Audrey was on her feet before the clock could make another tick sound. She was in her night dress and she was disoriented for a few seconds before she gained her strength and composure. She reached for her sword which never went too far away from her bed since the rogues started attacking and picked up her boots. The noise outside intensified and she could hear feets hurrying pass her door. The guards and all the domestic staff in the house were scrambling past, either to go out to the fight or to hide in a safer place. She felt the adrenaline rush up her spines as she shrugged out of her night dress and slipped on her trousers and boots. She was soon done and she took in deep gulps of breath. Just then, the door to her room banged. She rushed to the door and held the knob, ready to open it but the voice out in the hallway made her stop."My lady, the Alpha said you should not leave your rooms, you are safe here, the rogues have not been able to penetrate the pack house and the men ar
It was a long night of troubles for the Burning Mountain pack. The rogues who seemed to have retreated had returned with full force and even though Audrey had done her best at the battlefield, they had ended up losing about three of their soldiers. They were all sad. In the end, they had sent the rogues away but they knew it was only temporary. The rogues will go back, equip themselves and strike again and as much as she wished she could do something to stop them, she had the settling knowledge that she could not help it on her own. Three of their very good men had been killed and it was a miracle that she was alive after coming in close contact severally with arrows that almost ended her. She had escaped one way or the other and once, she had felt the cold blade of an enemy's sword rest behind her neck. She had thought she was going to die then in the hands of her enemies but one of her men had struck the enemy from behind and she had been free. When they had finally sent the rogues
Audrey was in her room when her father sent for her. She was dressed soon and found herself rushing into the courts where her father attended to matters concerning the pack. This time, he had with him his Beta and his Luna and there was in the congregation, the leader of the army. She stopped by the door and observed them but her father's eyes caught hers and she saw in those eyes, an encouragement to come in. She walked in."Come and sit down, dear. Your father thinks it will be a good idea to tell you something very important_"Her mother said as she walked in. Her hesitancy thrown away as she walked to the seat her mother was pointing at briskly. She sat."Dad, I am here."She said. She sat smugly and crossed her legs. Her father looked at her admiringly before speaking."Well, dear. I know this might not sound like the best idea to you but I want to inform you that we have decided to join forces with the blood moon pack so we can fight the Rogues and send them away forever. You s
The luna had spoken at length to Audrey about the pack that were to come the next day. She had spoken about poise and charisma and had told Audrey that she was not to be at the fields, training. She was to exude all the charm that daughters and heirs of packs exuded and she had been bored listening to her mother give her all the detailed lectures. Some of which she did not even need. "Mother, is it necessary that I act the way you have asked me to?"She asked lazily at a point."It is not how I have asked you to, it is how you should act..like the royal daughter that you are. You are not supposed to carry yourself like any common member of the pack"Her more replied sternly."Well, I will chose to be myself at anytime regardless of the people around and the place that I find myself. Again, I find that having to act like the royal daughter that I am limits me from doing a lot and being myself_"Audrey said. She had learnt to always speak her mind and she did that everytime no matter w
Audrey was not going to stop. She ran all the way up the stairs and only stopped when she reached the door of the library upstairs. The library was one of the many rooms in the pack house that gave a lucid view of the house below. She opened the door and went inside. It was calm and as serene as she always remembered it. As a child, she had ran into the library a few times to escape being scolded by her mother after she must have indulged in one mischievous activity or the other. The library brought her memories as she stepped into it, a sweet sense of nostalgia teased her. She looked around the shelves holding the antique books that had been passed down from one generation to the other, Passed from one ancestor to the other and eventually amassing to the number they were. She walked around, the smell of her mate whom she was aware was only downstairs was temporarily forgotten and in that instance, she wished she could just remain in the library, away from the arriving guests and the
Audrey was a bit uneasy as she did not smell her mate anymore. She still had not seen the fellow and she had no idea whom among the many men he was. She was still busy, having to order the maids around as the hostess, see that everything was in place.. it was almost lunchtime and the sun was high up in the sky. She took the stairs once again and was going to head straight to her room when the scent of her mate came to her again, this time stronger and more compelling. By the time she reached the door of her father's study, it was unmistakable that the scent was coming from there.. she felt the compelling force push the door open and she stepped in. There was seated right across her father the Alpha of the blood Moon pack. Ron! She gulped in some air and greeted her father. She was obviously disoriented. "Father, good day.." she said. She had no good excuse to give for coming into the study unannounced and so she busied her brain by cooking up a suitable excuse."I had only come to a
Ron was closely followed by Robert as he continued to walk briskly. He did not see Chloe walk from where she had been towards him until she was right behind him. She called him."Wait up, Ron!"She said in suppressed whisper and Ron turned back sharply.. she quickened her pace."Yes, Chloe what do you want?"He asked as he turned away from her but did not walk away. She reached him and breathed loudly."Why do you ask me such question, Ron?" She asked with a forced smile. She was in front of Ron in the next moment and her hand raised to rest on the lapels of Ron's shirt. He moved a step back and stood more comfortably a few feets away from her. She sighed but did not make any attempt to go closer. "I ask what you want, Chloe that you must detain me _" Ron said as his eyes moved from her across the hall ahead of them."You know what I want and you won't say no to me, right?" She hinted, biting down on her lower lips. Ron did not pay any attention to her latest seductive look. He was s
Audrey suffered all night with the scent of her mate plaguing her. She was not sure what to do about it. She could not avoid it even if she did. She had walked in wobbly feet when she had gone before the maids, showing them how and where to place the deserts after dinner and Ron had looked her way.. she had lost her composure and had felt her insides go hot and then cold. And then there was the sudden fluttering of butterflies in her innards. She loved and despised the sensations he stirred in her and she hated how totally indifferent he was in all of that!"Well, it was a good night, was it not?"Luna Victoria asked as she came into Audrey's room that night." I loved how totally composed you had been my dear.. I told you, you were only nervous, but once you set your mind away from all of that nervousness, you do really good. A good hostess you made, indeed my dear," she said as she plopped on the bed. Audrey was in the bed. Still pondering on all that had happened.. the breaths she h
While Watson was still having the conversation with Graham who had refused to return the book to them, the men from the burning Mountain pack arrived. They had seen the car just like Ron had seen it after going many different wrong routes. The major concern of the men were Audrey and they saw that she was okay before they relaxed and acknowledged Ron and the others. Johnson was with Audrey the next moment."How come you were once again taken by these men with filthy hands?" He asked as he referred to Graham and his men who were not paying them attention."I didn't know of these people in these parts," she replied."We should leave now," Johnson said but he was barely done speaking when a fight broke out between Graham and his men and the men of Valmore whose property he had in his possession. Ron and his men did not join in the fight neither did the men of the burning Mountain pack. It was not their fight and good enough was that the pack of Valmore was dealing Ruthlessly with the me
Audrey did not know how she and the men landed in the hands of people who wanted her dead. She was soon helpless after trying to fight the enemies all to no avail. The men where stronger and even more savage than she remembered any group of men to be.. she was horrified when she had lost her sword and had been forced to give up her fight alongside her men. The men where much more than them and she did not see the need to fight them anymore. She was tired and was already regretting her decision to go all the way to the burning Mountain pack alone. Ron would be mad if he found out she was in danger and could not rescue herself. She was suddenly worried even though she knew he was going to know in no distant time. He would feel it when she was in danger and he would come looking for her. She was surprised to see that the men who had abducted her and her men where with objects which she knew where magical. She was surprised and did not have the mind to say anything as they were led away f
Carla was getting married to her mate, Watson and it was all joys and smiles and the men from the pack would not stop complimenting her for being a strong and beautiful woman who had saved their luna. The words had gone round that she had rescued the luna from one of the new enemies who was trying to have his way with her and she had been greatly appreciated. When Watson and the other men had finished with the enemies and went back to the pack house, they learned of it and Watson had hugged her tightly."I know i asked you not to leave your room for your own safety, but now I am happy you had left and had not been harmed but had instead saved another from harm," he said while he still had her in his arms." I know what you said was for my own good and I appreciate the care but I had had a strong desire to leave the room while the fight was on and that was how I stumbled on the luna and the enemy," she said..he sighed and stepped back for a bit to examine her."I'm glad you did that an
Carla was at the pack of Valmore again to see her mate. She had one of the most tiring journeys of her life as was peculiar to traveling that far the steep rugged roads that led to the pack. She arrived not long before dinner and she was truly exhausted that she hardly spent enough time with her mate before he saw her to bed and left her to rest seeing how totally tired she was and how she yawned continuously, a reminder of how totally tired she was. "Good night, beauty," he kissed her forehead before leaving the room. She was asleep in no distant time after he left the room.Carla was roused by the shouts and the metallic meeting of swords and wild cries. She sprang to her feet, she was not sleep anymore. She was grateful she always went places with her sword and she could not say she was not pleased with herself for that for she was a true warrior who would never be caught without a weapon. There was a sudden rasp on the door"Yes? Who is it?" She asked as her hand tightened around
When Carla had been with the pack of She had leaned so much about them and their magic that she had been both awed and excited to learn all she had learned. She laid there in bed reminiscing on the time she had been there..she recalled Watson telling her,"I'm going to take you somewhere that you are going to be enchanted and you are going to find out a lot that not just anyone is privileged to know."He had told her before they headed there. She did not know how he did but they left the water fountain in se way that only he knew."So, you said I am going to be enchanted at this new place that you are going to take me?" She asked as he led her hand towards the place that only he knew..he stopped by a door and entered while shaking his head to the question she had asked." Yes. And if you want, you can do a few things that I will have to show you how to," he said before turning to her to flash her a big smile. She nodded sheepishly whether or not she knew what the smile indicated he co
Clara did not want to return Immediately back to her pack.. she was with Robert most of the time and a message had been sent to her pack to notify them that she was still alive and was safe with the blood moon pack but not long after that, a few men from her pack had been sent to come and find out the sincerity of the message and they had come. Ron was in the courts Right with Robert when the men who had come from Clara's pack arrived and were ushered into the courts by his command. They both came in. There had been four of them but two had stood out of the courts while the two who would be the leaders of the group had come in to speak on behalf of the others. "We have only come to see, on behalf of Clara's pack if she is truly here and safe as it had been mentioned in the message that had been sent to us and we'll like to find out from her if she will love to go with us or if she has decided to stay with you and your pack, Alpha Ron," The man had said. He was the tallest of the men
Carla and her mate had the best time of their lives together. She had not taken him to her favourite spot, in fact, he had asked courteously after the ordaining ceremony of the new luna, Audrey to go back to his pack with her and he had given them the consent. She was going to his pack for the first time and it was the nicest thing she could think of that was happening to her at the moment. The ride was surprisingly long and tiring and she was Happy she had Watson to rest her head on his shoulder when she got too tired. When they arrived the pack, she was exhausted and she managed to see the Alpha and his Luna before she was taken up by Watson to them room she was to spend the night..it was a vast airy room with windows that started from the roof to the bottom of the walls and she ignored her exhaustion as she stood by the window, watching the pack go by below her. She always knew that the pack was big. Even way bigger than theirs but she had no idea that it was that much a busy place
CHAPTER 59It was going to be the ordaining ceremony of Audrey as the luna of the blood moon pack. She was happy and so were everyone. Ron was happier. He was finally going to have his Luna. Audrey had been in the room getting dressed for the occasion, a few maids had been appointed to her and she had Clara and Carla with her all the time she was being dressed. They were all smiles and would not stop teasing her at every chance they got. The Alpha of the pack of Valmore and a few other packs had been invited and that was very exciting to Carla who was going to have the best time of her life with her mate who was going to be present. "Do you know that I had my first kiss already?" She asked Audrey as she set the small rubies that were to adorn her hair on her hair."Wow. That is something. How was it? Did you like it? Did you feel like going back again and again for one more kiss the way I felt after Ron kissed me for the first time?" She asked. Carla laughed and Clara joined in too
CHAPTER 58Clara was getting used to being around Robert alone. After the first time at the garden when Carla had been there too, she had rejected all the offers to sit out and spend some time with Robert and he was obviously frustrated but he was not going to give up on her. Carla had thought she was going to get more comfortable around him when she had asked if he was a good man and she had affirmed but it seemed she had thought wrong. She had had to go to her room one day and have a chat with her when she had felt Clara was being too hard on herself even after more than one month that she had been set free from the rogues. She could not deny or reject her mate and that was what she needed to know. When Carla stepped into the room, Clara was by the window,. Staring down at the people below who were going about their different businesses."Are you up for a small chat or you see busy?" Carla asked. She did not walk any further from the door but Clara turned from the window and smiled
