There! Her first day of seeing him and she pulled off ignoring him. Even though he had gotten up on the table and announced a party. She could pat herself on the back. Great first day effort Lacey. It was hard not to look his way and yet you managed not to. One week and it still felt like it was just five minutes ago that he had said those words. The good news is she's alive. Burnt rubber waft the air. The sound of tires screeching as they turned corners, racing past each other with fierce speed. Lucille pointed at the blue race car with the number thirteen on it the Lawes company logo plastered on the driver's door. "Wes is in third." She bounced Marvin on her lap. Excitement coursed through her when his car passed the second, taking it's place. Nina screamed for some reason. Everyone around them had their eyes on the racing cars screaming at their choices to speed up. "You know I love you Luce." Nina spoke over the loud noise of revving cars and yelling people. "But I don't understand why you let him in. Not to mention allowing him to stay." Lucille glanced at her. "Okay fine. It was cool at first, cause he only got to look at him for a second and leave." "He's only going to hang out with him for a bit. And if I wanted I can make him leave after five minutes. You should have seen the look on his face. He hates what I'm doing. But he knows

Last time he was at her place she slammed the door on him. No different from the last three to four times. Except he tried to hold the door and had his fingers slammed with it. Had to push all the documents he had to sign to Bart. What was it, a day after Bryan told him what his mother had said? Nina had been there. Spouting words he couldn't remember thanks to one too many drinks hours later. Yet here he was again, ready to do what he'd been trying to do more times than he could count. This time, he came with flowers in his good hand... his left hand. The one with the scar. She'd cut him way deep. No suit. A grey shirt and jeans. It was unlike him. But what she saw standing there was a man who was out of his zone. Red eyes, unkempt hair, bandaged right fingers and maybe something else. She didn't pity him. She didn't regret what happened last time he came over. She knew as she assessed him, he had to be wondering what exactly was keeping her from shutting the door again

His car pulled up in front of a hotel. He grabbed a plastic bag from the passenger seat before getting out. He tossed his car keys into the hands of an eager valet who couldn't keep from drooling over the car. He wasn't the only valet drooling, he was just the lucky one. He headed into the hotel with his destination in mind and worry lines on his face. After Lucille took the bag from him and gave him a smile that reduced his worry lines, they settled on the couch a few feet away from the bed where Marvin slept behind them and the television on in front of them. Lucille looked at Wes and sighed. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have bothered you, you just flew in." He smiled, searching her beautiful eyes. "It's okay. Nothing stopped me from refusing." "But you must be tired." "Well, I had been practicing before I came back. My hands are a bit stiff from holding the steering wheel tight all day but I'm used to it. It's no big deal." "At least you got some rest on t

Something hung in the air. But neither of them noticed. Rather they did but they were too busy talking to pay it any mind. Not when they drove into the compound or when they passed Charles when they got in with a look of... something they saw outside on his face. Nina glared for a second then waved it off. What was it? It was defeat. Each one wanted so badly to inform the girls but couldn't under orders. So instead they looked guilty and sad because they were about to be ambushed. They were betraying them. At least it felt that way. Especially for Charles who still didn't mind looking the other way if Lucille decided to kill their intruder. Hell, he'll help. While they rambled on all the way to the dinning hall, Mattie came out of nowhere. "Hi girls." "Hi." They chorused, laughing."Hi darling." She smiled at Marvin in Nina's arms stroking his cheek gently with her index finger. He smiled and she smiled brighter. They all did. "Can I take him?" "Yeah?" Nina handed him over

Nick sighed as he walked out of the office building. Every attempt to talk to Lucille had been met with anger. She wouldn't let him speak. He'd gone to her house and she shut the door in his face again. He was sure the door would break with the amount of force she slammed it with. His first time to her office, he had been informed she wasn't in. It didn't stop him from seeing her silhouette. Her face buried in her hands. Since he couldn't get her to see him, maybe he'll ambush her. Great. Look what he's turned into. He found her in the park carry Marvin. His heart skipped a beat the second he saw them. And every time he thought of them it skipped again. They were a bit far off. And some woman stood beside Lucille holding a stroller. From Lucille's skirt suit he could tell she was going to have to get back to work. While she made faces at Marvin and Marvin laughed, he made his way to them. He hadn't taken more than three steps when she saw him, turned away sharply and urged the l

Oh! Her voice from the kitchen. It made all those tempting moment of calling her worth resisting. She was okay. Happy even. And now he was going to ruin it. Too late to leave. He should have listened to his father and his friend. He saw her. Next thing she was rushing out of the kitchen. Someone would think Quincy knew what his daughter was about to do. But all that happened was, the sun light bounced off the side of the knife and hit his eyes. Instantly, he saw the knife and moved to her side. Grabbing hold of her a few steps away from her intended victim. "What the hell are you doing here?!" She was so full of rage, she fought back her father's hold. "What are you doing here?!" Nick stepped back, hands up in surrender. He wasn't leaving. "Let go of me! Get out!" "Lucille you'll wake the baby." Madison stated. "I don't care. I'll rock him back to sleep." Her hair was everywhere as she pushed herself away from her father, he wasn't letting go. Nancy didn't quite

It was strange to see her house looking the way it did. She'd never admired it from afar before. The bouncer with the guest list stood by the door. She always talked to him before heading inside never to be seen again till morning. A string of colourful lights were hung out. Kids from different sc

How dare he? How dare he look at her after what he did? The sight of Dennis made her angry. Not to mention the fact that he was looking at her from where he sat, three tables away. Even if he looked remorseful. Remembering him groaning in pain when she pressed his ribs was enough to make her

"So." Marvin broke the silence that had taken over since Lacey called Darin. He looked at Darin who's eyes were closed. "Are you upset you weren't there to help her?" "No. It's about time she started handling things herself. Even if she only handled part of it." He unlocked his p
