Aaron's POV

I closed my eyes and released the breath that I didn't know I was holding as Natalia left my room and slammed the door. I knew that I hurt her, but I didn't know how else to make her leave. If I had apologized and softened my tone a bit, I knew that she would stay and try to make me talk.

My eyes then went to my table where my pills were. I hoped that she didn't see it. I had been taking it for years, and I had no problem hiding it. I could not sleep without it. I had not been able to sleep since the day I lost my family.

That night, Elder Reuben gave me a sleeping pill as I could not seem to sleep. I had stolen more from him and it sustained me for a while, before I stole the whole container. Lucky for me, he did not notice.

With time, I increaed my intake and now I had to get stronger drugs which I still end up abusing. I was addicted, and I was certain that I would never be free of it. I also took other pills that helped me calm my head from time to time, and tonight ha
