Crazy Idea

The next morning…

Aura went about her day as usual. Waking up, showering, having breakfast, and then isolating herself in her music studio, hoping to create a new song. But the result was nil! Let alone a new song, Aura's mind is becoming even more chaotic! Damn!

Aura finds it challenging to concentrate, her mind was filled with thoughts of Axel and his words from the previous night. Words that made Aura's heart skip a beat in fear.

Pregnant? Oh my God! Aura had never dared to imagine such a thing! She wasn't ready! Even just hearing about it felt terrifying! There were still many things Aura wanted to achieve in her life. She didn't want the presence of a child at the wrong time to derail her life plans! Aura wouldn’t sacrifice her career for an unplanned baby, would she? Is she being selfish?

It was a different for Axel, who was now in front of Aura's house. He was dressed casually, looking much more relaxed. Today, he came not as a bodyguard but as an ordinary man wanting to discuss personal matters. What else if not the matter of a few nights ago? Axel is not a cowardly man. Axel doesn’t want to avoid it, he wants to resolve the problems as clearly as possible.

Axel pressed the doorbell and was immediately greeted by one of the servants who knew he was Max's replacement, the previous bodyguard.

"Where is Miss Aura?"

"Do you mean Miss Ae Ra?" the servant asked, a bit confused by Axel's pronunciation, which differed slightly from hers.

Axel tapped his forehead, realizing that Aura was called Ae Ra in this house. Understandable, this was Korea, not Indonesia!

"Oh yes, where is Miss Ae Ra?"

"Miss Ae Ra has been in her music studio since earlier. Just knock," the servant pointed to one of the doors that was tightly closed.

"Alright, thank you."

Axel took a deep breath and knocked on the door, answered by Aura's shout.

"Come in!"

Axel opened the door and found Aura still engrossed with paper and pencil in hand, busy writing a line of sheet music that he couldn't understand, with a guitar resting on her lap. Aura turned and frowned in surprise at Axel's presence.

"Didn't I tell you last night that you don't need to come here because I won't go anywhere?" Aura asked, her brow furrowed, making sure that she didn’t remember it wrong and had already told Axel about it.

"Indeed, but there's still something we need to discuss. And you must know what it's about, right?" Axel replied confidently.

"I feel like there's nothing left to discuss. Didn't I make it clear last night?" Aura quickly retorted, not wanting to extend the discussion about their passionate night. Besides, it was just a one-night stand!

"There is. There's still something we need to talk about, and last night only you spoke, so now it's my turn to talk, Miss!" Axel insisted, making Aura pout in annoyance because Axel was determined to discuss something she wanted to forget. Axel is truly an annoying man!

"What else do you want to talk about?" Aura asked, giving in, realizing that the man in front of her was so stubborn and couldn't be stopped! If possible, Aura wanted to ask Ji Hwan to find a new bodyguard for her, but it seemed unlikely. Her manager would be curious, especially if Aura didn't have a clear reason!

Not to get a replacement for Axel but she had to face the manager's questioning, for sure! Aura was familiar with her manager's behavior!

"Matter of fact, how did you have the key to my room that night?" Axel inquired, seeking any information that could be a clue, forgetting all formalities of language.

It seemed Axel wasn't even aware that he used the word 'you' for Aura instead of the more formal 'Miss' as usual, but Aura didn't mind, especially this wasn't a discussion about work! But a discussion about personal issues.

Axel's question made Aura frown, trying to recall. The same question that has been lingering in Aura’s mind for the past few days.

"I don't know. Your room key suddenly appeared in the pocket of my jacket. I don't even know who put it there. I don't even know when it was put in my jacket pocket! I only realized it in the morning and found two cards in my jacket pocket – yours and mine," Aura admitted.

Yeah, she had pondered over it repeatedly but hadn't found an answer to the troubling question. Or perhaps it was a question without an answer? Because how could she find out now? Especially since it had been several days ago!

"Do you have enemies?" Axel asked, making Aura snort.

"In the entertainment world, it's impossible not to have enemies! There must be many people who are jealous, or maybe there are haters who want something bad to happen to me. And they succeeded in their plan! I fell into their trap, just as they wanted," Aura replied, making Axel feel guilty again.

"I'm not blaming you. Besides, I was also at fault and drunk, so that's how it is," Aura continued, observing Axel's expression.

"But still..."

"Enough, I don't want to discuss it anymore."

"But there are still many things we need to discuss!" Axel argued, making Aura grumble in annoyance, puzzled by the stubbornness of the man in front of her.

What's the point of discussing something that has already happened? Nothing can be fixed! What's lost cannot be regained, right? And besides, Aura didn't ask Axel for any accountability! So why bother getting stressed about it?

"What else?!" Aura asked curtly, a mix of irritation and impatience in her tone.

"What if you're pregnant?"

"I already said I would abort it! Besides, you don't have to worry, I've taken contraceptive pills, so I can't be pregnant!" Aura informed, hoping that Axel would stop bombarding her with pregnancy-related questions. Just hearing about it scared her! Serious, Aura never expected to get pregnant this soon.

"But what if you're still pregnant?"

"It's impossible!"

"Nothing is impossible, Miss!"

"What answer do you want from me? Do you expect me to demand accountability from you for taking my virginity? Is that it?!" Aura replied angrily.

Axel fell silent, busy contemplating Aura's recent words.

"What if I intend to take responsibility?"

Axel's question left Aura wide-eyed, shocked that her bodyguard would suggest such a thing. Responsibility? Aura never expected that from a man she had just met!

"I don’t want that! Besides, what is there to worry about? Isn't it common for a woman my age to no longer be a virgin? So what are you afraid of and worried about? A baby? I can't be pregnant! Get that into your head!" Aura ranted.

"I'm just concerned."

"There's no need to worry about something that won't happen!" Aura quickly interjected. No wanting to be contradicted.

Axel sighed in resignation, it seemed that the young lady was extremely stubborn and difficult to reason with. But Axel couldn't approach this emotionally. There would be no good outcome if emotions played a role in such a serious matter.

"Here's the thing, Miss. Regardless, I still feel uneasy for having done something I shouldn’t have to you. Now I have an idea. I hope you can agree to my suggestion, at least until I am absolutely sure that you are not pregnant my child," Axel said, attempting to negotiate and returning to a formal tone.

Aura furrowed her brow in confusion, curious about what idea Axel had in mind. Especially since the man's face looked very serious!

"So what do you want? What is this idea you're talking about?"

Axel didn't answer immediately, busy watching Aura's face, which seemed curious. Axel stared at Aura without blinking, wanting to see how she would respond to his idea. Accept or reject? Axel took a deep breath and spoke quickly, in one breath.

"Three months. Stay with me for three months. If by then I am truly convinced that you are not pregnant my child, then I won't bother you again about this matter," Axel said without pause, leaving Aura wide-eyed and shocked by the crazy idea that her new bodyguard had just thrown at her!
