With unclouded vision, Elaine observed the medium-sized creeping snakes that were causing the bamboo trunk stacks to collapse and their broods to vanish.

“I now realize that they prey on my hens and pets at night when fewer people are around.”

As they search for victims to consume, the predators are famished.

“We failed to use smoke to drive them away and safeguard our livestock.”

She raises her head in prayer, asking for protection over her food and money sources.

“Lord, you have promised those who follow You to offer what is rightfully Yours instead of trying to get something else. We humbly beseech You in the name of an answered prayer, and we will present You our offerings as soon as we can, confident that You have safeguarded our land and resources for Your glory so that all people can know You, our God who saves and protects Your people in Jesus Christ. Amen.”

Ernest remains nearby, continuing to investigate.
