Analyn POV
"I...I don't understand," I murmured.
"You heard me, Ana. You will marry Ambrose. And as the future alpha, he will..."
"NO!" I screamed.
My father frowned. I hardly ever opposed my father or yelled at his face, but I'll make an exception today. "What do you mean no?"
"I mean, I won't marry that monster!" I said. Okay, maybe I was being a little harsh. All the rumors might be false, and maybe he didn't kill random innocent people, but that didn't change the fact that he was cold and arrogant.
"You don't have a choice. It's been decided," dad declared.
"Oh, you've got to be fucking kidding me!" I cried.
"Watch your mouth, young lady," dad warned.
This was terrible. A total disaster. I should be excited about graduation and about being free from everything, not plan my wedding! Especially not to the person who may or may not eat me on our wedding night.
"Daddy. This is just all so sudden. Couldn't we think about it?" I decided to take the pleading route to try and soften him up. I was kind of a daddy's girl, so I hoped he'd see the error in this terrible decision.
I was born into power as my family had always been heavily influenced by politics. It didn't bother me at first, but I couldn't stand the paparazzi following me around and taking pictures of my private life when I became a teenager. But then something happened. The attention diverted away from me even after my father became the president because us humans weren't as exciting.
What happened, you ask?
Werewolves happened.
They demanded not to be treated like animals and wanted to live in the society as they were somewhat like humans. Some humans agreed with them, some too terrified to deny them and the others wanted them gone. So it has been a long and tiring battle between us humans and the wolves.
"We don't have much time. A lot of the packs are starting to get aggressive, and a group of humans wants them destroyed. A marriage might calm everyone down for a while," he insisted. "I'm worried about the future of mankind. Werewolves think we are beneath them, and I could feel a war coming."
"That sounds stupid!" I exclaimed.
"Analyn! That's enough. I need you to grow up and take responsibility. He goes to your school, so he must not be a complete stranger, so that's good, right?" dad sounded hopeful.
That was the problem. I knew too much about him. And after today, I have seen too much of him.
But I knew I had no choice. I was going to be sold off to the wolf's den.
"I called Alpha Marquise and arranged a meeting between you and Ambrose. Then you two can discuss your future," dad said decidedly.
There was nothing to discuss. Ambrose hates me, and he would probably puke all over dad's oak floor when he realized his bride is me.
***
The next day, I anxiously waited for them to arrive. According to dad, Alpha Marquise is a nice guy, but knowing that didn't give me any comfort. So what if he was a nice guy? Ambrose wasn't.
"They are here," our housekeeper peeked inside my room and announced.
Dammit.
I had on my best dress, as per my father's request. It was a sky blue, short dress with lacey sleeves and back. I tied my long blonde hair into a fishtail braid and threw it on the side. I looked at myself in the mirror and got annoyed. I look more feminine than I've ever looked before. Who was I trying to impress really? This marriage was the last thing I wanted.
I let out a deep sigh and headed to the dining hall where my father usually entertained special guests.
Our eyes met as soon as I entered the room.
He was sitting directly in front of the door, so it couldn't be helped. He furrowed his eyebrows, and his jaw tightened as he recognized me.
"You," he simply said.
"Oh good, you two know each other already," a man spoke, so I diverted my eyes from Ambrose.
I looked at Alpha Marquise. He was about my father's age and had specks of grey in his hair but was still incredibly handsome. Ambrose must've inherited some of his good looks.
"What a lovely young lady you are. I am Marquise Vikander of the Lightbridge Shadows pack. It's very nice to meet you, Analyn," he said.
I met his eyes nervously. "The pleasure is all mine, sir."
"Please, no need for formalities. We will be a family soon. Unless you have any objection, young lady," Marquise boomed.
Was that an open invitation to deny this marriage? So I thought, but my hope died once I saw my father's face. He was glaring at me not to mess things up.
"I must warn you, sweetheart. My son is a temperamental brute, so you'll have your hands full trying to tame him." Alpha Marquise chuckled.
"Then I prefer you as my husband!" I blurted out.
What the actual fuck is wrong with me? Why do I always blurt out the most awkward things!
Alpha Marquise threw his head back and laughed out loud. His booming voice almost vibrated our walls. "Oh, you are a funny one. I was wrong. It looks like it should be Ambrose who will have his hands full," he said and smirked.
Someone kill me now.
"I would like to talk to Analyn in private now," Ambrose stood up and spoke for the first time.
"Of course, son," my father said enthusiastically. I've never seen someone get so excited about pushing their only daughter into the fire.
Ambrose grabbed my wrist like he already owned me then dragged me outside on the patio.
"That was rude. I was in the middle of wooing your father," I complained.
"Listen, girl," he hissed.
"My name is Analyn, but you can call me Ana," I corrected him.
"Girl, I don't want this any more than you do," he barked.
He doesn't? Oh good. We can both convince our parents not to do this then.
"But we are going to do this, and for this whole pact thing to work, you'll have to behave," he finished.
"I object!" I cried out.
Ambrose winced. "I didn't say you had a choice."
"You said you didn't want this, then why..."
Ambrose leaned closer to me, forcing me to look him in the eyes. It was as if he could see through me. I felt goosebumps all over my body.
He took my hand in his and trapped it inside his fist. His nose scrunched as he stared hard. What is he...trying to control me with his mind? Do wolves have that power?
"Um, what are you doing?" I said in a hushed tone.
"Shh...I'm trying to concentrate," he snapped.
Eh? Concentrate on what?
"You will agree to this marriage and do everything I tell you to do," he said in a robotic voice.
Okay, he is starting to creep me out now.
"Haha, no, I won't," I said.
He furrowed his eyebrows. "Yes, you will, human girl. From now on, you are my slave."
"That's hilarious, but I don't think so," I said casually and yanked my hand free. What is this guy smoking?
His green eyes glinted with shock. He stared at me without saying anything and blinked a few times. "It didn't work? I don't understand...."
"What didn't work?" I looked at him curiously. Why is he acting so strange?
He looked down. "Nothing."
Okay...something was weird about him, but I didn't feel like prying him for more information. I had bigger things to worry about. "Anyway, I think we should tell our family this marriage is a bad idea."
"No!" Ambrose growled. "My father threatened to exile me if I didn't agree to this. So we will go through this even if it kills us."
"But I will never like you!" I exclaimed.
"And neither will I you. Humans are weak and pathetic. They repulse me." he said and waved his hand dismissively.
"Excuse me? Well... werewolves are hairy and gross. And I bet they smell like dogs!" I pointed my finger at him and said. How dare he insult my kind.
"You want to say that again, pup?" he roared and stood over me. His eyes were glowing amber again. I guess I managed to insult him.
"Sure, I'll say it again. You probably have dog breath."
Good one, Ana. I must've woken up with a death wish this morning.
Ambrose suddenly grabbed my shoulders and lifted me up until my feet were a few feet off the ground. It was as if I was as light as a piece of paper. He could easily throw me across the room like a rag doll. He drew me closer to his face as if he was about to kiss me. I felt his hot breath on my face as if he was huffing and puffing like a big bad wolf.
Classic.
"Apologize before I fling you across the room," he said with gritted teeth.
I weighed my options. Insult him some more and choose death or apologize. I decided to choose the latter.
"I'm sorry. Your breath smells lovely like the ocean breeze," I said.
He must not have smelled my sarcasm because his eyes returned back to their original color, and he stopped breathing heavily. He put me down gently.
"I'll spare you for the sake of the peace treaty," he said.
"See, I'm terrible. I might piss you off like this for the rest of your life. How about we find an alternative solution, so we don't have to marry each other," I chirped.
Ambrose let go of my shoulders. "No. Get ready for your new life. It won't be easy for you, so be prepared," he said and stormed out of the room.
Ambrose POVMy father used to tell me I was different than all the other wolves in the pack. When I was a kid, I thought it was just something he would say to make me feel special, but as I grew up, I realized he meant it. My father never said things he didn't mean.I was, indeed, different. When I reached puberty, I felt powers growing inside me. It was not the kind of powers typical werewolves had. It was stronger, something darker.I realized I could run faster than my brothers. And I was more agile in the battlefield. So when I fought with others, I was almost invincible. When I turned fifteen, I began to read minds. At first, I didn't think much of it. We werewolves can link our minds and communicate telepathically, so reading their minds was nothing out of the ordinary. Until one day, I started to communicate with other animals too. And eventually, I figured out how to control their actions using my mind.
Analyn POVI stood my ground and told him I wasn't scared of him. But I lied. I was scared of him a little.Ambrose wasn't a regular guy. There was something primal about him. He was unpredictable. I knew I had to be careful around him.He had evil intentions deep inside him. I could feel it in my bones. I had a feeling that humanity would be in trouble once he became the Alpha. I couldn't imagine what he might do.Maybe I can stop him when the time comes. Maybe I can tame the beast. What am I even thinking? I can't even tame my cat, Mr. Richie Richardson.I was still upset at my father for forcing me to do this, but I had to say yes. I was his only daughter, and I didn't want to disappoint him by being whiny and weak. So what if I had to spend the rest of my life with someone like Ambrose? Maybe I will get lucky, and he will change his mind last minute.I decided to make the best of it by blowing his money on the mos
Analyn POVI flung myself into a corner as a chair flew at me. Luckily, I was able to dodge it.I saw a bulky man standing in the middle of the club, fuming."Let's not fight, Alpha Dominique. We both know this is the neutral zone since humans own this club. We can all be here, so why don't we try and have fun?" Theodore was saying. He hadn't transformed into his wolf yet. I wondered why. I bet this Dominique person would be a lot more intimidated then.Dominique growled. "I was having fun until your pack member dared to hit on my mate. Why don't you hand him over to us, Beta, so we can punish him our way?"Oh snap, hitting on an Alpha's mate? Who was the idiot who did that?"I didn't do it on purpose. I had no idea she was your mate!" the idiot spoke.Okay, I don't need to stick around and watch someone get torn apart, I though and got up slowly.I couldn't take my eyes off Dominique as he transformed into his
Ambrose POV"What did I say about not messing around with the Bloodmoon pack?" I said to Jaq after slapping him upside his head. Flirting with an Alpha's mate, what the hell was thinking!"I'm so sorry, bro. I swear I had no idea!" Jaq whined."How the hell did you not know. If Ambrose didn't show up, who knows what might've happened," Theo said irritably.I knew he was extra annoyed as he was looking forward to having a fun night, but the fight ruined everything."Whatever, I'm glad no one got seriously hurt. Well, except Alpha Dominique." Theo smirked.I suddenly remembered Analyn, and rage boiled inside me.One of the bastards from the Bloodmoon pack touched her and made her cry. I took care of him by swatting him off like a fly, but it wasn't enough in my opinion. I should've beat the shit out of him more. When I saw her crying, my heart plunged to my throat. And when I saw that asshole scaring her, I wante
Ambrose POV My relaxing mood was already ruined, so I decided to sneak up on Analyn. It still bothered me that I couldn't get inside her head and control her. I needed to see if it was just a temporary block. I arrived at her house within a few minutes and rang the doorbell. An older man opened the door. He looked me up and down and blinked a few times. "Can I help you, sir?" he asked. "Is Analyn home?" I asked. "Yes she is, but she is not feeling too well. Would you like to come back another time?" he asked. Not feeling well? I wondered if it had anything to do with the night at the club. I felt a twinge of guilt for not staying with her longer and making sure she was okay. She seemed to have recovered at the time. "I would like to see her now, please. I am her fiancé, so I can check on her," I said. "Don't tell her I'm here, though. I wanted it to be a surprise." The man nodded. "I remember yo
Analyn POV"Wait! Don't go!" I stopped him before he made it out of the house.Ambrose turned around and narrowed his eyes. "What?" he asked."Why did you come here in the first place?" I asked. My eyes turned wide. "No way! Did you sense my period cramps from all the way home? Damn, that's cray cray!"Ambrose scoffed. "No, dummy. I didn't come here to cure your cramps."I yelped as he flicked my forehead.Jerk.I frowned as I rubbed my forehead. "Then why?""I came here to ask you out on a date," he said. Only because my father is making me do it," he quickly added."Oh." I didn't know what else to say about it."So, do you want to go out to dinner with me tomorrow?" he asked."No," I said without hesitation.Ambrose stared at me wide-eyed as if he couldn't believe I said no."I mean, I want to go out with you, but dinner sounds boring. Can we go to an amusement park instead?
Ambrose POV I checked my phone for the fifth time. Analyn was over an hour late. I did manage to get her phone number before I left, so I tried to call her a few times, but she never answered. I hope she wasn't a flake because I hate that with a passion. After waiting for a few more minutes, I gave up and left. I felt anger slowly rising inside me. How dare that puny human stand me up! I didn't hear from her all day. I thought about going to her house and seeing if she was okay, but I was still too angry. No one stands me up. No one! "Weren't you supposed to take your future wife out on a date today?" My governess Sylvia asked me. She was like a mother to me and constantly worried about my wellbeing. "How did you know?" I said. Sylvia smirked. "I know everything about you, Ambrose and Alpha Marquise mentioned it. I heard she is a sweet little thing." "She is an infuriating human being. And a flake," I s
Analyn POVWhen I looked into those cold blue eyes, I was afraid. He looked like the kind of person who didn't have a kind bone in the body. He probably ate his preys alive. "I'm sorry for crashing my car into your jeep. My father will pay for all that," I quickly said.He grabbed my arm. "I am not interested in money. At least, not anymore," he said."Then what do you want?" I asked."My name is Baron. You are Analyn, aren't you?" he said."How do you know that?" I asked."And you are to be married to Ambrose Vikander in two days' time," he ignored my question and said.Does everyone in this town know about my wedding now? I am such a celebrity."Yes, so what?" I asked."So, I had been waiting for the perfect opportunity to take revenge on him," Baron hissed. That's right. Ambrose picked this man up and threw him against the wall for trying to kidnap me. He was probably still angry. His ego must
Ten years later..."Kaden, SLOW DOWN!" I cried out as our five year old child Kaden continued to terrorize everyone. I watched what went down in front of me, not sure how to handle our son, while Matthew and Konrad stood in the distance, stuffing their face with pizza, "Why aren't you stopping him!" I looked at them and roared.I was four months pregnant with Matthew's daughter Misty, so I was too hormonal and grumpy to deal with our demon child, who had now transformed into a dragon, spitting fire at everyone and everything."BURN, BURN, BURN!" Kaden chanted joyously.Ah, he was his father's son, alright. "Konrad! Do something!" I glared at Konrad."He is just having fun," he said nonchalantly.I turned my attention back to Matthew. "Then you stop him!"Matthew stopped eating his pizza and looked at me like he had no idea what I was talking about. "Huh? What do you mean? Why do I have to get him? It's Konrad's spawn of hell. Let him punish Kaden.""Because I already know Konrad, and
Sophia POV Is this really happening? Or is this a dream? I wondered as Matthew carried me to his bedroom. Tonight was finally the night I was to be mated to Matthew. I'd been thinking about it all day and let's just say my anxiety level was through the roof! "Don't be scared, Sophia. I won't hurt you. You trust me, don't you?" Matthew said gently. "I do," I whispered. Matthew put me on the floor gently. I felt like his piercing green eyes could look inside my soul and I felt nervous again. But it wasn't because I was scared of him. I could feel the heat between my legs as I watched him take his shirt off. I want him, and I can't even deny it to myself. [Holy hell, this guy is hot. I wonder how his wolf would feel when he buried his cock into you], my wolf cooed inside me, making me redder than a tomato. [Shut up! You will ruin the moment,] I hissed. I wasn't usually lusting over men like this, but for some reason, I could hardly contain myself now. I must be in heat. Matthew
Matthew POV Konrad was angry with me. He didn't want me to fight him about who gets to have Sophia first tonight. He wanted me to give her up without argument, but I didn't want to let her go this easily. They say fighting doesn't solve anything. So we both agreed with my mom's idea of finding the flowers in the forest. It shouldn't be too hard, right? "You will never find it. You barely spend any time in the woods," Konrad scoffed. "That's where you are wrong, brother. I may not roam around in the forest like a wild animal and waste my time there, but I still know a lot about it. I can also speak to other animals and ask them for direction." Konrad growled at me. "You can't ask other animals in the forest about the flower bush. That's cheating." "That's not cheating. Nobody said we couldn't do that!" I exclaimed. "And I bet the creatures in the woods will be more willing to help me because all you did was find new ways to torture them. So they already hate you." I smirked. "Fuc
Sophia POVGosh, I was having a nice quiet time in my room, eating a big bowl of chocolate ice cream, but of course, I got roped into their sibling bullshit.Again."What's happening?" I mumbled."Konrad and I are going to decide who gets to be with you tonight for your first time, once and for all," Matthew announced."Excuse me? I thought I already told you that it is up to me and not you. I get to decide who will be my first," I put my bowl down and snarled."Well...have you decided?" Konrad asked."No.""Well, there you go. You don't even know how to decide yet. So we are going to settle it. Then you won't have to make any kind of decision," Matthew said, deciding. These Neanderthals are going to be the end of me."And how are you going to settle this, may I ask? And why did you bring me here? We were not supposed to see each other until tonight anyway," I said irritably. All I wanted was to eat my ice cream in peace and read a good book. And maybe take a nice warm bath later. I s
Konrad POV "Gone? What do you mean gone?" my father roared. "Valentina ran away with Callan," Matthew murmured. Shit, that bastard had really done it this time. It had been a few days since the day Callan disappeared with Sophia's sister and then was brought back from the demon world by me. Ever since then, I lost contact with him, but it turned out he didn't lose connection with Valentina. Cheeky bastard. Although I was angry initially because Matthew and I had been protecting Valentina from Callan's lusty eyes for decades, I decided I'd learn to accept their sudden elope. Callan might be a complete moron, but Valentina? She was not dumb. If she went against our father and chose Callan, she knew what she was doing. Father's face turned dark, and I could tell he was trying his best not to explode in anger. "I see. I thought Sophia's sister was his mate. Why did that hooligan take my daughter?" "He rejected his mate for Val," Matthew interjected. However, he didn't seem all that
Callan POVWas she teasing me again?I held my breath as Valentina led me into her room."What are you planning on doing? Are you trying to seduce me, Ms. Vikander?" I joked.Valentina said nothing. A mysterious smile teased her lips instead, and her green eyes twinkled. Goddamn, she was just so...How did I get so lucky to be in the same room with this gorgeous creature? I didn't even use my Incubus magic on her! That meant she wasn't forced to bring me here. That means she actually likes me."You are awfully quiet. Nervous?" Valentina said and giggled mischievously."Nervous? Me? Don't be silly. I am half incubus. I get girls left and right," I said dismissively. Okay, that came out bad, but it wasn't like I was having sex with them for fun only. I literally needed to have sex to feed myself."That stops now," Valentina's voice was bizarrely melodious, making my head swim."Your sexual conquest stops here," Valentina repeated."No, Val. You don't understand. I need sex to stay stron
Valentina Today was the big day—my date with Callan. I shouldn't be nervous. I told myself that it was only Callan that I had a date with, that I knew him and shouldn't panic. I grew up with him and I'm pretty sure we were naked in baths at some point! But it didn't work. The second he arrived on my doorstep, standing there with his silvery white hair reaching down to his waist, and winning smile, I was a goner. It was game over to my lady parts. It shouldn't be allowed to be so handsome. Callan's imperfections only seemed to make him look even more tempting. "Callan!" I exclaimed. "Hi!" I hope he couldn't hear my heart that was unnaturally fast and loud. A grin spread over his lips. "Good morning." Not sure what to say next, I simply absorbed him. He wore casual clothing, jeans, and a grey t-shirt with a rock hanging around his neck. A smile spread over his lips as he caught me looking, and I got butterflies when he sized me up. "You look nice," Callan said. "Beautiful, actu
Callan POV 'Life should never be taken too seriously. We only live once, so why not laugh and have fun while we are here?' —I breathed that motto. Because of it, friends had always come easy to me. I was popular. What could I say? I was a fun guy to be around. Even girls flocked me, but mainly because of my appearance. Being half incubus had it's advantages I guess. But honestly, that kind of sucked.I wasn't stupid. I had eyes and knew I wasn't half-bad to look at. I took care of myself, worked out more than once per week, and my mother called me handsome, so I had that going for me.But I wanted to make a connection, and there was only one person I was drawn to. Only one person made my heart perform somersaults, and the same person also made me dumb.Valentina. The only crush I had ever had. My body wanted her while my soul craved her. But she never looked at me the way I wanted her too. It was as if she was immune to my incubus allure. She looked at me like I was one of her br
Sophia POVI watched Valentina as she moved around the battleground. For some reason, she was having a hard time focusing. She looked nervous. She was usually the most enthusiastic one in the battleground!"Where is your head today, Val? You let Patrick beat you twice already!" Matthew barked.Valentina jolted as if Matthew's voice startled her. "I...I don't know. I guess I didn't have enough sleep last night," she murmured.Hmm...something was wrong with her, I could feel it."Valentina, if you are not feeling well, you should go lie down," I said gently. It has been a week since the ordeal with Liz and Callan. Konrad went to the demon world and opened a portal so Callan and Liz could come back. After that, he let Liz escape and told them never to set foot in this territory again.Because if Alpha Ambrose found out, everyone, including Konrad, would be punished for helping. And none of us wanted that.Maybe Valentina is upset about Callan leaving, I thought to myself. They seemed pre
