Chapter four

"Can you tell us what's going on?" Caspian was casually gazing at his gold pocket watch when Tommaso inquired. He grinned wickedly and raised his attention to the elders, who were all looking at him with wide eyes.

He lifted an eyebrow to appear ignorant. "What?"

Garrett shook his head and heaved an exasperated sigh. "This kid,"

"The female you brought into the castle, who was she?" The elders all looked at Fernando expectantly as Fernando roared, and they all started to mumble.

Caspian laughed incredulously. They had a keen interest in Mona? He wasn't surprised because they constantly interfered with his life by bringing in women who were willing to have sex with him in the vain hope that one of them would be his mate or would bear him a child, but he didn't care because none of them could because none of them was his mate.

"Is she your mate?"

"You brought her in yourself. Her identity is unknown. Why can't we identify who or what she is?"

"She was disgusting."

"She is merely a desired visitor. There is nothing to worry about." Caspian uttered a long sigh before returning his attention to the pocket watch.

The elders regarded him with an inquisitive gaze.

"You personally went to look into the incident, didn't you? Did you find her there?" Fernando questioned abruptly, and the elders all looked at him as if he had done something wrong, but he appeared completely unconcerned.

"No."

The elders all turned to look at Caspian, showing disbelief at his direct response.

"So, where did you find her?" Garrett enquired.

"It is now quite late. You all need to depart because I need some alone time in my castle without you elderly people." With a firm tone and a high head, Caspian spoke.

He spun his heels and slowly walked out of the room while putting the gold pocket watch in his pocket as the elders all gave him angry looks in response to what he had said.

Given that they were unable to discern what Mona actually was, there was no way he was going to reveal that she was his mate. Eventually, they would give up and classify her as a human.

....

It was past midnight.

Mona was lying on the bed, rubbing her grumbling tummy as the castle was dead silent. She pursed her lips in irritation and scrunched her face in anguish.

After Caspian left, nobody else entered the room, not even servants to take care of her. She didn't bother to clean herself up because there was no outfit in the wardrobe to change into.

"Some people can truly get famished from this revenge thing. Who on earth would abandon his mate in hunger?" Mona grumbled and pushed herself off of the chair before heading for the door.

The only option left was for her to go out and get supper herself.

She opened the door, entering the dim corridor, and carefully shut it behind her. Although the solitude was eerie, her hunger was more terrifying.

She started moving in the direction Caspian had walked, in her memory. When she thought about how he had taken her in his arms, her heart started to beat quickly. He had a pleasing, alluring fragrance of his own. His rose oil-infused manly smell lingered. His deep voice was innately enticing, and each word he said had the cadence of a beguiling lullaby.

Mona stopped walking as she became aware of how much she was thinking about him. "What?!" She whirled around and whispered as she walked quickly till she was in front of an elevator.

It was obviously going to be faster than the stairs.

She recalled that Caspian had followed the stairs while carrying her. "He moved so fast. Shit! I thought I was heavy." She muttered, pursing her lips.

She pushed the button with a shrug, and the door flung open. When she walked in, she checked the buttons to confirm that she was on the fifth floor.

Interesting.

She put it on the ground floor and slowly moved back.

In no time, the door opened, she hurriedly exited, emerging in another dim hallway, and she started eagerly scanning the area for any indication of a kitchen or refrigerator. Anything that might contain food!

Suddenly, a mouthwatering aroma caught her attention and led her to pursue it. She was greatly relieved to find herself in a big, opulent kitchen that made her jaw drop. Her eyes spotted a huge refrigerator, and her legs ran there before her thoughts could describe it. It was pulled open by her hands to expose an abundance of fruits, pies, and chocolate ice cream.

But, where did that smell come from?

She quickly took out the bowl of ice cream, grinned pleasantly, and spooned some into her mouth, clutching her face due to the terrible brain freeze that had struck her.

"My chocolate ice cream." She froze as she heard a familiar, soothing voice reverberating behind her that unexpectedly sounded dejected.

She sensed his imposing presence behind her and anticipated feeling hate, but all she experienced instead was a draw toward him that caused her to turn to face him.

The source of the mouthwatering aroma was revealed as he held a tray of various steamed scrumptious delicacies. But he didn't look happy.

She was staring at him in shock with the spoon in her mouth, chocolate ice cream rubbing against the sides of her lips.

As she took a step backward to remove the spoon from her mouth, Caspian heaved a heavy sigh, set the tray on the table next to him, and then approached her.

"Don't get any closer!" She raised her voice like a mouse attempting to sound tougher than a lion. Cute.

"What are you doing here? Why did you leave the room?"

"You didn't tell me not to leave the room,"

"Neither did I tell you to leave the room, lavender,"

Mona blinked at him then rolled her eyes. "We are even."

Caspian guffawed. The trembling girl disappeared, but where to?

"I don't even." He hissed deeply, pushing his hair back.

Mona took a deep breath. Finding his every movements deeply seductive, she froze as he abruptly grabbed her wrist and the ice cream bowl.

"No one rolls their eyes at me."

He glared softly, she blinked rapidly.

He set the bowl on the table and drew her closer, putting his arms around her petite form and grinning maliciously as she stared up at him, shocked.

"Do you know what I do to rude girls like you?" He suddenly asked, his crimson eyes burning sinisterly with delight.

"I.."

"I spank them." He drew her in closer, prompting a gasp from her as their chests pressed against each other. "Hard."

Dante, who was in his arms, was looking curiously at the fire and clapping excitedly."Playing with a child in that manner is not appropriate." Justice bemoaned to Roman, who appeared to be completely deaf, while carrying a small child who bore a striking resemblance to Tiana."He will not listen to you." Angelo said, walking behind him with two identical toddler boys in his arms.Justice scoffed, looking at the little girl and poking her cute little face. "What do you think, Bella? Isn't that dangerous?"Bella only nodded shyly and buried her face in his chest.Justice chuckled. "Why don't we open the gifts now that dinner is ove

*Six months later*"Check out this gorgeous ring! Look at this freaking ring!" Roman glared, his eyes like stars, as he repeatedly shoved his ringed hand in Ramona's face. He did not really stop when Ramona continued to push his hand away, groaning in frustration as she did so."I got it! Javier proposed to you and Michelle!" Ramona lost her temper and slapped his hand off."Yes!" At last, Roman took his hand off her face and straightened up.Ramona groaned, rolling her eyes. "Shuu!""Come on, come on. You and Caspian have already tied the knot, your love has remained strong, you have a child together, and their kind and our kind are now very close.""And you keep bringing me to Eonia." Ramona gave him a stern look. Roman sat beside her, giving a rose he had picked from the rose bush next to them."Tell me about this thing called marriage." He blinked naively and whispered."It is demanding, but you are capable of handling it." Ramona muttered and took the rose from him."I am not su

"The spell is still on.""How is that possible?" Lorenzo asked, completely shocked.Declan shook his head. "That old hag is always one step ahead."Roman smiled, raising his brows continuously. "That old hag seems to be your object of desire. I am going to dig my hands into her chest, so you better confess. Or would you rather see her black heart in my hands?"Declan winced at those words. "Haha! Great joke."Roman tsked, his fingers clenched. "We better find him then. Did you not put a tracking spell on him? He will definitely lead us to my sister, I am confident.""I do not think it would be a good idea if we all went." Pursing her lips, Tiana muttered."Well..." Tommaso's voice shot out from behind."More bad news?" They all turned to face an extremely tense Tommaso, and Justice asked with a fak

Ramona took a deep breath, feeling her throat tighten even more than it had before. Her body was hurting and cramping all over, and she could feel her body heating up to an extremely high temperature. Her heart was also beating so slowly. It did not matter that she was pregnant—a dragon like her was meant to be this hot.Feeling a small itch on her body, she let out a loud groan of discomfort as she tried to move her body. Nevertheless, there was no solace to be found from the excitement at which the chains shackles around her ankles rattled. Rather, the sound simply made her feel more agitated, and she gritted her teeth in an attempt to break through with what little strength she had left. It was pointless. She had no idea that she would become this heavily pregnant and find herself locked in a dark basement until three months prior, when Nessa abducted her and threw her down the basement stairs. She had been sleeping on the hard wooden floor, being fed by some mages who possessed h

She yanked away from him, rushed out of the elevator and pressed the button to close the doors before he could step out."Find Justice!" She yelled, running away in the ballroom's direction.Caspian sighed deeply, fighting the urge to knock down the doors in order to go after her. Finding Justice was the only thing he could do at the moment.Sadly, as the doors opened, revealing the old mage, he knew right away that they weren't thinking about the same thing. She stepped back, giggling, "Happy birthday, my handsome grandson."There was no emotion on Caspian's face, no words, no feelings.
