Sorry guys, I try to keep on writing but my mental health keeps failing me. I was fine one till yesterday but waking up this morning suddenly felt incredibly difficult. I know that if I keep writing at this moment, my writing will only get worse and I won't be able to deliver what I want to. I don't know what's wrong with me to be honest. For the last few months I've been getting worse, especially after I got covid and I know that mental health issues have been a side effect of omicron but I didn't understand how bad the situation has gotten till now. From now on, I'm going on a haitus for about two months and when I return, hopefully it'll be with the whole story for you guys to read.
I really, truly do apologize for the inconvinience and especially for those of you who were following this story. I want to give you guys better results and I hope that when I come back, it'll be for the best.
Inviting your understanding.
Sincerely,
Anna.
Chapter 24: Un-Friendly BanterRegina’s P.O.V“You.” I narrowed my eyes at the red haired man named Joel, who stood in front of me like a statue, without saying a single word. “Take me to the kitchen. I’m famished!”Joel simply turned and started walking.I blinked several times, trying to process the situation. “Well…that was easier than I thought.”I ran behind the tall man, taking longer strides to keep up with him as he led me down the spiral staircase once again before taking a right turn to a different hallway and before I knew it, I was standing in the middle of a huge modern kitchen with all the latest gadgets that I could possibly imagine, laid out in front of me.Joel went to the side counter that was made of polished black marble and took a seat at one of the high chairs, making me frown once again.“Why are you sitting there? Whe
Chapter 25: Trust and LoyaltyDraco’s P.O.V‘I’ve sent her back to your room, Capo. Keeping watch outside the door. There are guards stationed under the balcony as well.’I shut my cell phone after reading through the message that Joel had sent me before turning to the consignment that had arrived this evening at the warehouse. Aside from the new mix of drugs, there had been a few firearms that my men had been able to get a hold of, some of which were initially supposed to go to Cheng and the Triad, but with him no longer in the picture, the seller had instead chosen to offer the deal to the one who had made shot the final bullet at Cheng Li.Rico walked in at that moment, looking more like a train wreck than he did when I saw him this afternoon.“Did you drop off the kid?” I asked him, telling my men to take the packages over to the side so they could count the numbers
Chapter 26: Getting Closer Regina’s P.O.V“You must be bored of listening to literally nothing for the past few days, right?” I spoke next to the tracker, knowing that it could record sounds to some extent for being such a tiny device.Well, at least the person on the other side will be able to hear my voice…know that I was doing ok.“Truth is, I’m trying to get close to him, to get him to open up and show me around the mansion,” I sighed heavily, leaning my head against the drawers. “But it’s not an easy job. I have to be more than just a mistress, more than a person he sleeps with for him to actually lead me to anything useful.”Truth was, after Draco’s bodyguard, Joel, had left me in the room today after lunch, I had to tiptoe around the room and look through all the drawers I could open without a lock to try and find something that I migh
Chapter 27: Right or Wrong?Regina’s P.O.V“You looked like you were about to cry.”That snapped me out of my trance faster than any bullet could.“Why would I want to cry?” I shot back, narrowing my eyes at his handsome face. “Especially for someone who nearly starved me to death and left me locked up in a room, literally tied to the bed?”“As you can see, I was shot.” He motioned at himself with his eyes before looking back at me, fixing me with that penetrating gaze. “I hadn't expected the problem to persist this long. I had expected to be back here the very next day, in the afternoon at the latest.”“That still doesn’t excuse what you did to me.” I told him outright. “It was still wrong.”“And what about you?” Draco tilted up my face with his fingers under my chin. “Do you think what y
Chapter 28: ConditionsDraco’s P.O.V“Joel, take care of the art room supplies and tell me about its progress when it’s over.” I told Regina’s bodyguard. “Make sure it’s ready by this afternoon.”When I was hanging up the phone, my eyes met Rico’s in the rear-view mirror for a short instant before he averted his eyes and went back to driving the car in silence.I was heading to the warehouse once again, but this time to check on the consignment that contained all the weapons that were sent in this morning by Donatello from Detroit. The coast was finally clear after Cheng Li’s death as the last of the opposition left Detroit to head back to their own Syndicates all over the US. It wasn’t exactly convenient for them to stay away from their territory any longer because in the criminal underworld, no one knew who was going to backstab you next. No one co
Chapter 29: Don’t Make Me Weak…Regina’s P.O.VIt was some time after lunch hours that I heard a knock at the door to Draco’s room.I frowned as I came inside from the balcony, where I had been looking out at the vast land stretched out for miles in front of me and admiring the view. Honestly, I was bored out of my mind at having nothing to do in this huge ass house. The humongous swimming pool in the front yard was tempting at best but at the same time, I didn’t want to bathe in it because so far, all I had seen were male bodyguards stationed at every nook and cranny around this estate and the last thing I wanted was for them to be ogling me as I went to the pool in a bathing suit. But despite this being a mansion…the only rooms I was allowed to access were the dining room, the living room, the kitchen and Draco’s room. Which wasn’t much considering the huge amount
Chapter 30: Demons from the PastRegina’s P.O.V“I was sixteen when my parents died in a car crash…they were in the front seat and it was raining heavily. They were arguing about something that night…something I don’t even remember, and I asked them if they were getting a divorce.” I lied, because I couldn’t let him know the truth. “They were shocked that I would think that way. Truth was…I had never seen my parents fight like that before. They used to argue at home to, but I guess that’s normal when you work in the same company.”“But that day it was worse. But they reassured me that it was nothing…they were just having a disagreement and it will eventually be sorted out. But while they were explaining the situation to me…they failed to see the incoming truck. It was raining so heavily…the next thing I know, I woke up in the ho
Chapter 31: Aftercare Regina’s P.O.V “Ouch! Be gentle, will you?” I raised my eyebrows at the man who didn’t have any problem having sex on the cold, hardwood floor with two bullet holes on his shoulder; but now wants me to be ‘gentle’ while I scrub his back in the shower? Okay…I admit…there might be more than a few scratches from my nails on his back now, but I had more hickies all over my chest to match those scratches! It serves him just right! But I obeyed his demands nonetheless and wiped his back gently, reminding myself to be careful of the bullet wounds. They were still raw and healing and it was going to take some time before he could remove those patches from his skin that prevented water to enter the wounds and infect them further. “So…how was your day?” I asked nonchalantly. Draco however, stilled in front of me; his body going motionless like a statue. “Why do you ask?” There was something in his voice that I didn’t quite grasp, but I decided to let it go because
