As soon as I climb inside his car, I have this feeling like I want to turn back and cancel the whole thing.

This is undoubtedly fear.

I glance at him. He seems pleased by what he’s looking at, which makes me feel even more humiliated and not at all defiant. I hate this man. He ruined me. Things were okay when there was the chance that I would do the same to him, but I don’t see how that’s going to happen tonight.
