Alpha Ace's POV

"Holy shit!"

It was Gwen, barely breathing as if Delphine had punished her severely. The dark purple bruises were already visible, along with her scratched face.

It only took us a few moments for us to understand the situation. Gwen was severely beaten up, and it was clear that Delphine wanted her to suffer.

I just found myself brimming with tears; my knees suddenly gave out and made me fall to the ground, sobbing heavily.

"This is unethical!" I yelled angrily as my tears kept streaming down. My hands quivered as I held Gwen in a tight embrace. "Tell me this is not true, Israel!"

I looked at him with pure misery.

Without hesitation, we pulled the fabric away from Gwen's face revealing an even more dreadful sight than before. The skin on the right side of her neck was completely ripped open. Her lips were chapped and bleeding. She wasn't conscious. She was unconscious.

Suddenly, I remembered his promise last time. I pulled his collar forcefully. "You said you would pro

Alpha Ace's POVThe morning is cold, and the sun is shining, but there's a dark cloud. It looks like rain, but there are no clouds in sight. I was standing solemnly staring at the dark grey clouds for about five minutes until my gaze redirected to Gwen, who was now lying on the bed. She was still unconscious, but her breathing showed she wasn't dead. I sat down next to her and gently stroked her cheek with the back of my hand before I leaned forward to kiss her forehead. I glanced at her for the second time and mumbled, "Can you please wake up and be okay?" I tried my tears not to fall any more, but I failed miserably. "Please, Gwen. Please just open your eyes." I whispered desperately to myself before I looked up again, "I don't understand how this can happen. This is unforgivable."With that, I stood up and kissed her, devoured by my love. After that, I decided to go inside and let her family take care of her and give me some space for a little while. The only thing that could le

Alpha Ace's POV We've been walking into the forest for almost two hours. We haven't seen anyone except for a few birds who occasionally fly across our path. Just like my emotional state, the weather seems dull and depressing, which doesn't make any sense. The sky is still bright, so nothing should be raining or snowing. It just feels like there is something wrong. Everything feels off, as if everything was supposed to turn bad. And when I strived to fathom what precisely it was, the answer remained empty. Suddenly, the wind starts to pick up. The clouds in the sky started getting darker and darker, and I swear I could hear thunder rolling behind them. But we have to keep going, for goodness sake. "Do you think the fairies will agree?" I asked Zak who was walking silently with me. Zak shrugged. "They might." "But do you believe they would?" "Yeah, they probably would, but it's our only chance. Even if the fairies refuse to join us, it's better than doing nothing. We'll try to co

Gwen's POVMy eyes fluttered open when I woke up to the sound of various noises from the outside. At first, I didn't move but observed the entire room, only to realize that there were no people around aside from me and my sister, who was now in a deep slumber beside me.As far as I remember, Delphine was trying so hard to get my blood until I lost consciousness. How did I get here?A few minutes later, sister Filomena moved, and she was surprised upon seeing me as she opened her eyes. "You're awake! Finally!"Immediately, she pulled me into a tight, soothing embrace, signifying how she missed me. I hugged her back until I heard her sobbing, which earned a slight pain in me. I know how much I made them worried about me. "Wait here, Gwen. I'll apprise them."Without hesitation, she stood up and headed outside the room. I heard a small commotion then it got quiet. Soon enough, she came back with my mother, father, Mr. Rivo and Mrs. Athena, along with their pack and subordinates. There

  • Tempting the Silver Werewolf   Chapter 68. Exhaustion

Gwen's POV "Matt?" the tears came rushing from my eyes instantly as I saw him. I wanted to run forward and throw myself into his arms, but my body was frozen. I'm still feeling vulnerable right now, too fragile due to the blood loss. He walked slowly toward me. His eyes were full of untold misery as if he wanted to shriek upon seeing me. My sister stood up and quickly vanished. Matt sat beside me and pulled me into a tight embrace. My wolf couldn't help but wail, considering the fact that my best friend was finally here with me, giving me the thing I'd been lingering for. With that, my tears began trickling as gushing fell, and so he was. It pained me to remember how our last encounter ended, but it vanished like ash and shifted into merriment. "I missed you…." I stuttered as I hugged him back, trying to contain my emotions. I had spent so much time without seeing or hearing his voice over the past few weeks. The first few days were the worst, especially after we parted ways. "I

Gwen's POV “Why did you do that?” I asked in disbelief. “You put some herbal on it. So why…” I was cut off when he smiled. “What are you grinning, huh?” “Come one, Gwen. You know how much I’m willing to do anything for you. I just want you to know that whatever you’ve been through…” he trailed off, his aura altered into something mush. “I’m always here. In whatever you do, and even at your worst. So please, eat. I can join you if you want.” My heart wanted to scream the warmth that kept shrouding my entire soul. Matt has always been kind to me, and I never thought him to be this so thoughtful after all the bad things that had transpired between us. I caused him so much pain, but he was still here, tenacious and inclined to stay with me, even though it was clear from the beginning that we had the most grievous last encounter. A smile gradually formed on my lips as I took the bowl from him. “I can do it, Matt.” “You sure?” I nodded. With that settled, I began eating and digest

  • Tempting the Silver Werewolf   Chapter 70. His suggestion

"I'm not going to condone such a plan." Everyone was stupefied at Matt, who seemed disgruntled. The sobriety could be viewed in his eyes, and as much as possible, I don't want to oppose his words. Alpha Ace glanced at him, clearly appalled. "Can you repeat, Beta?" "You heard me. I'm not going to condone your plan. You're just making her life miserable." Alpha Ace stood up upon hearing those words. "Matt… can we just hear his proposition? I think he had the rights anyway," sister Filomena intervened. "Why don't we hear him first?" "Yeah, right. And Zak also suggested that idea including the fairies," Rini said. I swallowed hard, striving to avoid the tension bubbling in the atmosphere. "Don't get him wrong. He's just worried," I stated. "You can continue, Alpha." When they finally settled, Alpha loosened up and sat back beside me. I can feel how he restrained his sentiments from staying calm but internally wanted to give him a reward. "The fairies agreed with our plan to take

  • Tempting the Silver Werewolf   Chapter 71. Tranquility

Gwen's POV The morning is too warm, soothing, and bright as the sun gleamed in the sky.The tranquility could feel throughout the forest—no sounds of danger, threats, or even signs of adverse circumstances. And this is my favorite, to feel secure and in a calming state. And yes, I am better now than yesterday, than last day. It's been three days since my recovery, and I feel much more comfortable than before, but it still hasn't been enough. The pain remained. My back aches from lying on the hardwood floor for so long without proper rest to recover, and my mind has not yet recovered from shock over what just happened to me and what Delphine has done to me. However, I'm trying to keep my emotions at bay and concentrate on other things because that's the only way to do well. I don't want to show weakness. That would be a huge mistake. So every day, I practice and train myself to keep my mind and heart focused on an essential thing in this world; to stay robust in the best way I can.I

Gwen's POV "Lady Catheleia?"I gasped in astonishment as she emerged with five werewolves with silver fur and black eyes that glinted eerily, following her lead. They strode toward me and ceased at arm's length, staring at me intently; their expressions were stern, their stances confident and determined. However, their gaze shifted into worry.Lady Catheleia caressed my cheek with the tip of one claw as she looked deeply into my eyes. Her gaze softened until she pulled me closer to her embrace. She nuzzled my hair lovingly as she murmured, "You are okay... you have nothing to fear." My wolf was relieved to hear those words coming from her. We listened to her voice even if we couldn't see her lips moving. This was the first time she hugged me and showed me unconditional care, but the fact that she was hugging me now made the moment even better. Violet wolf whined in delight inside me. This is what the mother of the silver werewolf embraces. Very pacifying. Lady Catheleia's arms are li

Gwen's POV I shifted into a silver werewolf and attacked the first vampire who tried to come close to me. For every attempt of an enemy toward me, I snapped his neck with one of my claws until blood flowed freely down his throat. There was no way I would go after them without getting at least a couple of hits. I could not count how many foes I had killed today, but each one left me satisfied in ways that nothing else could. I glanced to the right side and saw my parents, Vera with Valir, fighting off five vampires at once, using their claws to slash their throats open as quickly as if they were swatting mosquitoes away. On the other side, I saw the Packs, Israel, and the other witches fighting off another group of enemies. The fairies were helping out with the battle on their end as well. The shield they were casting toward us was impenetrable against any magical attack. And it was also holding back all of the attacks and then throwing them back to the enemies. The war conti

Valir was taken aback as if he couldn't believe that his wife is finally here in front of him. He walked toward her and caressed her face with his warm hands. "Oh god... you're alive." Vera smiled at her husband, who is now looking down on her. She wrapped her arms around Valir's neck and kissed him passionately. The tears began to form again, as Valir can feel Vera's soft lips on his and can't help but kiss back passionately, wrapping his arms around her waist tightly. After a few minutes of a passionate kiss, the couple slowly parted. Both were out of breath. Vera wiped away her tears, looked at her husband lovingly, and whispered, "Who made this?" Valir pointed at me with a smile, tears of joy were visible in their eyes and I could not help but feel happy for both of them. "Gwen granted my favor. She resurrected you," Israel explained. Suddenly, Valir amb

Before I could accompany him, my parents and Israel talked to me first. They are worried but the witches and fairies suggested that Valir's intention was real. And I have to give a shot to end this battle with no one being harmed or killed. Afterward, the fairies, watches, and Israel decided to come with me to ensure that Valir and his companions would not gonna hurt her. I know they all are worried for me. They also know there was another way to end this war. And that is to do this man's favor. Currently, we were walking into the forest surrounded by numerous huge trees that seemed to be ancient. The air around us was not polluted but somehow different from the usual forest. We walked slowly as the gust of wind blew at us gently. It didn't seem to bother us but the forest itself was weirdly quiet. I could sense a stink in th

Gwen's POV"My wife is dead, and I want to resurrect her."The moment Valir said those words, I felt sad for him, not only because he lost a woman who meant the world to him, but also because of the bitter fact that he chose to become evil. "You want her back?" I asked him as I strode a few steps. He nodded. "Then why do you have to kill numerous innocent creatures in this land? Why do you have to watch in your own eyes how hard they suffer? Why do you keep spreading cruelty when there's a way to become one of us!""That's the only way to resurrect my wife! You know nothing about my pain!""I know your pain. I lost someone because of you! I lost my sister and my best friend!" I yelled with all anger as I remembered everything. Gwen's POVIn just an instant where we emerged outside my house. The view that greeted us was too unexpected.Everyone was having a massive fight with our enemies. "Gwen! Careful in every way!" Israel warned before he attacked the black werewolves. He is a half-witch and half werewolf but he prefers fighting in a human form where he can use his magic to kill.I scanned the entire surrounding and realized that even my parents were currently in a fight. The enemy is many, and I couldn't count them all by hand. They're running around everywhere, making everything worse.I hide behind the thick bush and quickly transformed into my silver wolf form. I ran at full speed towards where they were fighting. In just a blink of an eye, I'm among them and immediately attacked the wolves attacking Rini. Since I am silver, I can take out three or four of the enemies. One of the remaining creatures decided it was time to attack my father and so I dashed and jumped on him. I bit down on his neck wit

Gwen's POV"I wanna show you something to you, Gwen. If you're into it, close your eyes."My curiosity became even more heightened with the mention of what could happen. My heart started beating faster and the cold air around me started to become chilly as well. This was it. I closed my eyes and waited. After the briefest second had passed I felt someone's hand taking mine and guiding me. "Don't open unless I say so.""Sure."We stopped moving for about ten seconds. Some noises echoed around us in the air. The sound of a peaceful night where birds chirped at the moon's reflection off the calm lake water. My eyes were still closed but my lips curled into a moon crescent."Now, open your eyes."My eyes immediately opened. We were no longer standing outside the house. Instead, we were standing in a place completely different from anything I'd ever seen. It looked like we were in an underground cavern or a cave under a rock somewhere. Everything seemed extremely bright as if a light bul

  • Tempting the Silver Werewolf   Chapter 118. Curiosity

Gwen's POVHere I am outside the house, conversing with my allies. The Aqua Rune Pack, fairies, witches, and the other subordinates who support us in this messy journey of mine. The truth that I'd been hiding for quite a long time was now revealed. All of them knows I was a silver werewolf and my blood can both heal and kill. This ability was given to only a few creatures and despite its advantage of it, I can't help but feel guilty especially with the fact that this ability failed to save my sister. For the very first time in my history, I felt like mucky trash because of that. But all I could do to make my sister happy was to keep fighting and be the best version of myself. While we were occupied chatting with one another, one of the fairies floated in the air as if she needs to convey important matters."Another battle will soon break out between us and vampires" she began. "We need to be vigilant."I was stunned to hear those declarations and another pang struck me in the chest.

Gwen's POVIt was early in the morning when I woke up and got up from bed to start my day. I glanced at my side only to see that Alpha wasn't here with me. Soon as my gaze diverted to the bedside table next to where I was lying on it I could see a glass of water sitting there along with a note written in her messy cursive. 'Good morning. You must have been tired since you first encountered the real life of a silver werewolf, so I didn't wake you up. You've done so many things for us and me. It's my turn, my luna. I love you.'I gasped lightly feeling a lump form in the back of my throat before wiping away my tears. I sat up and grabbed the glass of water and gulped it down without hesitation. After putting the empty glass back on the side table.Where did he go?I walked out and went to the kitchen downstairs. "Good morning, sweetheart." mom approached and kissed me on the forehead. I smiled softly at her and nodded. My mother has always taken care of me. From the beginning, she did

Gwen's POVTwo have passed ever since my sister was killed by one of our greatest foes. I don't feel anything other than the sorrow of losing someone so dear to me and I know that my parents feel the same pain as well. The exact scene of how the black werewolf slain her was still vivid in my mind like a nightmare and if it's just a dream, then I want to wake up. But it isn't. She's dead and now there is nothing left for me but grief and the guilt I've been carrying around with me. Every time I recollected our memories together, it always brought up fresh tears that would fall from my eyes and I didn't even bother wiping them away. I just wanted to relish everything even if that means torturing myself with the fact that it was just a memory that will not be able to happen again. I couldn't help but blame myself for what happened because I knew that I should have done something to save her but I was so dumb. I tried my very best to heal her that time but it didn't work.
