Red.

Everything around Rosabel was a red blazing fire.

Her whole pack village was set on fire.

Royal wolves are slaughtering the pack members of the crescent moon pack.

Running through the dense forest, one could see worry and trepidation as she feared being pursued by the beasts who were after her. Heavy breathing and the cries of people behind were the only things Rosabel could hear.

“I need to get the hell out here,” she thought as she bolted into the forest

Her legs began aching since she had been running for so long. She halted for a moment, panting from exhaustion. She had traveled from a long distance, but she couldn't be complacent about the situation as she knew the royal beasts pursuing her could catch her and her life would come to an end if it happens.

Even so, she thought it was not bad to stop running for a while.

She held onto a tree nearby for support and leaned against it to breathe.

Bruises and wounds covered her body and she felt as if her energy to keep going was depleting. She assumed that all her efforts to escape from this attack would go in vain if she felt weak at this moment.

Suddenly she stumbled onto and fell down, “Ah,” She yelled in pain as she hit the ground.

She glanced back and hurriedly returned to her feet, ignoring the pain. She didn’t mind the thorns and sharp rocks she stepped on.

“Listen to me, Carefully Rosabel,” her adopted father, Alrick said while grabbing her shoulders.

“You know where we keep our boat, use it and escape,” He said, looking into her eyes,

“Bu-but…” She interrupted him,

“No, save yourself, Rose,” he said with tears in his eyes,

For the first time in her life, she saw tears in the eyes of this cruel man.

“Remember who you are and never let anyone know about it,” He said, “Promise me,”

She stared at the man in front of her eyes and almost couldn’t recognise him, “I promise,”

The promise she made to her father back at her home which is now burning under fire, rushed to her mind and tears streamed down her eyes. She never thought her father would tell her to save herself after what he had been doing to her all these years.

All her life, her father had physically abused her. After her mother died protecting her, he turned into a monster and kept blaming her for her death. There was not a day that went by without him beating and verbally abusing her.

She tried thousands of times to escape from his brutal abuse but she couldn’t. Every single time she tried, the promise she made to her mother flashed in front of her eyes, making her go back to that devil.

Being an omega and pack’s punching bag, Rosabell had a troubled life.

As she made it to the boat, she glanced back and saw wolves running behind her, she quickly got onto it and began using the paddle. she used all her strength from getting out of the place, watching her escape, the wolves went back and continued their attack.

The sounds of Ocean waves reached her ears, making peace with her inner storm. Her breathing was unstable as she glanced at those burning houses. Tears were streaming down her eyes as her heart clenched inside her chest.

“I’m so sorry,” She mumbled while covering her face, sobbing uncontrollably.

Watching everyone dying in front of her eyes was the worst curse and it burned her insides for leaving everyone to die and escaping for her life. That was the most selfish thing she had ever done in the 20 years of her life.

She couldn’t do anything other than crying her eyes out and pray to the moon goddess to save those people and stop the war.

The darkness of the sky soon welcomed her, in the middle of the Ocean, surrounded by nothing but the water that made her sacred. Running the whole day had drained her energy, and her stomach was growling in hunger. Soon she began slipping into darkness.

***

Travelling through a vast ocean, Sitting on his seat, King Zander was watching the quiet night and cool breeze of the Ocean.

“Your highness, there’s a call from the beta,” Gamma Vilkas approached Zander,

“What is it?” He asked,

“They cleared the north Crescent moon pack,” Vilkas said,

“Good, Tell him we will be there soon,” He replied calmly.

Two more to go? Azazel, Zander’s wolf said.

Yeah, He replied,

I’m excited, Zander could sense the evil smirk of Azazel and shook his head.

Zander had been discussing the problems which were raised through the north side lately, there was a rumour that witches are taking shelter and also using wolves for their dirty works. Crescent Moon pack is one of them, Zander ordered to clear the pack before he arrived.

Alpha King of Blood moon pack, Zander Blackwood is a real monster, since royal blood is running in his veins, his wolf is much larger than any other alpha. He’s short-tempered and an absolute beast. His killings are merciless and cruel. His primitive ways are barbaric. As an Alpha Superior amongst only a council of few others like him, he is a powerful pure-blooded.

His cruelty makes him the most feared Alpha king, his enemies prefer dying before getting caught by him. Some say he rips the hearts of his victims and places them in his room of possessions. The winds carry the tales of his barbaric attacks which is enough to strike fear in anyone’s heart.

His reputation is the reason why no alpha ever stood in his way.

“Your highness, There’s a problem,” Vilkas rushed toward Zander,

“What happened?” Zander growled for disturbing his peaceful time.

“This way….” Vilkas took him the outside of his chamber,

As he walked out of his chamber, he smelled something. The sweet kind of smell which is quite different and alluring filled his nostrils and pulled him towards him. His legs automatically moved to it, and walking hurriedly he reached its location.

His blue eyes widened as he saw a woman, lying on the floor of his ship, unconscious and her clothes drenched in water.

Mate.

Grammatical minefield and this was just the first chapter. I’m nervous this is not going to be a relaxing read and be a brain cramp instead.

Azazel pushed at him but Zander didn’t let him take control. “We found her alone in the boat, unconscious,” Vilkas informed, “Looks like she’s escaping from someone,” he added. Azazel growled inside as Zander carried her to the bedroom. Touching her skin gave his wolf all kinds of pleasure and he wanted to claim her right then and there. Settle down, Azazel! Zander growled, trying to control his wolf. Take her! Azazel growled back, No, Zander replied but his wolf tried to take control of his body which Zander didn’t let him do. Laying her on the bed carefully, Zander stepped back and stared at her in disbelief. He’s confused, he never wanted a mate but now, looking at his soulmate, he didn’t understand what he should do with her. She’s the epitome of feminine beauty, Zander couldn’t take his eyes off her face which screamed of innocence. Her long black hair and hourglass figure, soft skin. Azazel kept whining about not claiming her but Zander ignored him completely. He obser

At that moment, Rose sent a silent prayer to the moon goddess, praying to save her from this savage beast. Even though Rose felt the sparks from his touch, also finding him handsome, she couldn’t ignore this energy around him, the Dominance which was oozing from him made the hair on her body stand up. Something about him kicked her survival instincts and told her one thing which is to run for her life. His cold blue eyes were fixed on her, he let his eyes travel down her neck and the rest of her body. His eyes nor his face ever once conveyed any kind of emotion. She felt as if he was looking at a perfect prey to slaughter. “What’s your name,” He asked in his deep voice, each word enunciated clearly. The lack of emotion in his voice only fueled her fear. She was trembling in his arms, scared of what he might do to her. Don’t be scared, He’s our mate, Kalea spoke in her head, her tone hinted the fear she tried to hide. Her instincts too warned her about the danger of this man.

She could feel herself slowly waking up, her forehead kept pounding and a groan escaped her lips. She opened her eyes which made the pounding worse. She sat up while pressing her fingers over her forehead trying to ease the ache. She closed her eyes and tried to stop the spinning of her head, and when she opened her eyes, her heart stalls. Her eyes landed on the dead body laying on the floor, the one who alpha killed. Everything that happened earlier rushed back to her mind. She quickly got up from the bed and made her way outside the room. As she stepped out, she noticed everyone on the ship hurriedly moving around. She didn’t understand what was happening and looked around. Looks like they are preparing something, Kalea said. Suddenly, she felt the ship stop and the captain said they reached their destination. She turned and accidentally bumped into the Alpha King. As her eyes met him, she immediately stepped back and apologized. “I’m sorry, Your highness,” She felt her hea

There stood Alpha Adam with an angry look on his face. Looking at him, Rose gulped hard in fear, she stepped back and her legs shook. He pushed her inside and shut the door, before she could step away from him his hand wrapped around her throat in an instant and the air was ripped from her lungs. “You knew didn’t you?” he growled, She couldn’t speak but she shook her head violently. I don’t know. “Liar, You are fucking liar!!” Alpha Adam kneed her in the stomach and her vision grew blurry from the lack of air. He let her go but towered over her. “You told him, didn't you?” “N-No, Alpha… I didn’t say anything…” She replied with tears running down her cheeks, “Don’t lie,” He yelled while slapping across her cheek, “Listen to carefully, You bitch,” He grabbed her jaw and pulled her to him, “You will reject him or…” “Or what?” The most beautiful scent filled her nostrils before she even saw him approach. Alpha Adam immediately let go off her jaw and turned around. H

Her damn back hurts. But other than that she could feel quite comfortable and felt something heavy on her. It provided her with a lot of warmth, almost reminding her of fire, but she felt she could gladly burn in it. Whatever this was, it didn't hurt her but surrounded her like a second skin. Strange It made her feel warm and sent all kinds of fussiness on the inside of her body. Her heart kept beating slowly, calmly. She could feel this warmth run all over her, on her arms, on her face. A shiver ran down her spine. Her eyes snapped open and met with a pair of blue eyes looking back at her. Her Mate. King Zander was hovering over her. For the first time after they met, Rose calmly looked at him and took all his features in without being scared of him. King Zander was gorgeous in all senses, his jet black hair was combed back with a few loose strands falling over his forehead. Black trimmed eyebrows arched at the corners, thick long black eyelashes cast a shadow over deep-se

Everyone was getting ready to leave, Rose was escorted along with King Zander. She took all her luggage from her room and loaded them in the car. She stared at the village she lived in all her life, even though she had bad memories of it. Her emotions were all over, she couldn’t understand whether she should be happy about living in this hell hole or sad. She didn’t know how the future awaits her at Blood moon pack and what would King Zander do with her. She didn’t understand why Alpha Adam had lied and trapped her but the way King Zander spoke to her made her scared. Why is fate so cruel to me? She questioned with tears rolling in her eyes. She always dreamed of her mate, that he would come and save her but here, she was being taken to the Blood moon pack and her future depended on the hands of her very mate. King Zander. By the time they reached the King’s Palace, it was late at night. King Zander glanced at his peacefully sleeping mate and decided not to wake her up. He g

Everything around Rose stilled, “This can’t be happening,” “This can’t be,” Rose glanced at the witches, tears-filled eyes staring at them with hope shining in them. “They-they are alive, ri-right?” Her heart kept slamming against the ribcage and the news shook her entire self. Her mind kept denying the information she received and she couldn’t understand how to react to it. “No, sadly they are not, I’m sorry,” one of the witches responded. She had never met her parents and didn’t even know their names until now but she kept living with the hope that she would find them. She will meet them someday, and when she does, she will ask them all those questions she wants to ask. Learning that she could never meet them shattered her dreams and the little hope she had. Rose was on her toes, watching the witches curiously as they kept chanting spells while closing their eyes and pressing their fingers on her blood. She folded her hands over her chest and kept waiting. Her anticipation was killing her. You waited to know about them for this long, just wait for a little longer. Kateia said. I’m waiting, I just couldn't contain my fear. I hope they’re fine. Don’t worry, just stay calm until they find out where they are. Okay? Okay. Rose replied. Suddenly the door of the room burst open and the two bodies flew across the room and hit the wall opposite them. Rose gasped and stepped back in horror as she stared at the guards lying on the floor. Groaning in pain, their bodies were lying in a pool of their own blood. A loud growl echoed through the room, it was so feral and animalistic that Rose immediately turned to the source. When her eyes landed on the person strolling into the room with so much raw power, she stilled. Zander? He was pissed off

“You are telling me that Lucinda, my mother took something from you before she went missing and you need to find it?” Rose repeated his responses, trying to understand the real motive behind this. She wanted to know why her mother went missing. And What happened to her family but she pressed her lips together. “We don’t have much time, Rosabel, We need to find your mother as soon as possible,” Suspicion coiled around Rose. There was strange whispering in the cave of the door and it was covered with dense fog, not allowing anyone or anything to enter the cave.“We have been trying to go inside for two days, but we are failing, Alpha, the longer we stay in the fog, the less we are able to breathe in there, it’s so dense that we can hardly see anything up ahead of us,” Gamma Stephen said through the phone.Zander was on the edge of losing it, after so many days of searching for the door and when he could reach it he never thought he would face trouble again. It frustrated him. Why is it so hard to open that damn door? He has to find a way to open it or he could never recover what he lost years ago. “We think it’s the witches' doing,” Stephan informed, “Care to explain,” Stephan turned the camera and showed a dead snake and animal bones lying in a corner used in witchcraft.
