Chapter 37

Gwen's POV

I awoke to the beep of the electrocardiogram monitor in the room. My nose was covered with a respirator, which assisted me in breathing.

I experienced severe pains in my lower abdomen and weakness throughout my body. I was drowsy and struggling to keep my eyes open.

“My babies” I gasped.

I noticed someone resting her head on my bed and holding my hand.

“Jane?” I called out.

“Gwen, you are awake” she jolted in joy.

“My babies?” My eyes welled up with tears as I asked. I remember passing out while pushing but did not remember bringing them out of me.

“Did they make it?” Struggling to control my tears. If something were to happen to them, I am not sure if I would be able to forgive myself.

I could feel my body vibrating on the bed as the Electrocardiogram monitor beeped louder. My breathing became labored again, and the room was growing darker by the moment.

“Doctor!, Nurse!, Anyone!” I heard Jane screaming.
