Anita sat forward, impatiently waiting for Lacey to talk. Lacey took in the eager look on their faces with a sly smile. Time passed and their patience began to thin out. "Damn it speak or I swear!" Anita barked hitting the desk. Bethany's attempt at disinterest did not work as planned as she tried to hide her gaze in her phone.

"Lacey speak would you." Fay added.

"Fine." She sat up, smirking. "I was watching from behind her locker, you know beside that Home Economics store room. And he walked up." She stopped to watch Jody take her seat in silence.

"Yeah and?" Anita shot, ignoring Jody's arrival.

"And he just kept walking." Fay scoffed. "Like we were invisible. It was just us. But he just kept walking." Seeing the grumpy look on her face while the other three looked at her in shock felt good.

"You know what? Whatever okay, it's probably because you were there

Tom closed the door once they were inside. He watched her look around the front hallway. The loud thumping of her boots on the wooden floor getting his attention. Smirking, he reached for her, snaked his hands round her waist and pulled her into his body. "I didn't even notice those crazy boots. Are they meant for crushing skulls? The thumping is so loud anyone around would know you're walking." He said nuzzling the left side of her neck. She tilted her head to the side chuckling. "The heels are just heavy you idiot." "I know that." He stepped to her right. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go put my room in order." "Uhh uhh." She shook her head and wagged her finger. "No way. So that you can take down your posters and all the things I mentioned that you might have?" He watched her in amusement. "No way." "Unlike your room which is always clean,

"I'm so tired." Tom groaned, resting his head on her lap. She laughed at his move and proceeded to Stoke his hair. "Mmmmm" He moaned. "Now I know why cats love this." "Just don't purr like one.""Are you kidding? I'm too tired to try it." "You're not the one who had to stay back for extra classes.""Maybe not. But the guys and I were practically up all night. And then classes didn't help." He turned his head. "Sorry I couldn't see you yesterday." "No problem. We can't be together all the time. I need you to miss me sometimes." She kept on stroking his hair. "Can you read minds? Cause I was thinking the same thing.""No you weren't." She tugged his hair. He hissed. "Okay fine. But I was going to agree.""Uhh huh." He

Once Lacey opened the front door, the first thing she saw when she looked up was a shirtless Darin. Without giving it a thought, a squeal escaped her mouth as she ran to him and jumped into his arms. Laughing, he made sure her feet had touched the floor before he stepped back. "You are my hero!" "A little lower Lacey. Sadey's asleep." "I don't care. That was awesome. Did you really plan all of that?" "No." "Really? I don't even know what to say to that." He nodded. She wrapped her hands round him again. "Thank yo

With each picture shown and a little story behind what happened before and after it was taken, Lacey laughed. "You really should have been there." Fay said for the sixth time that day. Which was less then how many times Bethany said it. "Maybe next time. I had classes all day and I was so tired afterwards. But it looked like you had so much fun." "Assuming we get invited again next time. And if we can find a way to all go." Anita said as she plucked a leaf from the tree they stood under. "Oh look who it is." Anita brushed her hair back. Her statement making the other three to look in the direction she was looking. "Jody." Bethany spoke first. "If I talk to her today it would be too soon." "You know, Anita annoyed me but here she is with us." Fay felt the need to remind

"Really?" Lacey asked twirling her fork in Darin's bowl of pasta. "You think that's a good idea? Taking Shawna to prom?" She stood beside him. "Why the hell wouldn't it be?""Well for starters, I didn't think you were going." "No one thinks I'm going.""What about Diana?" She brought another fork full to her mouth. "Bradley and Christopher both want to take her. I was never going to. Besides, I think I should go with Shawna. She's been fun to play with so I'm giving her something she sort of wants." "What if Diana wants you to take her?""Who cares what she wants? And go get your own food and stop eating mine. There's plenty more in the kitchen." "Fine." She licked her lips and left with a sigh. He scoffed. "I'

The very next day, Lacey stood beside her mother while she hurriedly gathered her things from her reading table and dumped them in her black hand bag that matched her black pencil gown. "Mother, I want to ask you something." "What is it sweetness? I'm in a hurry, I'm almost late." She grabbed the bag and walked out of the room. Her shoes thumping as she moved, with Lacey trying to keep up beside her. "Ok. Umm..." She search for the right words. "Umm... Ok...""Spit it out Lacey I'm late." They started down the stairs. "Ok... Ok... Umm... London.""London? Toni?" "Toni.""Parents?" "She's asking.""If they agree then we can dicuss it further." "Thank you." Lola took the bag from her and went out the door. Lucille chuckled. "What?" Lacey asked. "Funny conver

As the summer holiday was about to come to an end, Tom dailed Lacey's number and wedged the phone between his ear and his shoulder while he took the basket of clothes handed to him by the maid. He winked at her and closed his room door. The phone had barely rung when he heard her voice. "Please tell me you're ready to leave tomorrow? Cause I can't wait to see you." "Hi. Sadey is that you?" He chuckled."Very hilarious. Are you ready though?" "In the middle of packing actually. Why are you so excited about me leaving? You wouldn't even be back till next week." "I just want to know that you're there when I get there. You didn't get to say goodbye and I miss you." He chuckled again. "I miss you too. It's too bad Toni still has you all to herself. "Oh my goodness, Lacey!" Fay called out as she approached her.Lacey raised her head with her best fake smile. "Hi Fay. Guys." She noticed the others coming up behind Fay. "Your hair." Fay said after hugging her. "It's so pretty. All curled up.""And in a ponytail again." Anita pointed out as she hugged her and and made way for Lacey to walk up to Bethany. "Hi Bethany.""Hey honey." She tugged lightly on a strand. "Its a new school year. Keep the curls and please stop with the ponytail." Lacey chuckled and looked at her buzzing phone. "No."They all grumbled. Each person giving her reasons to keep her hair the way it was. She smiled to make them think sheWas listening while she read the message she just received. -Tom "My dad has me running around with him. But he'll be leaving tomor

Bryan gave attention to the papers on his desk. Knowing the Human Resources manager had just walked into his office, and yet not looking at her. "You shouldn't keep me waiting Miss." "I'm sorry sir. I just..." her voice squeaked. Like every other time she came before the big boss man. "Now I'm doing work I planned to do at home here." "I apologise. It's just. I noticed that your new assistant doesn't have a last name in her file and-" "I know what her last name is." "But sir-" "I know who I hired. I have my reasons for keeping her last name out of her file. Unless she decides to tell you her last name... which I doubt she will. Considering." He smiled. Remembering Nick's lack of expression when neither of them said her last name. "Understand? This is my decision. Good night." "Yes Mister Atkins. I apologise for wasting your time." He knew his reason wasn't good enough. But there was nothing she could do about that. Lucill

Dim lights flooded the entire room. Music playing ever so loudly, he could barely hear himself think. The VIP room in the club was a little less crowded than the other side of the velvet rope. Leaning back against his chair, leg crossed; ankle on his left knee, one hand on his right thigh and the left holding on to the glass of scotch on the table, he stared into the somewhat golden liquid. Wearing a white shirt with no tie, two top buttons undone and a dark blue suit. His heart pounding from the effects of the drug. Lost in nothing and thinking of nothing, he didn't look up when the velvet rope was lifted and his friend walked in with a girl in a tight short dress calling his name excitedly. "Nicky! Nicky!!" His friend called out over the music. He didn't look up. His friend was now standing beside him. "This is Sandy." His friend gestured to the girl giggling beside him. He still didn't look up. Tracing his fingers round the rim of his glass. "This is Nicky, beautiful."

TWENTY FOUR YEARS AGO..."What do you mean you're not coming?! "I don't want this. I don't want any part of this, i never did" "Oh and apparently she did?!" Crap. She wasn't wearing her other clothes. But so what? Tate already knows too much. "Hi." Lacey kept a straight face. Tate stepped aside, giving her space to enter the house. Without a word from him, she went towards the living room. Only to stop when she saw David and George on their feet. Hearing Tate call her name got them to get up. So it wasn't just Tate who had now seen her out of her other clothes. Oh who cares? "Where's Tom?" She asked. They looked at her like she was a completely different person down to the way she dressed. Which in a way is true. It took a few seconds before George spoke for all of them. "Uhh... upstairs." "Thanks." She veered towards the stairs. Tate cleared his throat. "We'll just go then." She looked back at him and nodded. "Lock the door behind us please?" She did as she was asked. The first thing she noticed when she pushed his room door open was the mess. The room wasn't as bright as it usually was, things had been t

Tom shrugged off his jacket when he got home. He let it fall to the ground as he headed towards the kitchen, ignoring Tate and George who got in after him. He grabbed a glass from the kitchen island and poured himself a glass of water. He could barely bring himself to drink it. How did this happen? They were happy and then Abby showed up. How blind had he been in that moment that he didn't see right through it all? He let her take him upstairs and he thought she was apologising. How stupid can he be? With new rage building up, he threw the glass at the fridge with force. He watched it shatter once it hit and water ran down the fridge door. Groaning, he dug his hands into his hair. It had all been a plan to break them up. And he fell for it. How did he not know any better? He looked at the dishes by the sink and swept them off the counter. All of them breaking. The sound only muffling his ragged breathing for a moment. He hated the memory. Only wishing he could go back and stop hi

It was strange to see her house looking the way it did. She'd never admired it from afar before. The bouncer with the guest list stood by the door. She always talked to him before heading inside never to be seen again till morning. A string of colourful lights were hung out. Kids from different schools walking up to the trusty bouncer to see who was who and decide which of the kids before him would be his unlucky victim. Tom held her hand and stuffed their hands in his pocket. She was sure he could feel how cold her hands were, and the knots were still there. Music was playing inside. From where they stood they could hear it. They could also hear people talking excitedly around them. Tate and the others in front of them were no different. Those without invites wondering out loud if they'd be let in. There were a lot of people waiting to get in in front of them. And from what she could see, a guy and a girl had already been told to get lost since they got out of the car. The bouncer i

How dare he? How dare he look at her after what he did? The sight of Dennis made her angry. Not to mention the fact that he was looking at her from where he sat, three tables away. Even if he looked remorseful. Remembering him groaning in pain when she pressed his ribs was enough to make her smile a little and keep the anger away. Tom slipped his arm round her waist, snapping her out of her thoughts. She looked at him and smiled, remembering that she was with him and his friends. The bell for the next classes to begin was rung and the boys stood up. Tom winked at her before he left with them. They had classes but she didn't, yet. Watching them leave, she was nearly startled when Dennis took a seat across from her. Her hands gripped the side of her chair. "I'm sorry. Lacey I'm so sorry." He rushed his words. Thinking she would leave before he got a chance to talk. "I snapped. I shouldn't have, but I did. I saw you with him the day before and I couldn't take it." Lacey's

"So." Marvin broke the silence that had taken over since Lacey called Darin. He looked at Darin who's eyes were closed. "Are you upset you weren't there to help her?" "No. It's about time she started handling things herself. Even if she only handled part of it." He unlocked his phone and sent a text. "Who is this guy anyway?" It was taking a lot to keep his anger in check. Unlike Darin who was exceptionally calm, though his forehead was creased. "Her ex boyfriend. The one who cheated." "That piece of shit kid?!" There was no hiding it there. Darin nodded, his phone buzzing. He got a reply. When his phone rang, he picked up instantly. Not knowing who was calling. "Count yourself lucky that I wasn't there to rip you apart." The raspy rage full voice made him shiver, eyes widening in terror. Dennis looked around the room like the person on the phone was with him. "Who is this?" "You should have left her a

Hands on her hips, a stern look on her face and her friends beside her, she watched Jody walking down the hall among other students. "Jody right?" She got the girl's attention. A smirk taking over the stern look. "Yeah?" Jody walked up to them."You're the witch's friend aren't you?" "I don't know any witch.""Ugh! Lacey." She rolled her eyes. "Oh! I said friend. But that's not remotely true." "What do you mean by that?" Jody folded her arms. "I am Lacey's friend." "You don't have to play that game with me.""I'm not playing." She scoffed. "Yeah. Sure. But, you did see me and my friends by her locker. I know that for a fact." "What are you talking about?""I'm not buying the fake innocence. She saw you" She pointed at one of the girls beside her. "Look at us getting into Lacey's locker, she saw you walk away." Jody wanted to speak, she cut her off. "The day the witch had that locker room incident." J
