This Is The End

It was the morning.

Alarick opened his eyes one after the other to the sound of the knock on his door. He grumbled as he rubbed his eyes, he tried to shake off the remaining sleep and wipe his blurry eyes.

He stood up from the bed and stretched, before making his way to the door, he wondered who could be at his at that hour of the day, it was still so early and be couldn’t tell who could be there. He no longer allows the maids to take his bath for him so he couldn’t tell.

As Alarick got to the door and reach for the doorknob, a realization struck him and he came to a halt.

“Thank Goodness,” he murmured.

Alarick quickly turned back and he rushed to the floor where the chain he used to bound himself during the midnight takeover was. He heaved out a sigh of relief as he took the chain from the floor and secretly packed it away, making sure that no one would suspect what had happened during the night. He didn’t know who was at the door and it was relief
