Javier Summers didn’t like this. Not even one bit. He could even consider this as the worst birthday he had ever had. No, he could not blame it on the food being served. They were splendid, cooked, and prepared by the best chefs in the U.S. And he could not fault the decor either, they were exactly how he wanted it: elegant and high class. The band playing the music right now was also giving their best performance so he could not fault that either.

What irritated him the most was the fact that his little secretary who had always shown propriety suddenly decided to let loose tonight and not only did she do this on her own, she had a gorgeous man at her side, eager to please her and could not wait for the pleasurable night that might follow afterward — preferably in her place or his.

Javier needed some time to cool himself or else he would drag Ella to the nearest available room and shake some sense into her. And then do what? Javier shook the naughty, inappropriate thought off his m

The band started playing again. Only this time, it was a song with a slower tempo, something that would be best suited for a slow dance. Ella had just gotten back to the table when she caught the sight of Javier and London Star. Her only salvation was having Damon by her side. It was always better to have a friend with her than to face something like this on her own. London’s eyes sparkled and she rose to her feet. “Damon, I love this song. Come dance with me,” she linked her arm to Damon, pressing her large breasts on his forearm. “You don’t mind if I borrow him for a dance right, Ella?” “I really don’t want to leave her alone,” answered Damon, freeing his arm from her grasp and failing miserably for she had held him tightly. Before Ella could say anything, a low husky voice had answered on her behalf. “She’s not alone. I will accompany her.” Then Ella could feel his arm linking around her waist and she nearly jumped on the spot. Damon’s eyes were on her, waiting for her decisi

Ella stared at her boss and for a second there, she was going to lose her temper. She’d specifically said that she was trying to find a restroom, then why on Earth had he led her into his bedroom? Her earlier thought about his wish to claim her as one of his conquests reared its ugly head. Her jaw clenched as she tried her best to calm herself by telling herself that if he made any moves, she could always knee him between his thighs, then run like hell. So when she finally opened her mouth, she was quite proud of herself for sounding calm and reasonable. “Why did you bring me here?” Without saying a word, he took her hand and was about to drag her when she planted her feet firmly on the floor and refused to follow him. "What on Earth are you doing, Sir?" She had subtly added ‘Sir’ in her sentence in the hope to remind her that he was her boss and that this was borderline inappropriate. “Didn’t you say you want to go to the restroom?” he asked incredulously as if she’d just asked h

Ella Stanford "He did kiss you, didn't he?" asked Damon once they were out in the parking lot. Ella blinked before her face reddened. "Did you see?" She knew there was a little chance that Damon had seen it since she and Javier had been in his bedroom but still, there was no other reason that she could think of. "Nope, but I wish I did." Damon wiggled his eyebrows, teasing her. "It is all over your face, babe. You look slightly flushed and when you came back from the restroom, you acted all weird." He paused, scrunching his nose then clapped his hands. "Oh, and you can not wait to get home. That is the weirdest one." "I am just tired," said Ella which was not entirely a lie. She was emotionally tired having to remain cool and unaffected by Javier's every move. "Because of the kiss?" teased Damon again, to which Ella replied with a nudge on his waist. "Ow! No need to harass me. But seriously, girl, was he good?" Hearing Ella's contented sigh and watching the look on her face, he

  • Taming The Wild CEO   Chapter 11 - “What is a small kiss after four years?”

A smile hovered on Javier’s lips as he arrived at his office this morning. Over his coffee and the splendid breakfast made by his maid, Leigh, he’d thought of his plan in seducing his little secretary Miss Ella Stanford. A lively sense of anticipation tingled through his body as he swung the door open, fully expecting Ella to be at her table. Yet it quickly died down when he noticed that there was no sign of her arrival. Her usual brown coat wasn’t on the hanger and her desk was still cleared, looking precisely as it had been when he had left his office last Friday. Where the hell was she? Or perhaps excitement had made him arrive earlier than he had thought. He moved his arm and checked his watch. It was fifteen minutes past nine. He hadn’t arrived early, she’d been the one arriving late! He had never known her to be here before him. She’d always been punctual. Her failure to do so today was aggravating, especially since he had sent her a text telling her that he needed to discuss

If he was being honest, Ella's resignation had shocked him. Through and through. He had never thought that she would quit her job. "Damn," he hissed under his breath so that the one person who just had shaken his world on the other side of the room would not hear a thing. He had tried his best to remain cool and calm in conveying his response earlier because the last thing he wanted was for Ella to realize how important her role actually was. If she knew how scared he was to lose her, she would be inclined to overvalue herself. He blinked as a thought came to her. Perhaps she wanted to quit because the money was not enough. Maybe the reason why sh

  • Taming The Wild CEO   Chapter 13 - “I am engaged”

Ella Stanford looked up as Javier left his office, shoving his phone and wallet into his pocket. Without even looking, she knew where he was probably heading. She refrained from sighing. It did not take a genius to know that her boss was on his way to meet his lover, London Star. Every day it was the same. The phone call he had received before lunchtime would determine who he would be spending his lunchtime with. Either his family (either his older brother, Thornton, or his youngest sister, Clara, or on a rather rare occasion, his mother) or his most recent lover. Most of the time, it was the latter.Since evidently, London had called merely fifteen minutes ago, it had been determined that he would be spending his lunchtime with her. And if she was right, they were probably going to go to a restaurant in a five-star hotel around the area and once the lunch was concluded, they would retreat to a suite and ravish each ot

Javier stepped out of his Rolls Royce and into the fresh air and breathed in deeply, appreciating the feel of the sun on his skin. Although he mostly spent his afternoon with either his family or his lover, he couldn’t help but admit that it was quite nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of the office for a little while and simply be in his own company. He walked towards the coffee shop not far from his office building. It was tucked away at the corner of the street. Once upon a time, back when he was fresh from the university and was working a managerial level job, he used to go there often. Nowadays, not so much. “Javier!” Crystal Jones, a stout little woman behind the counter who also happened to be the owner, greeted him. He was surprised that she even recognized him and remembered his name. “Long time no see. How are you?”“I am well, thank you,” he replied to her with a brief smile. “I have been busy. So, what delicious specials do you have today?”“Well, the twins came ba

  • Taming The Wild CEO   Chapter 15 - "If you insist, Boss."

"Damon did offer to come with me," started Ella, a little unsure whether she had to tell him the truth. It would be very embarrassing indeed to acknowledge that she had a friend who pretended to be her boyfriend. She was not sure she could bear him knowing. She would die if she saw him giving her a mocking smile or any snide remark. Although she would soon leave his company, she wanted to leave with her dignity remain intact. "But I do not want to trouble him."Javier frowned. A few lines formed on his forehead as his eyebrows joined in the middle. "Why not? He is your boyfriend. If I were him, I would insist on coming.""He-" Ella swallowed convulsively. "Well, Damon is a dear friend and I am sure he is busy with work. It is Monday after all.""Friend?" Her boss's face looked every bit confused. His brows shot up, and his eyes widened. He almost looked lost. "Did you two break up?"

“Did you perhaps get some pieces of your memory back?” asked Ella, sounding hopeful. She’d once been in Clarabelle’s position and she knew how frustrating it was not knowing the past, to have a few years stolen from her memory. Although in the end, Ella managed to gain her memories back. Clarabelle cleared her throat for no particular reason other than to delay answering her sister in law question for several seconds. She shifted uncomfortably in her seat. There was no easy way to say this and she knew that keeping this act for so long wouldn’t benefit anyone either yet it was really hard to tell the truth. No one would understand. “Look, Clara,” Ella held my hand and gave it a gentle squeeze. Ella’s eyes were understanding and Clarabelle was suddenly filled with immense guilt. “It’s okay. You don’t have to say anything. We’re just so happy you’re alright. Don’t force yourself to remember, it’ll come eventually. I know this from experience.” Ella’s smile was what broke Clarabelle’s

“Oh, don’t be so sure, Brother,” teased Clara with a wink. She turned to Ella and Damon who were on her left. “You know Ella, and you remember Damon, right?” “Yeah, sure.” Maxon nodded at Damon. “Hey, man.” But when his eyes moved to Ella, he gave her an awkward smile. “Ella.” He wasn’t usually this awkward around females especially one married to his brother. Hell, he wasn’t awkward with Ava, Thornton’s wife — maybe only for a few months after his brother told the family about Ava riding their neighbor Josh on the kitchen counter. Truth be told, the fact that he was slightly awkward with Ella was all his sister’s doing. Before Javier realized his feelings for Ella, Clarabelle had tried to set up a blind date between Ella and Maxon. Furthermore, Max had once said that Ella was hot to Clarabelle, and knowing his sister, she had indeed told Ella. Max didn’t have any feelings or crush on Ella, but still, it would take him a little while to not feel awkward. He wasn’t good around people

“And you’re married,” reminded Ella, shaking her head. “True. But I’m not blind.” “How’re you, um,” he scratched the back of his neck uncomfortably, then cleared his throat before adding a soft and barely a whisper, “Princess.” With three sets of eyes watching him in curiosity mixed with surprise, Macon Summers had a faint blush on his high cheekbones. He cleared his throat one more time and focused his eyes on his little sister. “Sister?” Clarabelle let out a small giggle. “Sorry, guys, I made him call me that because he was the only one who only visited me once since I got admitted in this hospital.” There was a glint of mischief in her green eyes. After all, one of the reasons little sisters were born was to annoy their brothers. It was a birthright as much as it was an assignment. Maxon heaved an exasperated sigh. “I’ve apologized a dozen times, Clara.” He made his way to the empty spot on the right side of her bed. “I’m not going to make the same mistake of asking ‘what else

“What about the cake?” Ella eagerly asked as she grabbed an album filled with photos of wedding cakes that she’d asked from the bakery who’d made her wedding cake. “Which one do you want? And how many tiers do you want it to be?” Clarabelle moved the magazine aside so Ella could place the album on her lap. She began checking each cake and reading the label placed next to each photo. “Earl grey sounds lovely,” said Ella, pointing out a cake on the right side of the page. “Or maybe chocolate fudge. That sounds lovely too. We can perhaps have it with white frosting or pale blue to match your dress.” “Darlings.” Damon dramatically sighed. “This is an easy question. You should stick to the most delicious cake in existence. Coffee and cognac. Keep it elegant, keep it tasty.” He stuck his forefinger and thumb together then kissed them like a chef. “No, thank you. I think I’ll stick to my favorite cake. Red velvet,” said Clara with a frown. “I’ve tasted coffee and cognac during Ella’s wed

“Remember that it’s all about you, Darling,” said Damon with an exaggerating wave of his hand that made both Clara and Ella giggle. “You are the center of everything that day. Everything else should be a blur but you should be the only thing that’s crystal clear in everyone’s mind.” Clara shook her head, covering her face with both hands. “Gosh, you’re being way too much.” “It wouldn’t be Dee if he isn’t being too much,” commented Ella with a grin, teasing her best friend. She moved her gaze back to Clara and smiled. “But I have to say that he’s right, Clara. You should be the center of the event. So have you decided on your wedding theme yet?” “You guys are killing me,” said Clarabelle with a loud sigh. She brought her hands down and stared at the wedding magazines on her lap. Even though every girl had a vision of their wedding and how they wanted it to be, Clara had forgotten all about hers when she’d started her company. She’d thought of her company as her baby and that she was

Hélène d’aureville had turned Draven Summers into a softie and he didn’t like it. Not even one bit. “Yes, I am fine, Mum.” He glanced at the door and frowned. Suddenly he felt annoyed that his sister’s boyfriend had not come out of there and it had been more than twenty minutes. “Let me knock on the door.” With determination, he approached the door, and then without even knocking on the door or giving any warning, he swung that door open. “Sister!” Draven greeted the two lovebirds loud enough for the neighboring rooms to hear. “Mum and Dad are here to see you. And of course, your fiancé.” He opened the door wider and held it so both of their parents could walk inside. Much to Draven’s dismay, his sister and her lover weren’t making out. They were at a polite distance. She was on the bed while he was sitting on the chair next to her bed. The atmosphere was different too, it was not as hot and bothered as it had been about half an hour ago. It seemed that they had been having a convers
