Chapter 7: Revenge of The CanFe

A DAY that's gray and cloudy is overcast, and a dull sunless sky. Hana is sitting on the grass at the edge of the cliff. She is enjoying the clouds forming different shapes that she imagines. Enjoying the peaceful of harmony where everything is fine at that moment.

"Hey, what are you doing here all by yourself?"

Hana turned her head to look who's behind her, she feels relieved when she saw who it was, Chen.

"Nothing. Why are you here?”

"Looking for a good spot . . . Nice view.”

Chen sat down next to Hana. She happily looks at the clouds, at this moment, she forgot her problems and mission in life.

"Yeah,” Hana could not help herself but to smile at the presence of Chen is carrying. “The clouds are talking to me. Can you hear them?" She chuckled.

"Yeah, you’re right . . . and they are also talking to me now. Actually, they told me something.”

"Really? And what did they tell you?"

Chen looked at Hana straight into her eyes. "They told me that you are so beautiful."

Hana softly punched Chen on his right shoulder while laughing. They had enjoyed the time of peacefulness, talking, and throwing corny lines.

"Do you know what your future look like?” Chen asked.

"Nope, do you?”

Chen could not stop himself but to release a smirk. "You are just looking at him right now."

Hana stops laughing and her smile slowly fading like it is not a funny thing she'd heard from Chen's corny mouth. She feels like, Chen is really serious the time he throwed that line. Hana thought that maybe Chen was just joking and it just a funny thing or an irony thought that can be a good line to throw for Hana. So, Hana bluffly laughs like it was very awkward for the both of them and Chen also laugh but Chen cut the fun.

"I'm serious!"

Hana thought deeply, she didn't think Chen was serious about it. She didn't know how she should answer Chen. They have good times together but, she didn’t think that they can be together. They have different lives, and she didn’t know if they can successfully do her mission or what will happen after everything is done.

“What are you saying?” Hannah said incredulously.

“What do you mean about what I am saying? I want to spend my lifetime with you.” Chen grabs Hana's hands and locked them in his arms. “I love you.”

Annoyed, Hana looks into Chen's eyes and she immediately removes her hands from him. “You don’t know about me, Chen. You don’t know such thing about me, about my family, and even I, I don’t know about myself.”

“That's why I'm here, to get to know you. We can figure these out together. Just let me . . . and trust me. Okay?” Chen took Hana's hands again.

“I, uhm . . .” But a sudden, Hana didn't take her respond because there is someone who’s calling them from the village. Hana and Chen quickly stand up and approached the soldier asking what happened.

"Is everything all right?" Chen asked worriedly.

It looks like something bad happened in the village because of the outward appearance of the soldier. Panting as if in a hurry, sweat was forming on his arms, and black dirt on his face.

"The village is under attacked by almost of the CanFe’s hoard. They were violently ruthless attacking and killing the entire village, and people they saw. The king commands me to find Hana and call you to inform about what is happening in the village. He wanted me to guide you to escape you out from the chaos, no matter what happened."

But Hana refused to follow the king’s order. “I don’t want to run. Not again. No one has the right to dictate what I want, and I don't need your protection either. Now that I have the power to save innocent people from demons, I will not run and think that I will save myself, I will not repeat what I did before.”

She runs fast as she can towards the village, and the soldier chased her, trying to stop her. But eventually, the soldier successfully captures her hands from the back, but she struggled to get free. She kicks the soldiers' balls and run. She could have killed the soldier for what she did, but she could do nothing but to do that. She has to help to save those people in the village.

Chen follows Hana. When they had arrived on the village, the whole place is on fire and lots of body lifelessly lying on the ground, blood tirelessly flows like a river everywhere. Merciful shouts and crying voice all over the village’s atmosphere that serves as music on the moment of chaos.

“Help! Anyone, please save my daughter!” a mother shouts as soldiers restrain her to rescue her, as CanFes approaching her daughter from a corner of a tree root.

The soldiers and the other people could do nothing because they had to escape before they could be all killed.

“Mama!” said the child while crying out loud.

They just look at the child as the CanFes work together to eat the child, moving away from the indescribable image of the village.

CanFes are in deep blood thirst. They are so obsessed with the blood and power they can get from the blood of their former descendants that it will give them the strength to fight against their own origin.

Hana cries looking into the situation that the village has experiencing, sympathizing the pain and anger that the villager is carrying on their hearts. While Hana stock on that moment, Chen is trying to haul Hana's arm to wake her up but Chen notice something on Hana's hands. There's a water substance from the ground that is quickly forming that looks like a weapon or something to him. So, he stops from interrupting Hana and when it forms a melee weapon–a knife. Hana stab the CanFe from behind that is just in front of her, followed by the other CanFe who is busy eating the villager’s flesh.

Hannah stands up straight and place her right foot on her back and gently kneel in the air, without hesitation, Hana runs fast. Chen is in shocked the time he saw Hana, killing all the CanFe she encountered. Chen quickly finds a place to hide, while on his way, a CanFe attacked him that leave a three deep scratch wound on his right arm. The CanFe plan to attack Chen again using its power while Chen is on the ground lying holding his arm, a water sharp sword sticking exited from behind the CanFe to its front. It was Hana who killed the CanFe and it is Chen's privilege that his life was saved.

The CanFe members notice that there is a girl who killed most number. So, they plan to rally and kill Hana all together. The CanFe fired out altogether targeting Hana in circle but these CanFe failed to burn her. A large cloud of smoke surrounded the source where Hannah was standing, and when the smoke disappeared, they saw a blue water surrounding the place where she was standing.

The CanFes’ were amazed at what they saw, she able to defend herself from the fire, she created an ice shield. Then it suddenly rains hard. The earth is now fully flooded because of the rain that wetted them all. Hana is still thinking and hearing in her head all those crying voice, and makes her emotion drove her. Her eyes turn into all black and her appearance looks full of anger.

The CanFe didn't wait Hana to fight back and fire her out but they won’t be able to produce a single fire because of the rain. They were frightened and one of the CanFe shouts for request to retreat. Then, the CanFe quickly run into the woods but before they can reach in the woods, sharp thin water stitch all of them from the watery ground that made them unable to move and makes them slowly dying because of the blood they lost.

“Do you all think that you can escape from me?” Hana’s deep voice makes them afraid as she is slowly walking towards them.

CanFes try to move and some of them died immediately and when others realize, they no longer move because their death will be easier if they move. No one had escaped from Hana's hand but sad to know that lot of the villager died and lots of soldiers have been slayed.

Chen slowly walks towards Hana. No one knows except him, that Hana is different. She’s not herself. He did not think of what might happen to him when he approached and touched her. All he had on his mind is to save the woman he loves.

Hana is no longer cares who or what is happening to her. All she wants is to kill all those CanFes and take revenge to everyone who hurt and killed those helpless people. It is her emotion who drove her out to become something they could never imagine, a monster. She then notices Chen's presence towards her, so she aggressively grabs Chen's shirt and act to stab him using a sword made out of water element, but before she could stab Chen, Prince Keiynan hit Hana’s neck using his sword that made her fainted.

“YOU know it’s dangerous and also, you know that she was no longer the girl you knew. It was her monster inside her that overtook her own body and mind.” The king said.

            “I know, your highness, but I know her soul is still there. I know she can hear my voice.” Chen answered while sitting on a well-fine curved wooden chair with the royal members of the water bender nation, inside the palace.

            “What gives you the courage and strength to do it?” The other member sitting from across the table.

            “I love her . . .”

They carried Hana to the healing fountain where she can heal fast while she is surrounded by all the Shaman from the village that survived from the bloody attacked. The people hopes that she would heal fast and back to normal again to thank her for saving their lives.

“If she did stab me, I know it's going to be hurt but . . . I can take the pain just for the girl I love. Even she didn't know, it doesn't matter anymore as long as she is safe now.”

Chen bravely answered all the questions from the royal bloods. He could not get Hana’s situation out of his mind. He wanted to see her but he’s thinking of how he could make his exit. He wants himself to be there next to the person he loves and watch over her until she wakes up.

“Please excuse me, your highness, I have to go now. I need to be there by her side. She needs me more than anyone in here.”

Some members of the palace show their smiles softly that gives Chen the feeling of not to trust them and starting to build the feeling of doubt for the king. What are they planning to do to her? Inside Chen’s mind.

“You know she should be treated right away, don’t you?” King Aqua said.

“But I need to be there.”

The patient that Chen has, it's just too small that left and anytime he will explode in anger. But he’s trying to calm himself. He didn't want to make a mess from the recent commotion earlier. Hana’s health is the top priority to be watch over right now.

“You’re love for her is so much powerful than she has inside her.”

“I know . . .” He stands up and lost his respect for everyone who’s inside the room. “That is why I am leaving now.” He turned and walked away from the table where the other members of the palace were sitting.

The guards tried to stop him from coming out.

“Let him out.” King Aqua gave the guards permission to let him out.
