Emotional Turmoil

I guessed it wasn’t that surprising that they were not told who the order was from. After all, all they needed to do was follow orders. Even if the prince ordered for them to serve me, it wasn’t like the Madame needed to let them know.

“I see…” I murmured softly while feeling slightly disappointed at not being able to find out the truth.

“Anyways…about you and the prince…” Jessie said before she smiled at me.

The two girls took a few steps towards me, and I found myself backing away like a scared animal that was gradually being backed into a corner.

I let out a small dry laugh when I realized that the moment that I have very much dreaded had finally arrived. The way the girls’ eyes seemed to light ablaze with their curiosity made a nervous knot form in the base of my tummy. I wondered how much I had to tell them until they would be satisfied enough to leave me alone in peace.
