CHAPTER 187

Shawn’s POV

Heartbreak. That was the only word that could describe the ache in my chest as I walked away from the lodge.

Her refusal to join our mission of revenge felt like a dagger to my soul. I had thought, hoped, that she would understand, that she would stand with me. But she had chosen a different path, leaving me to face the coming storm alone.

As I walked through the now quiet streets, my mind wandered back to how everything at Crimson Valley was as peaceful as the night was.

I kicked a stone into a wall. “We will be kinder than they were anyway," I said sulkily.

Lily was my elder sister and it would have been nice to have her support. I knew she was scared of another bloodbath, but we were planning to only execute the Twilight Ridge pack and their allies.
