"She has to be" I said in a firm voice while discussing with Charles. We were talking about the ceremony and how hospitable everyone has been including Princess Gwendolyn.

"Proud?" Charles asked and I nodded.

"Yes, the other princess has to be very proud or full of herself not to at least be at the lunch with us on the day we arrived." I stated, almost annoyed that I hadn't seen her or know what she looks like and how bored I was getting having no one to tour me during the day.

"You can't be so sure. It is possible she is busy with the preparations, I agree she didn't welcome us as she was supposed to like her sister but it's a big palace you know, she could be anywhere and might have seen you without you knowing it." He explained with so much certainty in his voice.

"I'm beginning to get bored, that's why it's getting to me." I sighed, "However, she is none of my business."

"Hmmm, why then did you send for me?" He asked and I brought my hand over my face, blowing hot ai

Henrietta "Ha...ve you not cr…" her words got interrupted by a hard cough which left her lips in a dry torturous manner as her head bopped repeatedly on the pillow. A gasp escaped my lips as terror shot through my spine. I was unable to do anything, I just stood there staring at her in fear until something snapped inside of me and I hurried to her side. I was going to snake my arm under her neck after sitting next to her but she grabbed my hand and brought it to her chest instead. "Are you okay, mother?" I asked, sniffing back the tears and she nodded with a bright smile on her face. "Shh, don't cry anymore," She whispered, bringing my hand to her lips and brushing her lips lightly over it. "But yo…" "You have soaked my feet with so much tears already, I won't need to clean them anymore." She chuckled before leaving my hand on her chest and stretching her right hand towards my face. She rubbed her palm over my face and tucked the loose strands of hair which covered my face, beh

Richard The hall which had been well decorated for the ball was well illuminated with lots of candles and lamps. It was so bright that everyone's dress shone even brighter than it would in daylight. The ball was about to begin and everyone was present. Father, Charles and Marta had their gifts right beside them waiting to be presented to the King. I was dressed in the neat dark blue suit which Charles had personally picked for me, I had the ancient dagger which I planned on gifting to my mate in its pocket, while waiting in anticipation for the arrival of not just the royal family but my mate. After waiting for about half an hour for their expected grand entry, the music which filled the room changed from the orchestral notes to ceremonious rhythm, making known the entry of the King. Everyone rose to their feet, wearing smiles on their faces while bowing slightly as the king walked past them. I watched the way the crown on his head sat elegantly, while his red robe followed his

Henrietta What! Did he just speak? I turned to see the face of the man whom I had just expressed the pain which I had held within me all through the day. For a moment, I felt I was going to explode if I didn't speak to someone about it and felt he was unable to hear me. I had just said everything to a stranger, a commoner, I fear. But he was the man that always appeared in my dreams, almost every now and then. There should be more to this than I can see. "You have no idea what you're talking about," I retorted, a bid to act like I hadn't said enough for a night. He took two steps towards me and inasmuch as I wanted to take the exact same steps back, I didn't. I couldn't find it in me to go away from him. He sighed, "I know exactly what I'm talking about, Princess Henrietta, I have seen and heard everything you said and even that which your sister says as well." He said in a firm voice and my shoulder sagged. Shaking my head in regret, I heaved deeply before raising my eyes to him

Richard "Friends?" Charles yelled in disbelief after I told him everything that happened between me and Henrietta. I was sad, very sad and so was Grey. "I'm not supposed to pounce on her like some brute and mark her, am I?" I shouted in frustration, stretching myself in the chair in my father's room while we waited for him to return from the palace. We both arrived about twenty minutes after he left and the servant who was assigned by King Kenneth to be at his service informed us that he had gone to have breakfast with the King and would be back in an hour. We didn't want to take any chances because we might leave to come back later only to meet his absence. This was the first time we would be meeting him together since we arrived in Odyssey and the reason behind this meeting is very urgent. "I know you're not supposed to but, who asks their mates to be their friend, when they are well aware she's their mate?" He queried, pacing the room. "You talk like you pounced on Marta the s

Henrietta Last night seemed to have passed a lot faster than the previous nights. It was as if the stranger or rather, 'Prince Richard' as he called himself had influenced not only time but my senses as well. Thoughts of him clouded my mind, leaving me awestruck, confused but with a tingling feeling of excitement yet, I was scared; scared of what I could only imagine but never have, especially in this realm where I was out of place. "What am I even thinking? He is a Prince," I reminded myself, turning on the bed so that I was laying flat on my back while staring at the thick green sheet that was placed over my bed to decorate it but in all honesty, I was not really looking at it my vision was blurry and the item of focus was very present but not visible to me anymore. "He's an Alpha, Henrietta!" I half-yelled, "a soon-to-be king who would most definitely need a strong woman for a queen, someone to match his charisma and the amount of power he possesses." I reminded myself, a fail

Richard This can't be happening, not now. Not after how long I've waited to get to her, to finally see her, to feel her, to let my wolf let loose and yearn for her. Father can’t do this to me, especially not now. Not at the expense of my happiness, my future and my peace, her safety and that of Odyssey. If only he knew the kind of woman this princess whom he speaks so highly of actually is and how desperate she can be, to what extent she can go just to get the throne. "This shouldn't be happening," I yelled, pulling my hair with my fingers. “I’m afraid it’s already happening.” Someone said from outside my room but I didn't turn as the voice was very familiar to be confused for someone else’s. “What do you want?” I snapped, without looking at whom the voice belonged to. She was here to either mock or rub it in my face but what was the difference? Absolutely nothing! Getting married to Gwendolyn was the same as spending forever with Nemiueh or worse. “Nothing, I have never wanted

HenriettaIt was evening and the fierce sun in Odyssey was beginning to set, soothing wind graced my skin causing me to adjust the robe around my arm to protect myself from the cold and raised my finger to my eyes to brush off the particles of dust that had been pushed in by the wind.“I can't wait to get to the garden, at least I would be able to get a moment's peace from all of this drama.” I muttered under my breath. Richard I was waiting restlessly in my room for Martas’ return. She has been out since noon to meet with Henrietta and speak to her on my behalf and even though I was against it from the moment she suggested it, Charles made me give in. “What is taking her so long?” I complained, asking for the hundredth time in a row as I paced my room, continuously looking out of the door to see if she was close but she wasnt and each time I checked, there's always someone coming but then, it is not her and it pisses me off even more. “Relax,” Charles said in a mere whisper, “She'll be here soon.” He assured me but I couldn't wait any longer. I was running out of patience but was mostly tensed as to what might have been the outcome of their conversation. “I should go to them,” I said, turning around to face the door when I found Marta approaching us with a bright smile on her face. “I've missed you,” She said with a pout while rushing past me to meet Charles whose arms were already wide apart

Richard There was an unusual tension in the air. The halls of the dungeon were becoming more and more crowded with soldiers and maidservants, going in similar and opposite directions. Although I was a little bit worried, because unlike the other times when they held large woods in preparation for my execution, they had royal veils and golden pots of fragrance. "What is going on?" I whispered. If only Chloe had come, I'd have gotten firsthand knowledge of everything. She's even the reason I'm still alive, as she sneaks food and water to me through Gregory. "Prince Richard, there's been a few changes," a guard said walking in my direction and just when I was about to step closer to the gates to speak with him, his form began to diminish the closer he got to me. And the moment he was at the gate of my cell, his form had completely disappeared. "Stupid Shape shifters," I cursed through my teeth. "Why hello there," Nemiuehs' voice filled my ears, the exact last person I wanted to se

Henrietta It's been a couple hours since I announced to my father and sister my ordeal with Richard. And I have never been more proud! But it is one thing to be proud and another to have the fate of the one who makes you feel proud decided upon by your treacherous sibling. She didn't want him before, so why now? 'To be Queen,' a voice whispered in my room. I knew there was no one in here with me because I shut the door myself. "But she can't be Queen, mother is alive and well!" I scoffed, staring at my glowing reflection in the mirror while gently unwrapping my hair. I needed a moment to fully understand what has happened to me, the transition, the… the new me. As my hair fell gently to my back, I couldn't help but admire the shiny silver strands and its new length. 'The coming days would be tough, my lady, beauty may have to wait' the voice whispered again and just then, my room door was thrown open. "We need to go!" Chloe said, rushing into my room. "Huh!! She tilted her head a little high, "He'd be persecuted, your majesty," she gulped, peeling her eyes off him. What is going on? “Is it now her words over mine?” I asked in disbelief, “It is enough that you gave her a position I was supposed to occupy but you have to listen to her now?” “When the spell wears off, you will understand better but for now, I'll have the guards take him away.” “You wouldn't dare!!!” a voice boomed in the throne room, startling everyone including me but when I realized that the voice had come from me, I took a few seconds to readjust before I continued speaking. “I am not under any spell and why would you have her words over mine?” I asked, “You would know my whereabouts if you cared one bit about me!’ i snapped. “I understand that you do not recall so much as a result of the spell bu…” “I am perf

I wanted to give my sister an earful, at least before we are taken back to odyssey. The energy that seeped out from GWnedolyn became intense the minute Chloe got closer to me and I could see it seeping from her too. I concentrated on pleasing her because I wanted her satisfaction more and focused on her soft moans and whispers. Suddenly, she began to moan a lot louder and I knew she was close, “Ri…Richard!!!” She screamed and I knew it was about time I met her just where she was at and with few fast strokes, I brought my head to the spot I had been touching and flipped my tongue repeatedly over there till a moan escaped her lips after which, I grazed my fangs carefully above her skin before piercing my fangs through her skin. Panting heavily like one who had a marathon, I collapsed beside her before snaking my arm around her to pull her close to me. “I love you,” I whispered next to her ear while snuggling closer to her as I awaited her response but after waiting for a few minutes and nothing came, I chuckled at the possibility of her falling asleep in the m

Her sister was after us and so is her dad but specifically, after my head.“Don't you think I'm worthy to be marked by you?” She asked and inwardly, I wished that this conversation could be avoided. Richard It was already dead into the night and the silence that came with nightfall filled my ears, but was toned with the chirping sound of crickets in the bushes. I couldn't sleep as not only was I contemplating Charles' outburst today, but Henrietta's request as well. “Then you might have to think again,” those words played repeatedly in my head, clouding my thoughts so much that I couldn't go to sleep. I kept tossing and turning until I couldn't take it anymore and decided to sit up on the bed while resting my back on the wall. I stared at her sleeping figure and subconsciously, I pictured myself marking right then. What would happen if she is taken away from me? What would happen if we were separated? Could she be right about there never being a perfect time for us? What if she is not but then, what if she actually is? These questions kept me confused and awake as I wondered whether or not I should give in. if only she knew that I want it a lot more than she does but t

All through my walk out of the room, I couldn't stop thinking about Henrietta's attitude which was beginning to be a great cause of concern to me. She spoke so seriously about that dream of hers and…she saw that I was in danger before the uproars at odyssey. Could it be possible that she could be a…no no no, I better not even think about that. Anything was possible at this point but please, not that.“What was that about?” Charles asked sharply the moment I got to him and I raised a brow as to what exactly he was talking about.“You mean her request to be marked?” I asked but he shook his head.“That's none of my business and I still wonder why you haven't gotten that done yet but that is not what I'm on about,” he waved his hand in the air as if dismissing the conversation before narrowing his gaze on me. “I heard her, those low words she said about it happening, what was th

I knew what I saw in that dream and I felt it too, it was so real, as real as the others before it and Charles' presence confirmed it. “Etta, this is not the time.” Richard protested but it was now or never. Not for me but for the both of us. They were going to seperate us and that's for sure. I saw it clearly, I saw it happen.
