Two Faced Alexander

Grace got home that morning and stormed into the living room. She headed straight for a wine glass, gulping down several shots, and then began pacing angrily from one corner of the room to another.

Alexander saw her and walked up to her, trying to calm her down.

"What’s wrong, Mother? Where were you last night?" he asked, looking worried. He had never seen his mother so angry before.

"Where is that thing?" Grace shouted, her voice rising to a yell.

"What thing? What are you talking about, Mum? Can you calm down and stop pacing?" Alexander roared, clearly frustrated.

"Where is Amelia?" Grace demanded again.

"Amelia is not a thing, Mum," Alexander pointed out.

"Oh, Alexander, you must be a fool to think you've won just because you have her here, even for a moment—"

"A moment? What do you mean by that?" Alexander interrupted.

"I'm here. What do you want from me this time?" Amelia asked as she burst in. She walked slowly, her stomach noticeably bulging.
