Gwen's POV

I was just staring at the tree with a heart full of hopelessness, and my heart thumped aggressively as if a thousand horses were galloping behind it. With every piece of memory that swam past me like a tide, it became harder and harder to believe they belonged to the past instead of being present at this moment.

I wonder if this is the destiny that awaits us now or if everything I experienced would still happen. The thoughts kept dashing through my head until my rowdy thoughts turned into agonizing pain as the pain became unbearable for the first time since I came here.

Suddenly, the tears started streaming from my eyes without warning, but I didn't try to stop them. Instead, I let them flow freely from each corner of my eyes with trembling hands.

While in the middle of my misery, a gust of wind blew across and carried away some fallen leaves, making it clear that there was a presence around here.

But I gasped because I could sense that there was someone nearby, not just

Gwen's POVI smooth my hands over the fabric of my dress, a deep purple and shimmering as a diamond. The skirt flares up at the bottom in a sweeping train. It's sleeveless, just enough to be comfortable but still show off my slender figure. My chest is completely exposed, a small round silver pendant dangles from my neck, and I swear, I love how feminine it looks against me. My lips curl into an impish smile when I remember wearing it first. It was my first night with Alpha Ace, including our family and other packs. It was a gift from Mrs. Athena, the other of my mate. It's been a while since she saw me in my dress, or at least the one I wear for tonight's party."You're so beautiful, my Lil sis! I missed how you clad yourself that way," my sister approached me. Her eyes were gleaming in excitement, and her voice filled with glee. "So are you, my sister! I can't be like this without you." I faced her and watched how gorgeous she was. She'd always had my good side. She was pretty much

Gwen's POVTwo hours had passed by when Alpha brought me to the place where we first met. It felt surreal to be there again after so long a time and yet still feel like nothing has changed. The memories are still clear as day in my head, like morning sunlight. We decided to return to my home, where the party was already underway. The outside surrounding is filled with numerous tables, chairs, and delicious foods and drinks that were available there. We walked to the center part, where many packs were chatting, and I spotted many familiar faces. They greeted us cheerfully, and some of the people who recognized me hugged me. Our family was also enjoying the moment outside and was having fun as usual. There were even some young wolves playing around and having fun.Alpha and I halted at the right corner. His hand wrapped my waist from behind while he rested his chin on my head. We just stood watching everything."Alpha, do you think Delphine was dead?" a sudden question fled my lips wi

Gwen's POV I jerked my head to the side and scanned the area for the source of the new scent when I found that it came from her. It was her. It was Lily. She stood about three miles away, looking at me like she wanted to talk. She didn't wave or call out or do anything other than look at me. Her expression remained as neutral as ever. After the briefest second, she turned around and ambled to the left corner, where no people were. "Wait for me here, Alpha. I'll talk to her," I excused myself, but his face was laced without complete disapproval. "No. I'll come with you, Gwen." The worry in his voice made my heart clench. Alpha's worried expression made my heart clench even more, and he could see right through me. "You sure it won't bother you?" "No. As long I'm with you, I'm gonna be fine. I told you, I'm not gonna let you do anything alone." his tone became firmer. He took my hand firmly into his own and squeezed it reassuringly. "Yeah, of course, you can. As we promised, ri

Gwen's POVThe party ended with merriment on everyone's part. We were currently resting in our respective homes. But Alpha Ace is with me now, lying beside me on my bed. He was already in a deep slumber, his hands loosely clasping around mine, indicating how much he wanted us not to separate. I was smiling at that scene. I looked at him admiringly. My hands moved up to his face, caressing every part of it before going up his forehead, brushing against the short blonde strands; then my fingers slowly went through the strands, playing softly with them before I pulled away. His eyes fluttered, but it was enough for me to know he saw me."Hey," I whispered. He smiled and kissed me. "Sorry for waking you up.""Don't apologize. I want to open it as long as you are the view worth waking up for. And it looks better than this window view from here." his lips moved upwards slightly into one of his charming smiles while I giggled. I could see that his mind was still in slumber mode. He stared

Gwen's POVI woke up with a heavy heart and a cold sweat on my forehead and neck in the middle of my bed.The dream was so real that even though I knew it would not happen, it still seemed like a memory. I had a hard time believing that all those moments were just a dream. That all was a bad sign, but not a good one. "Gwen?""She's awake!".I could hear the voices of my sister calling out my name until my parents emerged in the doorway of the room. I felt relief when I saw them though I did not want them to see me like this. Not when they already have such a hard time accepting everything that had transpired to us.My mother smiled at me when she saw me sitting on my bed. "How's your feeling?" she asked. She looked tired, her eyes swollen. She must have been crying. "Better." I lied. The words tasted bitter on my tongue. I don't feel well emotionally again, but I can tell I am fine physically since the pain is gone already. After an awkward silence, my father said, "Come on, Gwen.

Gwen's POV Two hours have gone by since we'd gotten back to the house. Alpha Ace informed everyone about what had transpired, and we brought the piece of clothing to ensure that this belonged to Matt. We showed it to my family, and I was right because even they could still vividly remember how Matt clad himself in this cloth. A burning rage replaced my dried tears, and I tried to quell it before losing control. My body trembled in frustration and fury. I am standing outside the house while the Aqua Rune Pack and Alpha are discussing our next steps. I knew they would have more than one opinion of me, and I badly wanted that, not now that my heart was torn apart. The Aqua Rune Pack was not just composed of Alpha, Omega, and Beta. There were many subgroups which are called the Clans, and there were also some other smaller Packs that joined us. Unfortunately, not all of them are aware of my identity as a silver. While I was in deep thought, a loud screeching sound made my head sna

Matt's POVI woke up to the sound of annoying laughter coming from somewhere nearby. I opened my eyes and caught gloomy surroundings, unusual things around me, and strange creatures that kept gawking at me like I was some kind of alien. My hand was tied above my head with heavy chains, and my feet were tied together tightly. It didn't help that my wrists were chafing so much that they stung, making it hard for me to breathe correctly. And yes.I was abducted by five creatures in a human form clad in a black cloak. I had no idea what kind of creature they were because I'd never seen or heard about them. I scrutinized the entire surrounding, filled with a bowl of blood. I could sense it, and honestly too much to handle, and I started breathing heavily as if someone had just poured acid on me and made it go through my whole body slowly.Suddenly the hooded figures appeared from out of nowhere. He walked slowly towards me and took my chin forcefully, forcing me to look straight into hi

The day rolled up with curiosity, but I don't know why I ever felt any more fear since he declared his offer, which I find reasonable in the other side of me. "How are you, Matt? I am guessing you have a perfect answer now," a voice behind me interrupted my musings. "So, what is your final answer, Matt?" "You expect me to agree with you? Seriously? How can I trust you? You can't even introduce yourself to me." "Call me Aragon. That's what they call me." "Why do you keep going back to a place where no one treats you right and makes you feel like garbage? Why don't you just go back to a place where someone is inclined to uphold you, to accept you and cast you an extraordinary power that no one has ever been able to achieve," he elucidated. His eyes were glowing as he talked with this enthusiasm. "And if I tell you why I'm here, will you b

Gwen's POV I shifted into a silver werewolf and attacked the first vampire who tried to come close to me. For every attempt of an enemy toward me, I snapped his neck with one of my claws until blood flowed freely down his throat. There was no way I would go after them without getting at least a couple of hits. I could not count how many foes I had killed today, but each one left me satisfied in ways that nothing else could. I glanced to the right side and saw my parents, Vera with Valir, fighting off five vampires at once, using their claws to slash their throats open as quickly as if they were swatting mosquitoes away. On the other side, I saw the Packs, Israel, and the other witches fighting off another group of enemies. The fairies were helping out with the battle on their end as well. The shield they were casting toward us was impenetrable against any magical attack. And it was also holding back all of the attacks and then throwing them back to the enemies. The war conti

Valir was taken aback as if he couldn't believe that his wife is finally here in front of him. He walked toward her and caressed her face with his warm hands. "Oh god... you're alive." Vera smiled at her husband, who is now looking down on her. She wrapped her arms around Valir's neck and kissed him passionately. The tears began to form again, as Valir can feel Vera's soft lips on his and can't help but kiss back passionately, wrapping his arms around her waist tightly. After a few minutes of a passionate kiss, the couple slowly parted. Both were out of breath. Vera wiped away her tears, looked at her husband lovingly, and whispered, "Who made this?" Valir pointed at me with a smile, tears of joy were visible in their eyes and I could not help but feel happy for both of them. "Gwen granted my favor. She resurrected you," Israel explained. Suddenly, Valir amb

Before I could accompany him, my parents and Israel talked to me first. They are worried but the witches and fairies suggested that Valir's intention was real. And I have to give a shot to end this battle with no one being harmed or killed. Afterward, the fairies, watches, and Israel decided to come with me to ensure that Valir and his companions would not gonna hurt her. I know they all are worried for me. They also know there was another way to end this war. And that is to do this man's favor. Currently, we were walking into the forest surrounded by numerous huge trees that seemed to be ancient. The air around us was not polluted but somehow different from the usual forest. We walked slowly as the gust of wind blew at us gently. It didn't seem to bother us but the forest itself was weirdly quiet. I could sense a stink in th

Gwen's POV"My wife is dead, and I want to resurrect her."The moment Valir said those words, I felt sad for him, not only because he lost a woman who meant the world to him, but also because of the bitter fact that he chose to become evil. "You want her back?" I asked him as I strode a few steps. He nodded. "Then why do you have to kill numerous innocent creatures in this land? Why do you have to watch in your own eyes how hard they suffer? Why do you keep spreading cruelty when there's a way to become one of us!""That's the only way to resurrect my wife! You know nothing about my pain!""I know your pain. I lost someone because of you! I lost my sister and my best friend!" I yelled with all anger as I remembered everything. "I will tell you now, Valir... you can never resurrect your wife no matter how numerous creatures or silver werewolves you kill!""How could you deduce that?!""Because only my kind... can give another life!""Then why don't you heal your sister if that's tru

Gwen's POVIn just an instant where we emerged outside my house. The view that greeted us was too unexpected.Everyone was having a massive fight with our enemies. "Gwen! Careful in every way!" Israel warned before he attacked the black werewolves. He is a half-witch and half werewolf but he prefers fighting in a human form where he can use his magic to kill.I scanned the entire surrounding and realized that even my parents were currently in a fight. The enemy is many, and I couldn't count them all by hand. They're running around everywhere, making everything worse.I hide behind the thick bush and quickly transformed into my silver wolf form. I ran at full speed towards where they were fighting. In just a blink of an eye, I'm among them and immediately attacked the wolves attacking Rini. Since I am silver, I can take out three or four of the enemies. One of the remaining creatures decided it was time to attack my father and so I dashed and jumped on him. I bit down on his neck wit

Gwen's POV"I wanna show you something to you, Gwen. If you're into it, close your eyes."My curiosity became even more heightened with the mention of what could happen. My heart started beating faster and the cold air around me started to become chilly as well. This was it. I closed my eyes and waited. After the briefest second had passed I felt someone's hand taking mine and guiding me. "Don't open unless I say so.""Sure."We stopped moving for about ten seconds. Some noises echoed around us in the air. The sound of a peaceful night where birds chirped at the moon's reflection off the calm lake water. My eyes were still closed but my lips curled into a moon crescent."Now, open your eyes."My eyes immediately opened. We were no longer standing outside the house. Instead, we were standing in a place completely different from anything I'd ever seen. It looked like we were in an underground cavern or a cave under a rock somewhere. Everything seemed extremely bright as if a light bul

  • Tempting the Silver Werewolf   Chapter 118. Curiosity

Gwen's POVHere I am outside the house, conversing with my allies. The Aqua Rune Pack, fairies, witches, and the other subordinates who support us in this messy journey of mine. The truth that I'd been hiding for quite a long time was now revealed. All of them knows I was a silver werewolf and my blood can both heal and kill. This ability was given to only a few creatures and despite its advantage of it, I can't help but feel guilty especially with the fact that this ability failed to save my sister. For the very first time in my history, I felt like mucky trash because of that. But all I could do to make my sister happy was to keep fighting and be the best version of myself. While we were occupied chatting with one another, one of the fairies floated in the air as if she needs to convey important matters."Another battle will soon break out between us and vampires" she began. "We need to be vigilant."I was stunned to hear those declarations and another pang struck me in the chest.

Gwen's POVIt was early in the morning when I woke up and got up from bed to start my day. I glanced at my side only to see that Alpha wasn't here with me. Soon as my gaze diverted to the bedside table next to where I was lying on it I could see a glass of water sitting there along with a note written in her messy cursive. 'Good morning. You must have been tired since you first encountered the real life of a silver werewolf, so I didn't wake you up. You've done so many things for us and me. It's my turn, my luna. I love you.'I gasped lightly feeling a lump form in the back of my throat before wiping away my tears. I sat up and grabbed the glass of water and gulped it down without hesitation. After putting the empty glass back on the side table.Where did he go?I walked out and went to the kitchen downstairs. "Good morning, sweetheart." mom approached and kissed me on the forehead. I smiled softly at her and nodded. My mother has always taken care of me. From the beginning, she did

Gwen's POVTwo have passed ever since my sister was killed by one of our greatest foes. I don't feel anything other than the sorrow of losing someone so dear to me and I know that my parents feel the same pain as well. The exact scene of how the black werewolf slain her was still vivid in my mind like a nightmare and if it's just a dream, then I want to wake up. But it isn't. She's dead and now there is nothing left for me but grief and the guilt I've been carrying around with me. Every time I recollected our memories together, it always brought up fresh tears that would fall from my eyes and I didn't even bother wiping them away. I just wanted to relish everything even if that means torturing myself with the fact that it was just a memory that will not be able to happen again. I couldn't help but blame myself for what happened because I knew that I should have done something to save her but I was so dumb. I tried my very best to heal her that time but it didn't work.
