‘No! He is mine!’ Alana jolted in her seat. Shivers ran down her spine, unable to recognize the voice that she heard in her subconscious.
She wound up looking around, trying to find the source of the voice. ‘Is someone connecting with me?’
“Alana? What’s wrong, darling?” Alric asked while putting an arm around her shoulders.
She turned to Alric with a frown on her face, saying, “I don’t know. I thought I heard someone speak to me.” She swung her head and convinced herself, “Maybe I heard wrong. All this mind linking thing is confusing me."
“Alana, you must know that while we can mind link, you can choose not to connect with anyone whom you don’t want to,” Alric explained. She watched as he tapped his head with two fingers and said, “With the strength of your mind.”
She faintly smiled and answered, “Got it.”
“Alric, why don’t you eat up?” Alana and Alric lazily turned to find Geneva, holding up a fork for her
