone so she brought the group for moral support.

As she was scared that Ashley might insult her and say get lost.

But Ashley was so kind and soft-spoken. She also smiled at them and agreed to come with them.

This is not what they had expected.

Anna smiled as well and said, “yeah sure. We’ll wait for you.”

“Thank you,” Ashley said as she picked up the files and walked away.
