Third Person's POV:
He was a beast, a man who demanded respect wherever he went. It felt right, just natural to bow down to him and his authority. No one could challenge him, it was obvious with a single look. He was easily 6'7 and built in muscles. Wearing a white tshirt, that showed off the wide expanse of his chest, it was clear he had been working out for an appropriate time, for it was stuck to his body due to all that sweat, showcasing his six packs. His hand gripped the sword mightily, with the veins on his hands prodding. He was swift. Almost a blur, even to the werewolves. As if carrying that huge athletic body of his was no problem. If you ever managed to get close to him, which was a rare occurrence for many, you could see why the rumours called him "Desired" or the Cupid as the word is known, in Latin. His jawline was an unswerving cut, and his nose stuck up and straight, never failing to give him the proud and arrogant look. Defined cheekbones that made his presence even menacing. There was a stubble on his chin which meant he hadn't shaved for days. Straight jet black hair made him look more dangerous and so did the fact that they never settled down. But the most vicious feature of all were those eyes. They narrowed like slits changing from stormy gray into strikingly blue. One second you'd think a thunder is brewing in them and in a blink of an eye, they would resemble the ice, sending a shock through the body. His POV: "START AGAIN, NOW!" I bark at the soldiers that Chris is busy training. My voice makes them flinch, a common occurrence. Despite my busy schedule, I always made sure to visit the trainings, just to make sure the warriors stayed upbeat. They belonged to the Royal army and if they couldn't manage to handle the harshness, I was more than welcome to throw them out. "Cut them some slack man. These last few days they've been practicing nonstop." Chris came to stand behind me. My chest rumbled. "And have them slacking? No." He shuts his mouth, knowing better than to argue with me. I'm closer to my Beta and Gamma, enough for them to spew nonsense, but they knew when I issued orders and when to obey them. Loyalty came naturally to our kind. No matter who we supported. "Your files await you Lord Hades." My Beta mind links and I decide to go back to my office. "And last but not least, we've received the news that all those who are 18 and above, have completed their forms. Your parents will be checking and shortlisting some of them they think would suit you." My body goes rigid hearing Apollo say that. "Get out." I order in annoyance. Apollo gives me a smirk but bares his neck and leaves. "Oh and don't forget that you have a months time!" He shouts loud enough for everyone in the whole castle to hear. Courtesy of our hearing senses. Rubbing a hand over my stressful face, I lean back on the chair and groan. I fucking hate this. I despised choosing a mate for myself. It felt like a joke when we were actually supposed to have fated mates, not chosen. I'd rather live and rule all alone than have one by my side. Concluding to complete the pending files tomorrow, I decide to pay my parents a visit. "Okay but can we please not put honey on it? Please." I hear my dad begging even before I enter the former Luna and Alpha's wing. "No. What are pancakes without honey." My mother sternly replies. A pause. "OHMYGOD MY BABY IS HERE. WE'RE IN THE KITCHEN!" My mother shouts making both my father and I wince. Being mated with him, she's earned some heightened senses, but she isn't a werewolf. Because she's his chosen mate, not fated. I nod at them and then raise an eyebrow when I notice the kitchen. It's a complete mess, with them covered in flour. "It was your mother's idea." My dad accuses her, but instead of lashing out on him, she gives me a proud smile. "Yeah well it's good to cook once in a while." "Cook. Not explode the kitchen." I mutter but obviously she hears me and gives a glare. "Why are you here anyway young man?" Her eyes narrow. "I'd expect you to be sticking your nose in those files." She's still upset because I missed dinner last week. "I had a meeting mom." I say for the thousandth time. "Yeah? Well, I'm busy too right now so get your ass outta here." She cockily replies. I roll my eyes at her. "You're spending too much time with Apollo." "Atleast he doesn't miss a single dinner." My dad snickers. I can't believe these two raised me. "Apollo told me the forms arrived." I suddenly said, my mouth turning sour at the thought of it. The atmosphere changed immediately. My parents demeanor too,the smiles leaving there faces. We had already discussed this. They knew how I did not support this cause. "Yes." My mother replied sternly. "We did." "Can't we-" "Young man, we will not go into the depth of this again. This is a long tradition of our forefathers-" "You mean a curse." I interrupt. "and no matter what you say, your mother and I will not change it." He continues, ignoring my comment. I clench my fists and my eyes flash in anger, my wolf growling at the disrespect. But he's my dad. And deep inside I know he's right. This is what the moon goddess had said. But that did not mean I liked it. My mother notices my stance and her expression softens. "I know it's hard baby, especially since wolves are known to have fated mates, but we all know the Royal family has never had one since Selene cursed them. Plus I know you'll do well, your father and I didn't get along well in the beginning too. Look at us now." She gave him a big smile. This was supposed to make me feel better but all it did was make it worst. My dad had had a mate out there. His other half. Did he even love my mother like he is supposed to? My mother is a wonderful person, but she could have had someone else out there for her too. How did the both of them come to terms with eachother? I don't think I could ever do that. Yet I knew, I had to. Even if wolves found their mates now, everyone knew the Royals wouldn't. They hadn't since Xander's reign. Everyone knew it was because they were in charge of the humans and their treatment. Leaving the wing without another word,l and my wolf whimpered. It made my heart ache, I would never be able to love someone like I loved my mate. She was the only one I dreamt about. And I pitied the human girl who'd be stuck with me, a beast. I could never belong to her. At that time, all I wished was to be a normal werewolf. My wolf and I had everything; power, fame, money, respect but all I wanted was, A mate.Thalia's POV: "Honey, the university you just completed the form for, will choose if you're fit for being the Alpha King's mate or not." Those words. They seemed to never leave me alone. The talk with my mother had drained all the energy out of me. I had wanted to shout at her,at everyone, kick everything infront of me, wreck those werewolves, but had ended up confiding myself to my room. Mom said I always do it when I have to figure something out. I say it's when I feel shit. And this time? I looked around. My whole room was a mess. It had been since the last two days. Everything lay scattered, including all those precious items in my memory box. I had thought I had planned my life out thoroughly when it turned out to be nothing but a lie and a disgusting one at that. Traitorous tears escaped my eyes unwillingly, even when I tried so hard to not let them. my heart was in pain and it was aching all over and these mental tortures were wrecking my brain and I. I had ac
Thalia's POV: "You're telling me you made up fake information?" Nathan asks me in disbelief. I nod and he mutters a curse. "Are you kidding me Thalia? They'll know!" He points out the obvious. "You sound like Blake." I mutter in annoyance. "Who?" I sigh. "Look, the point is,I know what I'm doing. I didn't write anything that'll be obvious. No factual lies. It's just my preferences and opinions aren't, and I'll be very careful with those. Plus, I'm not going to act like a really good student out there. They'll have to send me home soon." He rubs a hand on his face. "I think she'll do it." Alara's belief in me gives me an ego boost. "I'm just..worried about our families." Hera says, her gaze on Nathan. "Yeah, but we know Thalia isn't stupid. I think she'll do great. Plus, what's done is done so there is no point on blabbering about it unless we want to actually do something." Alara counter argues, though I can see the worry on her face. "I know what I'm doing,I pr
Thalia's POV: I'm back in the bus on time, and gladly none of the teachers notice my absence. But the situation in my bathroom is still forefront in my mind. I clearly remembered having the alpha use his tone on me, yet I spoke everything just like i wanted to. For the most part, I'm still busy processing it, but then it suddenly kicks me. My eyes widen at my own thoughts. I turned to look at Hera, who is reading a book beside me. Unfortunately, Alara is seated up in the front for the whole ride. "Hey, an alpha tone doesnt work on a mate, right?" I whisper in Hera's ear. "Uh yeah? Why?" She whispers back in confusion. My body freezes. It's just for a second, but I feel it deep down in my bones. Hera assesses me weirdly. "Are you okay?" she questions. "Why are you suddenly so pale?" "What if I'm his mate?" I feel like I'm trembling, but I'm not sure if I really am. "Stop trembling and tell me what happened." Hera complains. She looks shaken by my actions but I'm too take
Thalia's POV: "WTU is where every queen has learnt how to rule. It is the the root of our kingdom and a place sacred to us all. That said, consider yourself honoured to stand here today." The voice is as hard as steel and I can't help but think about which alpha is scarier, my city's or this one. But those thoughts don't stop me from scowling. Honoured? Funny. "I am convinced you know the reason why you have your presence here today." Those pale irises scan the room. "The King needs a Queen. Someone to rule by his side. Someone to help lift the burden with him. According to uh..certain complications, the queen has to be from your kind." Complications? Our kind? Can I smack him and get away with it? "I am the Alpha of this city you stand in, Wech and go by the name Zander. For the next whole month, I will provide you all with certain problems and competitions to complete so that we can get to choose the most perfect one of you. He has strictly said to check none of the application." Zain cleared his throat. "Hmm." I muse. Ofcourse he would deny anything related to the Luna Queen trials. "What the hell???" Alara and I mutter at the exact moment the Beta leaves the hall. Today, we have several werewolves, none of them a protector, here. The reason being the purpose of voting. "Who in their sick mind has thought of this. Are we a prize?" Hera speaks, so angry she doesnt even touch her food. "Somehow." Alara replies with an eye roll. I try to control the urge to say that the wolves trying to suppress humans is because of our own faults, but then shrug it off. It wasnt us. The votings were basically these wolves assessing us throughout the day, including outside the classes. Then they'd all fill the poll and on the first day of the second week, girls with the least votes would be opted out. "This just means i have to be mean with every wolf out there." I speak aloud thoughtfully. "Except that you have to be discreet. You were literally awarded thirteen points last time." Alara adds. I give her a look. "Its not my fault she was so smart." "And youre so stupid."

Primal. Masculine. The power radiating of him is so potent that i fight the urge to gag.My gaze locks with shiny black leather loafers. I trail them upwards, coming into contact with a crisp black three piece suit- definitely Brioni- not failing to notice how the outfit looks custom made to fit that huge expanse of a chest and bulging arms, but it's the face i see that makes me gasp.Jet black hair, the same colour as his whole outfit, sit messily on his head. The sharpness of his jawline, the proud look and those slits for eyes.I stand there with my hand in his grasp as his heavy gaze assesses me."Take
Thalia's POV:Our college is a red brick building, large enough to have 15+ classrooms, excluding the staff rooms and offices. The cafeteria is the best place, and the food is great, something that Hera never fails to mention each day.Life here is weird. Either you have no drama for weeks or chaos unfolds very quick. The two most famous cases we had were of the students bullying someone, who later turned out to be a werewolf's adopted kid.It feels surreal to me still, but I don't think the pale faces our college staff had the very next day were a lie.The kid was never seen again but atleast that shit put a stop to the unethical behavior the students had.The second one, which happened last month actually, was when someone decided they were the incarnation of Regina George. The whole college was covered in pictures and gossips. The same person had called me a bitch who deserved to be left in the werewolf territories during the full moon. The time when the wolves take full control a
