Lovette POV
The day was finally here. I was about to see Connor, my buddy for life. I had on a pink crop top and black high-waist trousers. I styled my hair into a messy ponytail using a polka dot ribbon. My luggage was packed and all set. I bid goodbye to my mum and left for the park. It was a 3-hour trip involving the vehicle stopping at every checkpoint.Exhausting. Thank goodness I had my phone to keep me company. I was watching TikTok videos back to back.Alas! I got to the town where the Harper’s lived. I ordered a cab to my main destination. I was feeling all sought of emotions, from excitement to nervousness. I know I shouldn’t be nervous since they are more or less my family, but it’s been 3 good years since I last saw them. I wonder if Ralph and Lowell have changed a lot since the last time. They must have outgrown some of their habits. Connor and Lowell will have been able to shift into their wolves. I was told Werewolves start shifting on their 16th birthday, and they have crossed that age since. I wonder how big their wolves will be. It’s not like I’ve seen Ralph shift before. He hardly ever does that. Who am I kidding? He hates being a werewolf.I stood in front of the building and admired the house. From the outside, the house looks posh and extravagant. It has been built with bricks covered in render and has granite decorations. Tall, rounded windows brighten the house and have been added to the house in a fairly symmetrical pattern. The house is surrounded by grass, a huge tree in the centre, and bushes on the plot’s borders. I pressed the doorbell, and the door opened to two faces grinning at me. It was Connor and Susan. I squealed, and before I knew I was up in the air, Connor tried to lift me up.“Look who has gotten bigger, I can’t even carry you like I used to”, Connor laughed.I rolled my eyes at him. He is now taller and has broader shoulders.“Hello Susan, it’s been a while” I acknowledged Susan’s presence, giving her a kiss on the cheek.“Yes darling, you look beautiful as always”, she offered to carry my luggage.I heard footsteps approach us. Looking up to see who it was, I saw it was Ralph. 3 years must have been more than enough time to become sexier. I remember him making fun of my teeth every chance he got. But I got braces later, and fast forward to now, and I have the perfect set of teeth. He looks to be 6” 2 tall now.I admired him for a second, not caring if he saw me do it. His light green eyes look like they’re piercing into your soul, and he has broad shoulders that look like he has been working out, thick eyebrows and a perfectly trimmed moustache. He was definitely the ladies’ man.He looked at me and smirked. Yep, he totally saw me checking him out. Wrong I admit. He is like a brother to me. But who was I to pass on the chance to appreciate beauty when I see one. I was shy at the gesture. I tucked a piece of fallen hair behind my ear and gave him a handshake. He rolled his eyes and pulled me into a hug.“Is Lowell not home?” I glanced around the room, noticing his absence.“Yeah, he isn’t. He went into town with my dad to get the groceries”, Connor replied. “Against his will, of course, my dad forced him”. He added.I nodded slowly, taking in all that Connor said and watching Ralph bite off his nails from where he was seated. Gross, I must say.“You have to tell me all that has happened” Connor grabbed my hands, trying to hurry past his mother up the stairs.“Not so fast, will you? She must be starved from the trip. Let’s find her something to eat first, you both have weeks to spend together. That is more than enough time”, Susan suggested.“What would you love to eat, there is this new restaurant in town, do you want to go there and check it out, or we should just order pizza and sit our butt at home” Connor questioned.“I don’t mind eating pizza”, I replied. I was too exhausted, anyway, to explore the town. I wanted nothing more than to take a short nap. I was led to the room I would be staying in. It was Connor’s room. The room was opposite Ralph’s, while Lowell’s was beside it. I quickly scanned through the room, and Connor sure didn’t disappoint as a boy, I thought sarcastically. Inside the room were posters of girls and babes on the beach. Some consisted of movie stars. There were clothes on the floor and rumpled bed sheets. Boys would always be boys.Susan entered the room, and the look on her face was priceless. Oh well, this isn’t going to go well for dear Connor.“Look how messy your room is, didn’t I tell you to arrange it beforehand” She yelled at Connor. He lifted his hands up in surrender, stepping backwards. Not like his mother would actually hit him.“Sorry, Love,” He said with a goofy smile.“I didn’t fall down, sugar. Just get your ass in here and tidy up your mess”, I replied with a smirk.Susan glanced at the room once more whilst shaking her head, then slammed the door and left the room.“Your royal highness, I didn’t think you would mind how the room looked. We used to be buddies remember? We would even eat on rumpled sheets while watching movies on my laptop.”“What changed? A lot must have changed with you,” he said playfully with the puppy dog eye.“What did you expect? I am a grown lady. I can’t go around with my room looking messy and untidy.”“Grow up, Connor, grow up,” I said in a sing-song voice.Lovette’s POVI had noticed that Gabriel was always around Celeste. At first, I brushed it off, thinking that he was just being friendly. But as the days went by, I couldn't shake off the feeling that there was something more to it.So, I decided to ask him about it."Hey, Gabriel," I said, leaning over to him. "I've noticed that you're always around Celeste. Is there something going on between you two?"Gabriel didn't give me a direct answer. He just smiled and said, "Why do you ask?"I felt a pang of frustration. I had hoped for a straight answer. But before I could say anything, Ralph came up to me and took me away."Lovette, my love," he said, hugging me. "I've missed you. What were you and Gabriel talking about?"I hesitated for a moment but then decided to tell Ralph what was on my mind. "I was just asking Gabriel about Celeste. He's always around her, and I can't help but wonder if there's something going on between them."“I see. But don't worry about it, babe. I'm sure there'
Gabriel’s POVI was a mess. I couldn't bear to see Celeste like this. I paced back and forth in front of her room, my heart beating frantically in my chest. I couldn't focus on anything else, couldn't think of anything else. Every minute that passed felt like an eternity.Nyx had taken her inside the room to perform some healing on her. And I was waiting patiently for the outcome.Every time I passed by the door, I peeked inside, hoping to see some sign of improvement. But each time, it was the same. Celeste lying there, unmoving, while Nyx attended to her.All I could do was wait and pray. Finally, after what felt like hours, the door opened and Nyx emerged from the room, I practically ran towards her. "How is she? Is she going to be okay?" I asked, my voice shaking with fear and desperation.Nyx looked up at me, and her expression was blank. For a moment, I couldn't read her face, and then she spoke, her voice devoid of emotion. "I'm sorry, Gabriel. Celeste didn't make it. She's gon
Lovette’s POVI stumbled backward as Vera lunged at me, her eyes filled with a terrifying hunger. I knew I was no match for her, but I couldn't give up without a fight.I tried to dodge her attacks, but she was too fast, too strong. She grabbed hold of my shirt, and I felt her claws digging into my skin.Where the hell was Gabriel when I needed him?Just when I thought that all hope was lost and I was about to face certain doom, Nyx appeared out of nowhere, her body beginning to contort and shift into a wolf.Vera growled out loud, recognizing Nyx to be her sister. For a moment, I thought Vera was going to back down and give up fighting. But I thought wrongVera was also transforming, her body twisting and convulsing until she too had taken on the shape of a massive wolf. The two of them began to circle each other, growling and snarling in a display of primal aggression. Even though I knew they were once sisters, it was clear that they were now enemies, locked in a deadly struggle th
Gabriel’s POVI stood at the edge of the clearing, watching my pack as they played and hunted. They moved with grace and precision that spoke to their strength and skill. I could feel the pride swell within me, and I knew that it was a feeling that was shared by the rest of the pack. We were a family, and we were growing stronger and healthier every day.Being an alpha wasn't easy, but it was a responsibility that I took seriously. As I turned to leave, I saw Neo approaching me with a frown on his face. As he walked closer, his frown deepened, and I knew something was bothering him. Neo was always talking about his girlfriend, Nyx. He would tell anyone who would listen about how amazing she was and how lucky he felt to have her in his life. But as time went on, it became clear that Neo wasn't just in love with Nyx – he was lovesick for her.Every time Nyx wasn't around, Neo's mood would darken. He would become quiet and withdrawn, lost in his thoughts. He would spend hours staring of
Lovette’s POVI couldn't believe how quickly the school year had gone by. I had been leading the class, acing every test, and putting in countless hours of studying. But all of that hard work was overshadowed by the fear that had gripped our school. It had started innocently enough. A few students were absent on the first day of school, but we all assumed they were just late enrollees. But as the weeks went on, more and more students went missing. It was as if they had vanished into thin air.At first, I tried not to think too much about it. I had my studies to focus on, after all. But the fear and paranoia that was spreading throughout the school were palpable. I could see it in the eyes of my classmates, in the way they moved through the halls, constantly looking over their shoulders.I tried to rationalize it, to come up with some sort of explanation. Maybe they had all transferred to another school, or maybe they had run away from home. But deep down, I knew something was seriousl
Lovette’s POVThat evening, I spent some time with Connor and Tasha. We all sat in the backyard, under the stars, with music playing softly in the background. It was bittersweet, knowing that I was leaving the next day, but also grateful for the time we had together.Connor had prepared my favorite meal, and we all shared stories and laughed together. I knew that I would miss them dearly. As we settled into the comfortable chairs in the backyard, the warm breeze and soft music creating a peaceful atmosphere, Connor asked me how I felt about resuming senior year in high school.I took a deep breath and hesitated for a moment, not entirely sure how to express the mix of emotions I felt about returning to school. "Honestly, it's a bit overwhelming to think about. I mean, I'm excited to see my friends again and finish what I started, but at the same time, I'm nervous about the workload and the pressure of college applications."Connor nodded thoughtfully, his eyes showing understanding.
