After dealing with the assassin, we went to check on the victims and upon seeing that they are well, under the care of their Alpha and also their future Queen... Megan, I let out a sigh of relief and didn't go there.

“Cai managed to track the leader of the bandits,” Phoenix said in my ears.

I looked at him in surprise. “That was fast. Where?”

“Currently escaping near the cliff. Our subordinates are currently chasing him right now,” Phoenix said while resting his chin on my shoulder.

I stared at him and solemnly reminded him. “You had better be sure to catch him alive.”

Feeling wronged, he pouted. “Am I that cruel in your heart?”

“Yes.” After thinking about it, I changed my words. “You're quite reckless.”
