He’s Not There

With my eyes closed, I felt his arms around my shoulders and then he pulled me into his warm embrace. I could feel the hardness of his muscle against my face along with the calm beating of his heart and realized that he must be holding me against his chest. His familiar scent filled my senses and I started to relax.

“Taking slow and deep breaths. Try not to panic, Mila,” he advised calmly.

“Ok…” I murmured before taking a deep breath just as he had instructed.

**Two days later**

The adventurous night of the full moon ended and life in the palace seemed to progress as normal. As for me, the night of the full moon seemed to have lasted for more than just one night. I did not have any recollection of what happened after Prince Leonard comforted me in his arms and I must have fallen asleep. Little did I know that what was supposed to be a nap would last for almost two days.
