111. Breakdown

When Ashley came home that day, she saw the light in her mother’s room was open

She slowly walked over there to see if her mother was awake or not.

But when she went inside she saw her mother sitting on a chair and bent over the table sleeping.

Bundles of files and papers around and a bottle of wine in front of her as well which was half empty.

An open laptop and her hand was still holding a pen.

Ashley sighed as she slowly shut the laptop and then took the pen from her hand and then gently carried her mother to bed and then gently made her lie down and slowly covered her up with a sheet.

She then gently sat down beside her and sighed.

She just sat beside her mother for some time before she heard her mother mumble something in her sleep.

“Don’t go… please don’t go… Michael please don’t leave me…. I… I miss you so much.”

Michael was her father’s name and suddenly Ashley’s eyes were filled with tears as she heard her mother calling for her father and knowing that he would never come ba
