About three hours later, they were sitting on the floor by the chaise lounge. Ella was resting her head on Javier’s chest while her husband had his back and head leaned on the side of the chaise. His eyes were closed as he gathered more oxygen into his lungs. As always, they’d given their all during their lovemaking. It seemed now that they were married, they didn’t feel the need to hold back. Ella wasn’t as shy as she’d been either. In fact, she got a little more inventive and investigative in finding out what she actually liked. And of course, Javier was more than happy to oblige. His wife’s happiness was his happiness too. After spending a day with Jess shopping, they went to a small cafe and got themselves some dose of caffeine. Jess was having a vanilla latte and a slice of New York cheesecake whilst Ella settled with a cup of jasmine tea. “I know what you’re doing, you know,” said Jess after they were done dissing the expensive store they’d just gone to. She grabbed the spoon and sliced the cake with it, her eyes were wholly focused on the white, creamy texture. “Mom talked to you and told you that there’s something weird about me so out of a whim, you texted me asking if I want to shop for some makeup — which you know, I couldn’t resist.” Ella hid her smile by taking a sip of her tea. “Okay then.” She placed the cup back on its saucer. “What’s going on? Do you have any problems? Maybe I could help you.” “It’s not fixable,” commented Jees. “I doubt even you could help me. While Ella was out and spending some quality time with her half-sister, Jessica, Javier was alone in his library which was connected to his office at home. He had promised a lot of people including his bedridden and unwell little sister that he wouldn’t do anything related to work. As appalling as that was, he attempted to honor his promise. Reading wasn’t actually working so that was what he resided to. After all, knowledge could be obtained through reading including knowledge of business and expansion. It was only the morning after that Javier started to receive texts and calls from his brothers. This call in particular was from his younger brother Reed. “I can’t believe you let her sister stay there during your honeymoon, Brother.” Reed let out a small whistling noise. “That must’ve been awkward. Draven scratched the back of his head even though it didn’t itch as he was faced with the current situation. No gentleman should be in his situation right now. Not even when his sister had given him her permission and made a perfect excuse for him. Still, in his effort to respect people’s privacy, he resided in one corner of the spacious room so no one could feel his presence. “He’s not going to come,” said Clarabelle really decidedly upon glancing at the door for the eleventh time since the clock hit two in the afternoon. She let out a small sigh, trying to swallow her disappointment as she rested her back on the pillows. In all honesty, she thought that Dean would at least show up. She’d heard from Draven that Dean had been there in the waiting room with the rest of her family while she’d been in surgery. That had given her a bit of hope. Regardless of their disagreement and how messed up the relationship they had, she thought he would at least hear her out or just come to see how she was doing. “Yes,” answered the man wearing a dark shirt and a dark navy blue blazer. His dark eyes moved from Draven to Clarabelle before he fixed his gaze back on Draven. He leveled his gaze with Draven. Clarabelle opened her mouth and then closed it again because, despite her wish to say something in return, she simply couldn’t find her voice nor the words that could articulate what was in her mind right now. This was Dean freaking Westminster. He was the worst of the worst.
