I couldn't close my eyes. Tomorrow, we were going on a dangerous mission—a very dangerous one. But there was no going back.

I had a feeling that Michael felt the same restlessness. I could hear him sighing several times and shifting his position on the couch several times. Michael was anxious.

I turned to him. He was curled up on the couch across from me, his back to me.

"Michael? You're still awake?"

A sigh. "No. Who could sleep in a situation like this?"

"I'm sorry I dragged you this far into it."

Michael turned, his eyes meeting mine.

"You never should have come with me to save Elijah," he said, his voice harsh. "You have Aurora and Arthur. If anything happens to you... I could never forgive myself."

"If something happens to me, it will happen to you."

"I don't care if I die, as long as you live. You must live to rebuild the kingdom that is rightfully yours."

We were getting too melancholy, and I didn't want to fall into pessimism.

I sat up and met Michael's gaze with determination

I looked at the maids, my heartbeat quickening when I saw Nana, Gema, and Cassie. Thank goodness they were still alive!"Beta, I'll help the servants distribute the food to the cubs," I said.Victoria just gave a stiff nod. Without hesitation, Michael and I approached the maids. As we approached, the maids greeted us with graceful gestures.I stood next to Nana, who looked uncomfortable as she prepared plates of food."Nana," I whispered. She froze for a moment before looking at me curiously. "Yes?""Nana, I need your help."She looked at me again, but her eyes were slightly wider this time. "D-Delilah?""I'm glad you're safe."Nana's hands began to shake, and she almost dropped a plate. I quickly caught it and set it down on the table."Delilah... oh, my goddess!" she squealed softly. "I'm so happy... I want to cry...! Oh no!""Hold back your tears. I need your help.""We..." Nana hesitated, then glanced at Catherine, who was talking to Victoria. "We can talk in the hall. Take the em

A set of keys hung from the guard's belt, and I quickly snatched them before dashing to the underground cells. As soon as I unlocked the gate and descended, a wave of mixed auras washed over me—oppression, grief, despair. I could feel it all. And it felt so sad for them. Not all royal wolves are evil! But in the midst of it all, I felt Elijah's presence. His aura was calm, as if he were at peace, unafraid of what would come.Elijah, can you sense me here? The prisoners' murmuring grew louder as I reached the last step. Several wolves peered through the iron bars, their eyes filled with desperation."Please! Let us out! We are innocent!""Hey! Help us!""You! Don't ignore us! Please, we need to get out of here!"I scanned each cell, looking for Elijah, but he was nowhere to be seen. The growing noise made me anxious; it might draw unwanted attention. The most isolated cell at the end of the corridor had an entrance made entirely of solid metal. Only a small hatch at the bottom allowed

Delilah turned and ran back inside, leaving me standing there in disbelief. Our cub? My cub? Is this a dream? So many questions flooded my mind, but I had no time to dwell on them. Every second wasted could mean being caught again.I sprinted towards the outer gate, stopping at an intersection of corridors to assess the situation. Damn it! Two guards were stationed there! How was I going to get past them without being seen?I couldn't let Delilah and Michael's efforts go to waste! But what now? What should I do next? My mind went blank—I couldn't think!"King Elijah?" A small voice called from behind me.I tensed and turned to see two maids standing there, their eyes wide. How could I have missed them? I was trapped! We'll take care of this!" one of them whispered urgently. Before I could say anything, the two petite maids rushed towards the guards at the gate."Open the gate and take us to th

The cubs were getting ready to leave when I returned to the garden. Nana rushed over and babbled."The boys are going to ride horses." She looked at me worriedly. "What about your mission?""It worked.""It did?" Nana's eyes widened. "But the cubs..."If the cubs went to the back of the palace, there was a chance the guards would go there, too. Elijah could get caught! What was I going to do?I ran straight to Michael, who was organizing the children. I leaned in close and whispered to him."King Elijah got away, but we have to go now, Michael!" I urged. "I took out two guards; this will be a problem!""Shit, Deli!""Please, help me, Michael."Michael took a deep breath, then suddenly clutched his stomach and let out a loud moan."Oooh! My period! What did she mean? Could she be talking about Elijah's escape?"You must see him at once, my queen!" Nana urged. "Now!"Wanda's face showed shock. "What?! How is that possible?"She turned away from me and hurried toward the door. I saw Nana whisper something to the bus driver, and the engine roared to life.Wanda stopped abruptly and glared at the driver. "I never said you could leave! When we arrived, the hideout felt cramped and hot. It was in the basement of a restaurant, deep inside, like a bunker.Dozens of royal wolves hid there, mostly alphas. Of course, they were the primary targets—if captured or eliminated, their packs would automatically fall under Wanda's control, along with her rogue wolves. When Michael and I entered, the Alphas looked uncomfortable, as if they had just seen us rise from the grave - both of us."Young Master Michael?" One of them stood and approached, then pulled Michael into a tight hug, sobbing. "It's good to see you! I have never believed that you were a traitor! I knew it!"One by one, they hugged Michael, their voices thick with emotion as they cried and ranted about Wanda's cruelty. Only then did they seem to realize that I was there, too.Don't say it again—I've heard enough of that "fake Luna Queen" nonsense."Queen Delilah? I didn't know it was you!" another Alpha said to

Even when my arm was bitten and torn, I fought back immediately, sinking my fangs into the rogue wolf's throat. His body thudded to the ground before he went limp. Despite their greater numbers, they were all forced to retreat. We could hear the defeated whimpers of those who managed to escape. Most of the remaining rogues lay dead. Some Alphas were injured, but they could still walk and bear the pain."Come on, let's go!" Michael urged. The sight of bodies strewn across the streets and dark pools of blood staining the ground made my stomach churn. I escaped my gaze and hurried after the Alphas toward the city's northern edge."You're hurt?" Michael asked.A deep bite mark throbbed on my right arm, but I could take it."I'm fine." I clutched t

He walked off with the patrol leader while Dad half dragged me inside."Have you thought about Aurora and Albert?" Dad's voice was soft - not judgmental, just concerned.I took a deep breath and looked at Michael. A small sigh escaped his nose as he walked beside me, Michael's head bowed."You're hurt too. What if you were hurt worse and didn't survive?" Dad continued. "Let's treat your wounds first—yours and Michael's, okay?"I just nodded obediently and walked into the living room. As soon as Michael and I sat down, Dad left the room. My eyes focused on Michael."I'm sorry, Michael," I whispered regretfully."It's okay, Deli. Alpha Jeremy has every right to be mad at me. The plan had been carefully laid out, and everyone was already marching to the palace to destroy Wanda. Alderwood was eerily quiet, with no one outside. Even the shops were closed. In the human world, they only knew it as a gang war. Yes, that was the rumor that had been spread. And the police could not do anything about it. They were only guarding the perimeter near the residential areas. "What's going on, my king?" I asked as we passed the closed shops. "I just want to end this war. And repay a debt to someone." My eyebrows almost furrowed. "A debt?" "Yes." Elijah nodded. "If it weren't for him, I might not be with you now." Who was Elijah talking about? One of the royal alphas approached Elijah, interrupting our conversation. "At the last crossroads, we will all regroup and go to the palace together, my king," the Alpha said. "I'm glad to see you too, Deli. I was so afraid something had happened to you.""I'm the one who was worried about you. Especially after you were taken. What happened after that?"Before Eugenia could answer, Elijah approached us and said a quick goodbye."I need to meet with the other alphas. There's something we need to discuss," Elijah said.I nodded. "Okay, my king.""See you at dinner." I was grateful that there were no casualties, and most of the pack members from the three alphas decided to surrender. They had sworn allegiance to Elijah. I felt a tremendous sense of relief."We have already made plans to attack the palace in a few days. The rogue wolves have attempted small attacks several times, but we've been able to handle them," Jeremy reported over the phone."That's great. Thanks for the update, Jeremy.""Hold on, Deli. The Arlington estate lay ahead—not too far, but I could see it was heavily guarded. I denied it, thinking it must be a coincidence. So, in addition to Crescent Moon blood, do I also have Celestial Moon blood flowing through my veins? A tent and chairs had already been set up for the royal alphas to sleep and have meetings with Jeremy.I was about to head back to my room to check on the twins when Jeremy approached me and stopped me for a moment."Deli, I need to talk to you about Elijah," Jeremy said bluntly.I didn't bring up his earlier statement about being willing to accept me anytime, as if it was a subtle threat to Elijah. Instead, I just nodded and sat down on the edge of the bed while Jeremy sat down on the sofa."What do you say about King Elijah? What about him?" I asked."We still haven't decided whether to tell him about you—about who you really are, Deli. We're afraid the royal wolves might turn on you... or worse, try to eliminate you.""We both know they are not as savage as the rogue wolves. They have honor and keep their promises, Jeremy."
