Goodbye

POV Gianna:

Lucas, Sierra, Storm, and I stare at each other like a deer staring into the headlights of a car. No one says a word. You could hear a pin drop. Then in walks my brother and his gang of friends.

“Well, well, well what do we have here?” Aaron asks with a wicked grin on his face.

“Mom and dad are going to be so shocked when they find their perfect daughter in a compromising position.”

“What are you doing here Aaron? You never come here, why now?” I spat.

“The pool house was taken over by those damn siblings of yours. I needed a new place for my party. And boy am I surprised at what we have stumbled into” Aaron replies.

Aaron has turned into this nonchalant kid since refusing the title. I get off Lucas’ lap and hand him his shirt. His friends look at me with lustful eyes and I feel disgusted, I just want to run to my room and take a shower. Lucas pulls me behind him and stares at Aaron and his buddies.

“Awe look how the young Beta protects the future Alpha. I bet that’s not all he does.” One of Aaron’s friends’ sneers.

“ENOUGH!”

I bellow in my Alpha tone. No matter if I have a wolf or not, I am still an Alpha and command respect.

“Get the hell out of here if you’re going to disrespect your future Alpha!”

They all cower in fear as my Alpha aura rolls off me. Even Aaron bears his neck to me. Lucas comes up from behind me and grabs my hand. He’s trembling and I feel bad for putting not only the boy I love but also my friends in this position. I control my aura and I can see everyone becoming themselves again. I am still angry though, how dare Aaron come to my safe haven and disrespect me.

“Relax, little sis. I won’t let your secret get out” Aaron winks.

“Right fellas, we just came by to do a little work out and kick back and watch a movie or two. That alright with you?”

I nod and go to my bedroom on the second floor. As I started to undress, I heard a knock at my door. I sigh and go over to answer it, I’m just ready for the day to be over. Aaron is at the door, and I roll my eyes in annoyance.

“What do you want Aaron? Come here to try and blackmail me?” I spat.

“No, I just wanted to make sure you were ok. I have known that Lucas has had a crush on you since we were little. I don’t want him to hurt you. I also wanted to talk to you about a position on your future team. I am not asking for a Beta or Gamma position. I would like to help with the protection of the pack. I feel like there are some changes that need to happen, and we have some spots on the border that are not so secure. I’ve tried to talk to dad about it, but he told me that I would need your permission to speak on future pack matters since you will be the next Alpha. He said he believes the borders are fine and secure.”

“I appreciate you coming to me, and you are being protective. We can talk about the issues of the border with dad in the morning. I am going to take a shower quickly, and I’ll be down there to watch movies with you guys. Make sure it’s not a scary one you know I hate those. I’m glad we are doing this. I felt distant from you lately Aaron and I miss my big brother” I say.

Aaron chuckles. “I know I’ve been trying to figure out what I want to do and finally it clicked. I’m sorry I have been so distant. Now go and take a shower! You stink!” Aaron pinches his nose as if I smell funky.

I laugh and as I head to the bathroom the sirens go off signaling an attack. Panic flashed over me, and Aaron pushed me into my room and told me to stay put. Not having a wolf puts me at a huge disadvantage right now. I need to help my people. Dad mind links me to know what my location is.

“Sweetheart where are you?”

“I’m at the clubhouse. Don’t worry dad Aaron and his friends are here. Storm, Sierra, and Lucas are here as well.” I mind link back.

“Sweetheart I need you to get to the basement of the club house. There is a tunnel to lead you to the pack house get your friends there.” Dad states It is secure and only a high ranked wolf can open it from the outside.

 I rush down the stairs and see two rouges fighting Aaron and his friends. Aaron defeats both and more come into the clubhouse. I look around the room to find my friends. Lucas shielding the girls behind him. What a good future Beta. I shake my head and snap back to reality. I ran over to them and told them we needed to get to the basement. Aaron has three rouges on him and has huge cuts along his arms, and stomach. I froze in that moment not wanting anything to happen to my brother. He looks over his shoulder and screams at me to head for the basement. Then shifts into his wolf.

“Dad get to the club house; they have Aaron surrounded.” I scream through the link.

We are running for our lives, almost at the basement steps when a rouge gets free from my brother and his friends. It is sprinting towards us at lightning speed.

Lucas pushed us faster and we reached the basement door. Sierra and Storm make it in and run. I am suddenly knocked to the ground with tremendous force. Unsure of what happened I try and get up only to realize that there is an invisible force to isn’t allowing me to get up. Lucas is fighting off the rouge and is badly injured. Blood is oozing out quickly and his face is frighteningly pale.

“Dad please hurry, they attacked Lucas, and I can’t move. Something has me trapped to the ground.” I mind link my dad.

I feel a warmth take over my body and I can feel the pressure of the invisible force lifting. I can finally stand. Aaron has defeated the other rouges and runs over to finish off the rouge that is attacking Lucas. Aaron grabs the neck of the rouge and rips his head clean off. Blood sprays everywhere. I was in shock until I heard a loud thud. I look over and sheer panic takes over.

Lucas’ body is lying limply on the floor. I rush over to him and take him in my arms. Tears are pouring out from my eyes.

“Hey beautiful, don’t cry! It’s going to be ok. Just know I will always love you” Lucas says barely above a whisper.

I cried harder and rocked him in my arms. I feel a tingling sensation envelope me.

Everything seems to fade away.

“I don’t want you to die. Please Lucas don’t leave me!” I say sobbing uncontrollably.

With tears sliding down his face, Lucas reaches up to my face and says:

“Gianna, my sweet Alpha, I will always love you”.

I watch as the light disappears in his eyes. I screamed his name, shaking him to come back to me. My father and Beta Tim, Lucas’ father, came running in. My father takes me in his arms as I fight to get back to Lucas. Beta Tim grabs his son in his arms tears pouring down his cheeks for the loss of his son. I cried myself to sleep

that night. I have lost a part of me, and I will never be complete.
