We spend a few more hours at the village, at first I was a little apprehensive to talk to anyone, but they all seemed really nice. Most kept repeating how they had no idea I was in that house, but always made sure to tell me how strong they thought I was for surviving it all. I also learnt how people were working to track down my mother and Patrick, they told me nobody should get away with what they did to me. Apparently, they have tracked them down a few hours away from here, as soon as they catch them they’ll let me know. I didn’t know what to say about that, I mean yes I want Patrick to have some punishment for the way in which I was treated. But to be hunted down, I’m unsure if they should have to live in fear like I did. I know he was the one which caused me to have that fear, but I wouldn’t wish that feeling on my worst enemy. It was starting to get dark, I had enjoyed myself but I was getting very tired as time ticked by. I was stood beside Axel, he and the mayor were discuss
We soon arrive back to the castle, by the end of the ride I was comfortable being with Axel while he was in wolf form. We enter the castle through the back, but as soon as we walk in, the atmosphere was different. I begin to look around to see if I could catch any signs of what may be happening, but all the butlers and maids were busily getting on with their work. “Something seems off.” I say out loud looking around the building, I don’t know how I was getting these feelings from this place, but something was telling me while we were at the village, something bad had happened. Joey soon rounds the corner, he face holding shock and worry as he clocks us. It was as like he had seen a ghost, his face draining of all colour. I swing my legs over and jump from Axel’s back, the way in which Joey looked only reminded me of the thoughts of suspicion surrounding his involvement with Elliot dying. Axel nudges me before walking around the corner, I think this meant he was shifting back into hu
We were soon leaving the castle and entering the garden, Colby said the best and easiest way to get to the waterfall was through the back. I didn’t really have any idea where we were going, but I trusted Colby would get us there in one piece. I did wonder if I should have left a note for Axel, that way I could explain where I was so he wouldn’t worry. But I didn’t have the time, Colby was worried the storm may be coming quicker than we all think so time really was of the essence. Once we had made it out of the border of the castle, which surprisingly, the guards allowed us through without asking any proper questions. The trek was going to be harder than what I had first anticipated, the little walk slowly slipped into a hike up a huge hill. Colby had to hold my hand as I navigated around huge cliff rocks, I had to keep reminding myself that it was all for the greater good. “Thank you again for helping me Colby, I know you probably don’t want to be climbing this thing.” I say out of
I stare at this man dumbfounded for a few seconds, there is no way that my birth father is really sat in front of me right now. How and why has he just appeared to help me? None of this is making sense to me! The thing which snapped me from my thoughts was another huge clap of thunder, this reminding me of what situation we were in at the moment. I look away from Julian and down to Colby, his eyes remained on me as the people began to go over the different options which we had. They were suggesting that we wrap his leg and once it’s secured, they will carry him to safety. “We need something to wrap around his leg.” One of the men say, I look around in hopes I’d find something when my eyes fall on my jacket. “You can use this.” I say beginning to take my jacket off, this causing me to grow even colder than I was before but I refused to focus on that, I needed to make sure Colby could be taken somewhere safe to get the help that he needed. “No Evermore, you’ll freeze.” He says as I
I remain alone in front of the fire for awhile, my clothes were still very much wet but the fire was certainly, doing it’s job to warm me up. The cave was quiet as I sat lost in thoughts, the only sound that you could hear was the raging storm outside. Colby was having a much deserved rest, but I was still in eyeshot of him if he were to get worried. My thoughts begin to swirl with the many questions that I had for Julian, not only about what he may be and the abilities that he has. But I also have questions surrounding my mother, I’ve always wondered how she used to be before she fell pregnant with me and fell out with Julian. Was she a nice person? Was it Patrick that ended up changing her into the woman that I know? Was it my fault? I won’t deny that I haven’t always had those kinds of thoughts, ever since I was locked in the attic and told I wasn’t allowed to leave, I wondered if it was down to something I had done wrong. “Whenever I sit in front of the fire, my thoughts tend to
I stare at this old man for a few seconds, how is it that everyone here just knows my name? But also, how was it that this man knew what my next question was going to be? I realise that I hadn’t spoken and was just sat there confused for a couple seconds. “How did you know?” I ask that being the only question that came to mind, I was already so surprised on the information I had learnt leading up to this point already. “Since you were born, I have been experiencing visions regarding you.” He smiles which shocks me to the core, so he knew I would have to deal with my mother and Patrick but eventually, find Axel? “Come through here with me, let us talk in a more private manner.” The man smiles moving aside slightly, the cave splitting off and seeming as though it went downhill. I mean yes, I wanted to know what he was talking about, but following a random man down a dark cave like place probably isn’t the best idea! I also didn’t want Colby waking up and seeing I wasn’t there, I owe
I wake up to the sun hitting my eyes, I open them up but have to close them soon after due to the light. After a few seconds, my eyes adjust and I’m able to sit up slightly and look around. The sun had been reflecting from the water of the waterfall, which for the first few short seconds, I forgot where I was. I turn to the side where Colby was sat up, his leg in bandages but he didn’t seem as though he was in very much pain. He was looking at the water splashing on the floor of the cave slightly, by his face you could see his mind was on other things. He soon looks over feeling my eyes on him where he smiles. “Good morning Evermore.” He smiles turning his body around to face me, while his injured leg remained in the same place, I really hope it doesn’t have any permanent damage. “I hope you had a good sleep.” Another voice says from somewhere, I turn to the other side where Julian was walking over with a cup of water for me. “It was very different sleeping here, but I managed to
It takes us around an hour to fully get off the mountain, as the storm had caused the ground to grow soft and slippery, I had to take things slow so I didn’t fall on my face. Once we arrived back, Joey was stood there with his many questions that Axel chose not to answer. He told me to wait in the bedroom while he sort Colby out, where he reassured me he’d be taken to the hospital and not attacked by Axel. I wanted to wait just in case he didn’t stick to his word, but I realise I need to start trusting him more and left. I wait in the room for an hour, but still Axel didn’t show up which once again, worried the heck out of me. I decide to jump in the shower to wash off the mountain mud which littered my body, but also to kill some time while Axel dealt with whatever it was he was dealing with, hopefully not Colby’s fate. Once I was finished in the shower, I towel dry my hair before wrapping another towel around myself and head out into the bedroom to grab some clothes. When I walk
10 months later Toady is finally, the day of my coronation, to the delight of the officials. Our lives have been so incredibly crazy over these past few months, not only having to deal with the investigations swirling around The Dark Secrets Of The Realms book. Which due to the main players in that situation, such as Hannah, Jonathan and the former King and Queen, it wasn’t such an open and closed case. I had to sit and talk for hours with so many officials, they had me go over everything which happened and all the information that I knew! But in doing so, they were able to find where Hannah had buried her mother so she could be laid to rest. She had been in the castle grounds the entire time, under the huge tree they both explained was important to their mother. We had a huge ceremony for his mother which millions of people attended, it was clear that so many people loved Axel’s mother while she was Queen but also after. We also laid Hannah to rest with her parents, I know she made
After a few more moments on the roof, Axel helps me to climb down the ladder which was rather difficult, this ball gown was not made for climbing up and down industrial ladders! The smile on his face from the news I had told him still on his lips, I’m so happy that he’s this ecstatic for us having a baby together. But the smile soon leaves his lips once the official from before walks over, clipboard in hand not looking very happy. “Can somebody please inform me why a number of people are practicing flying from this castle recently, have I somehow missed the invitation?!” He asks clearly very upset over what has happened, I mean there has been four different people meet their end that way. “This is a matter you and I will discuss privately, wait here.” Axel tells the man before turning to me, I smile glad he was going to talk with that man because I wouldn’t have a clue what to say if it were me! Axel smiles placing a kiss on my lips before turning to the man, they both walk to the
Hannah continues to drag me out of the bedroom, at first the empty hallways confused me but I soon remember what I was told from the first ceremony. Everyone was cleared out so there is a clear path for the Queen and the Beta to reach where the coronation will take place, that is a huge problem for me right now. Hannah pulls me right over to the end of a hall to a window at the top of the roof, hang on she’s taking me to the flipping roof! “Climb it.” She growls out at me throwing me into said ladder, I was absolutely terrified so I do exactly what she wants me to. I place my shaky hands on the cold metal of the ladder and begin to climb it, my fear only climbing higher as my body does the same thing. I know I only had this chance to get somebody to help me. “Axel help, Hannah is the person that was helping Jonathan all along. She’s taking me to the roof!” I quickly mind-link him as my head emerges from the window and out into the daylight, this is when I also realise something te
It has been around a week since the event on the balcony, not only the castle but the whole Kingdom taking a hit from what had happened. I haven’t done much else but cry, Colby sacrificed himself to save my life! I didn’t even get to thank him or say goodbye, he was there one minute and gone the next.I know he said he would protect me with his life on multiple different occasions, but never did I believe he would actually have to do something such as that! Axel told me in the moment Colby didn’t hesitate, he heard of what was happening and bolted to my room only leaving the hospital hours before. He mind-linked all of the guards, Joey and Axel explaining his plan. Before anyone had time to talk him out of it, he had ran and tackled Jonathan off the balcony. The saddest part was when I attempted to reach out to his family to break the news, none of them seemed to care even the slightest. They told me he had been estranged from his family for years, some even told me he deserved what
Axel and I had just had dinner together, he still had one last meeting before he could fully be done with his day. I had a clear schedule as always, so I went to the bedroom to start getting ready for the evening. I was laying on my stomach reading a book when the door opens, Hannah walking in sending me a smile as she went. “I hope I’m not intruding.” She smiles hanging by the door for a second, I smile shaking my head placing the book which I was reading on the bedside table. “Joey is in a meeting with Axel but I didn’t feel like being alone, so I thought I’d come see how you’re doing, we haven’t spent much time together lately, with you and your many adventures.” She laughs closing the main door behind her, I laugh as she begins to walk around the room smiling. “Yeah, my life has been anything but calm recently.” I smile as she takes a look outside of the window, this would have been fine if I wasn’t instantly reminded of the vision which I had. “Are my guards still outside, it’s
The next day I was released from the hospital, but was given strict instructions to rest and not fight men in cupboards! Axel took this literally and told me I was to stay in bed until I was back to normal, I was very against this idea now I know who one of the men I have been searching for is. But Axel wasn’t having any of it, he told me this whole search can’t continue without the book which he has hidden anyway. So I was forced to sit in bed all day, but he did head to the library and picked me up a ton of books to read while he had to work. I did really appreciate that gesture, but I would still much rather be finding this guy. I also spoke with my guards and apologised for getting them in trouble, none of them seemed angry at all and told me they understood why I did what I did. I had just read through my third book today, where I place my head against the head board looking out into the distance. The mountain which my dad and his people live catching my attention, I wonder if
A ringing noise fills my hearing, my heart pounding in my chest as I slowly open my eyes. I take a look down at the ground where I discover I’m laying in dry mud, pitch black darkness filling my vision. A woman’s scream filling the area I was in, but I knew what was happening. “Long time no see.” Elliot smiles looking down at me, I roll my eyes as he lifts his hand down to help me stand, I take his offer and get to my feet. “I see you’ve came a long way on this quest of yours, you even found out who you really are.” He smiles as I wipe the dirt from my trousers away, I mean it’s felt like it’s been forever since we’d seen each other, but it’s only been a few weeks. “The man I’m after is Jonathan right, he’s the man which killed you and is after the book.” I say just wanting to get that fact confirmed, I know how quickly this dream or vision normally, lasts with Elliot. “You’re correct that he was the man which killed me, he is also the man which is after the book but, he isn’t work
I spoke with Louise for a few more moments until she had to leave, we briefly spoke about the topic of me still hunting down who killed Elliot. She was overjoyed to hear I hadn’t given up finding who took him away, but she also offered for me to head to Elliot’s home office to see if I can find any clues there. I thanked her and said it was a offer I would take up once Colby is all healed, I know he wouldn’t want me to take anyone else on the secret missions. I was now stood alone in the corridor once again, I didn’t want to rush the guards visiting Colby. This meant my mind had time to wonder, if Hannah and this Jonathan were childhood sweethearts, why did she react the way that she did when we saw him? She acted as though he could blow up in a second, I wonder how he reacted when Hannah and Joey found each other? But what still isn’t making any sense to me is why he would be going after Justin? What would Jonathan want with the book? There are a ton more questions than answers in t
I follow my guards deeper into the castle, we begin to walk down corridors which I had never before. But within a few short moments, I saw the sign for the castle hospital which told me we were going the right way. Jordan walks through the door first to make an initial check, before telling me it was safe to enter. I send him a smile walking through the open door, most of the doctors and patients alike sending me shocked expressions. I soon stop at the front desk, the woman typing eagerly on her computer. She turns to look at me for a second before looking back at what she was doing, but her brain seems to register and her eyes snap to me once again. “Your majesty, I apologise for not helping you sooner. What can I do for you?” She asks in a worried type voice, where I send her a smile to let her know I wasn’t at all mad. “I’m here to see a friend of mine, one of my guards called Colby, I’m sorry I don’t know his last name.” I say knowing how ridiculous that was, how many people he
