CHAPTER 76

Shawn's POV

I needed to thread this with wisdom, to make the right decision. I looked at Shadowvale's face, his expressions were unreadable, but his brown eyes were obviously very cold and held a dark energy in them.

I looked over at the members of his pack and they all bore resentment on their faces, they looked like they would rip me apart if I made the wrong choice.

But which choice is wrong?

“Well, you are an amazing and great leader, so how can I, who is barely experienced, dare to fight with you?” I asked, faking a quivering tone as I spoke.

“I'm glad that you know your place,” He said and spat on the ground. “As for taking Luca's place, you will have to prove that without your little tricks, you can survive what that position entails.”

This was a fair deal, so I nodded. “Okay, what shall I do?”

“Every morning for the next seven days, you will be tasked with bringing us fresh meat for breakfast. It better be big and fleshy.” Shadowvale instructed and walked back into his tent.
