Facing Julian

Ava's pov

"Tell Max to go with you to his house. I will join you there," Alex said and I raised a curious brow. "Do you know where he lives?" I asked him and he chuckled.

"I have my ways, baby. Go and keep him busy, I will show when you need help just like I did now," he replied.

I kept the gun at the edge of my sweatpants, the familiar weight brought me comfort. I covered my hair with my hoodie cap. Upon opening the door, I met with Max.

"The gold is fake," I informed him and his eyes widened with shock. "What do we do? Do you know where he lives, ma'am?" He asked and i nodded.

"Are you fully armed? Things could get messy," I questioned, my eyes scanning his attire. "Give me five minutes, and i will meet you in the car," he said, rushing into his room.

I sighed, my stomach twisting in knots. The silence was oppressive, and I couldn't shake off the feeling of unease. I didn't know what to expect at Julian's house. Was he married to the woman I caught him with?
