Colton leaned on a massive marble wall, waiting for Lissie to come out. His dark features remained visible, and Lissie was stunned to see the man outside the comfort room. She did not anticipate Colton would comfort her too soon.
Colton did not let Lissie pass. He saw Lissie make a face when her eyes set at the cigarette he was holding. Colton dropped it down, stepped on it before gazing back at Lissie.
“Lissie Jones,” he called her name with a swirling emotion. Desperation, and longing flashed in his eyes.
Ignoring him, Lissie threw a disposable tissue near her. She doesn't want to have a conversation or engagement with Colton. Thinking and seeing him only reminds her of the painful past she had with her ex-husband. There's no way she'd throw herself to his nightmare den again.
As Lissie attempted to pass by, Colton grabbed her hand. He pushed her a little towards the marble wall. “Release me all at once. This is not something an engaged person should do. Cornering a woman?” Lissie affirmed nonchalantly, and scoffed.
Colton's stares at her remained nonchalant, regal, and ballistic. Despite his imposing frame, Lissie remained stoic. “Get off.” She gave him a warning yet Colton pretends he's deaf.
“Don't you have anything to say to me?” His affirmation was stone-still.
Lissie Jones scoffed, resentment flashed in her eyes. “And what exactly should I say to you? We have no business to discuss with, Mr. Vistagra!” Her initial response provoked the man even more. His demeanor took a drastic change, his calm stares turned into a hard, ballistic, and stoic one.
“I’ve been looking for you for five fucking years!” He blurted out, holding his glamorous ex-wife’s arm. His clenched consolidated, making Lissie hurt from his tight grip.
Despite relentless effort finding his beloved ex-wife, Lissie successfully hid beyond his reach. He never found her, he never found out whether she's pregnant or not. The accident occured at 31st Fort Liberty Bridge made a drastic change in his life. Colton has never been the same.
Her sarcastic chuckle echoed. “Why? Do you need my blood to save your mistress… oh, I meant fiancé! She's your fiancé now, not your mistress. Ah, my silly little mouth.” She affirmed, covering her mouth with a class.
Colton's eyes darkened. Lissie addressing Andy as his fiancé seemed to provoke him more rather than Lissie calling Andy his mistress.
“Lissie!”
Lissie clicked her tongue. “I don't know what's gotten into you, Colton. Now spare me from this nonsense and let me pass! I don't want to engage in any conversation with you!” She shot back, urging herself to leave yet Colton won't just let her pass.
She couldn't, wouldn't, forget that Colton was once willing to trade their unborn child's life for a woman— for his mistress. Hatred filled up in Lissie's eyes, she wanted to slap him right now but Lissie held her ground. “Can't you just back off?”
Colton did not speak. His eyes remained stoic, icy and off track.
“I gotta say I'm shocked, curious as to where you got the bone marrow implant to save your darling's life. Back then, it’s me and our child who paid the price for the life of your mistress, Colton.” She affirmed bitterly, with a sweet plastic smile on her face. Later on, Lissie scoffed. “Such a pity though. Still alive and kicking.” She mocked.
“Enough, Lissie!” He retorted back.
It made Lissie stunned. Between then, she should be the one who's mad at his unloyalty. Now, Colton is turning the tables!
“Calm down, I was just talking to myself. Did you get offended?” Lissie asserted in a mocking way. “Deserved.”
Lissie thinks Colton doesn't seem to be happy now that she's alive. He has never been.
Complex emotions swirled inside Colton. He didn't know Lissie could be this confident and defiant.
Before the argument could turn into a huge mess, Lissie was relieved the moment Louis came to fetch her. He looked distressed, he did not anticipate for the two to interact so soon. Lissie felt the upcoming tension so she went to where Louis was.
“We should go home now, Lisse.” Louis affirmed, holding the woman's back in a gentle way making Colton bite his lower lip.
Back then, he's the only person who touched her like that. Now, his place has been replaced by someone else now.
“Mom was calling and she couldn't reach you. She prepared some dinner for us to celebrate your success.” Louis gave her a soft smile. “Hurry, babe. She's looking for us. The party is already over.”
As they are about to leave, Colton trailed the two with his cold voice. “Is he your new man?”
Lissie took a deep breath before swerving around and faced Colton. “Correction, Mr. Vistagra. He's not just my man. He's my husband.”
Colton Vistagra was too stunned to speak. “Your new husband?” Surprise flows in his tone.
His head spun, struggling to take her declamations. Her words echoed in his mind, each repetition added fury to his fire.
Only a scoff Lissie retorted. She believed she had nothing to explain to him. She doesn't owe him anything anyway, why would she delay from leaving and make Colton understand? Only a foolish and stupid person will do that.
As the two were about to leave, Colton ceased them the second time around. He held onto her wrist tight, almost crashing her arm making Lissie squirm and Louis attentive.
“Repeat what you said.” He blatantly urged Lissie to comply.
Lissie forcefully took her hands off him and grunted. “He's my husband! What in my word you can't understand?!”
For a moment, Colton's eyes darkened. It was different from how it was a couple of minutes ago. “Do you freaking understand what you're saying?”
“Should I repeat myself again thrice? You heard me correctly. I don't owe you anything now stop bothering me!”
Before Colton could fire back, Louis Brown immediately took over and spoke. “You're taking half of our time, Mr. Vistagra. I believe we have nothing to explain. My wife is tired. If you excuse us…”
Colton Vistagra watched how her ex-wife left with a man. He was holding Lissie's hand, intertwined. For a moment, he felt disgust and anger toward Louis. It should be his place, he should be the one taking her home and sleeping with but now… it's Louis Brown taking care of his ex-wife.
Regret resurfaced within Colton's shell.
The exposition ended when his clerical assistant found him, and the two just left, leaving Colton alone, speechless. “I've been looking for you, Mr. Vistagra,” Homer Saltouen affirmed when he saw his boss stone-still. “The car is ready. We're set to leave.” Over the last three years, only a few knew what life Colton had and that includes his secretary, Homer. Since the accident occured three years ago at 31st Fort Liberty Bridge, Colton became more distanced and closed off. None of his family can closely talk to him past five minutes. “I need you to investigate something for me,” Colton affirmed coldly. “Take me all the information throughout the three years Lissie disappeared.” He demanded with a stern undertone. “Copy, sir.” The name Bellissima Victoryn doesn't ring a bell. The brilliant fashion and clothing brand had sent ripples to the fashion industry. Each fashion of a person increased, from timid to fierce, from neat to slay outfits. All because of Lissie's hit designs, a
Louis dropped Lissie at Enclaves Harbor, alone inside the vast residence. The night made her drained the moment she woke up in the morning. Lissie prepared her breakfast, and whilst she's in the midst of driving, Lissie's phone rang. Louis' name registered as the caller. Lissie hurriedly and picked up the call. “What’s up?” Lissie affirmed whilst driving. “I've been calling since 7 o’ clock in the morning,” Louis' voice sounded stoic. “Have you seen the news?” “Oh, I'm sorry. I was busy earlier. What happened?” Louis took a deep breath. “I think you should—” Louis failed to complete his sentence when a car bumped at Lissie's limited edition Lamborghini. Fortunately, Lissie was wearing her seatbelt, protecting her from getting any injury. Good thing, she's just driving at a moderate speed. If she goes any faster, surely she'd die. But indeed, people were right. Fortune favors the brave. Glancing beyond the windshield, Lissie's eyes set at a limousine that weighs a million-dollar
The dead air inside circulates around the car. Lissie's breathing hitched as Colton's nasty stares remained on her. In response, Colton lit up a cigarette inside his car, deliberately irritating Lissie's nose. “Are you happy now that you've annoyed the sh*t out of me?” Lissie asserted in an annoyed voice. Frustrated, Lissie pushed the driver seat a little using her right foot whilst fixing the button on her top. A sly smirk appeared in Colton's face. He seemed proud of himself. He opened the window a little and threw the cigarette away. “Give me all the relevant information you have for Louis. Make sure to delete all the copies otherwise—” She was cut off shut when Colton leaned a little closer near her. “Otherwise what?” Lissie was stunned momentarily. Seconds later, Lissie pushed Colton's shoulders off him with an annoyed look. She boldly took out a tooth pick she accidentally saw inside her purse. A playful smile crept on Colton's face, teasing Lissie with a menacing look. “
The blazing fury of the sun bore down her head. The intensifying heat gave her a headache. Colton's threatening, nasty words echoed in her mind, repeatedly flashing Louis’ deepest secret. A sleek BMW pulled over. The door swung open and a woman polished with her luxurious clothes stepped out. Andy Moore, cloaked in her limited edition YSL dress whilst holding her small baguette bag, took off her oversized sunglasses. “Mind spending five minutes with me Lissie?’” Andy inquired, slipping her sunglasses inside the pocket of her coat. Lissie clenched her jaw, the wind oozed and the strands of her hair had been blown by the wind. Lissie hoisted her hands and fixed the strands that came off the border. “I don't want to waste my time with you. We have nothing to talk about.” Lissie attempted to retreat, urging to leave the scene but Andy's harsh words caught her off guard. “I know you showed up yesterday to make me a laughingstock! Really? You claimed the spotlight that should've be
Louis dwells on accompanying Lissie. His mind is not at peace given what happened earlier in the morning. Louis didn't want him out of his sight, it makes him anxious each time he’s thinking of her. A small chuckle comes out her lips. Lissie reassured him, “Relax, Louis. I'm fine, okay? No goons will randomly show up to ruin my day again.” “You're not sure, Lissie. You can't just disregard this thing. Being with Colton Vistagra isn't safe.” He said with his warmth voice with a little touch of warning. “How about I'll handle your grandma's death? Just go back and—” Lissie didn't let Louis finish. “This is my own affair, Louis. I appreciate your help but I suggest you focus on yours and I'll do the same thing.” Lissie affirmed, showing him her huge smile. A tense situation inclined the two. He clearly doesn't understand the bond Lissie shared with her grandma. Loraine Jones loved Lissie all her life. She was the one who raised her, and taught her many things in life. All the wisd
The door creaked open and an astounding figure from Lissie Jones made Colton Vistagra drift his eyes on her. He put his pen down, along with shutting his computer the moment she came inside. Bearing her icy glares, Lissie narrowed her eyes at him.“It's a surprise you came here,” Colton smirked. “How may I help you?”Lissie made a sound. She clicked her tongue before scoffing. “Are you in the middle of doing something with Andy?” She inquired. Colton raised his eyebrow. “Andy and I—” before he could finish his statement, Lissie cut him off. “I want to ask you something,” Lissie affirmed— disregarding the topic about Andy. She doesn't care about her, why would she exert an energy to tackle Andy? However, the importance of Andy in Colton's life made Lissie realize it. Colton can't hide the annoyance in his face due to Lissie's quick change of behavior. She's far from the Lissie he once married five years ago. Her charm evolved into becoming more regal, ballistic, and her icy indiffe
She chuckled, a little disgusted at the sign of his audacity. “You still hold the face of someone who has no shame, Colton.” She disgustingly affirmed. “I did nothing wrong yet, but you demand answers. I believe that's fair.” Colton asserted in a gentle way. Lissie Jones held her ground. She took a deep breath, closing her eyes before nodding her head. “Tell me, what conditions do you need for you to answer my questions?” Challenging Lissie's rising temper, Colton said, “Break up with Louis Brown. End your marriage with him if possible. Sign a divorce paper and move back with me to Brook Canyon Residence.” ‘I knew it. This man really has no shame!’ Hearing Colton's condition made Lissie speechless. She was at least taken aback. She didn't think his request would be too much. Brook Canyon Residence was once called home for Lissie and Colton. They stayed at the residence while being a married couple for years. However, thinking it was indeed a ‘home’ for them made Lissie feel hilario
‘Friendship? How ironic! Indeed, she has the face of an iron fist. Thick just like how it is.’ Lissie thought. Her grip on her bag tightened, resisting herself on bursting out and making a scene. Well, it's not her cup of tea. For her, Lissie would rather tease her enemy. Well, indeed you can't buy a class using money. Twisting her hands, Lissie stroked her hair using her fingers before speaking. “I don't know where the fuck did you find the guts to talk about friendship now. For your information, it sailed a few years ago.” She sneered, skimming Andy's face. “What should I expect from someone like you though? Our family seems to be great at providing welfare for ungrateful members who are dishonest and betraying members.” Lissie affirmed, making Andy Moore clenched her fist. A mocking smirk crept on her lips. Lissie made an exit, denying Andy a chance for rebuttal. She started the engine of her Ferrari, leaving Andy under the shadow of her limited edition Rolls Royce she probably
Lissie was extremely flabbergasted. Before Lissie could pull her thoughts, Christian pushed through his words— cutting the woman's freedom to speak. “I'll be brutally honest. I'm not in my best condition. My time is running out and I might say goodbye anytime but before that happens, I want to be with you.” “Grandpa, I…”“I've endured too much pain since I lost you, sweetheart. I don't think I could suffer another pain again if you divorce my grandson. All I want is to be happy, for our home to attain happiness filled with life and laughter.” His words exactly stabbed Lissie straight to her heart. She was taken aback. Lissie struggled to convey her protest because she doesn't want to disappoint her grandpa nor make him sad. She loves him so much! Old Mr. Vistagta held Lissie's hand. “I know it's such a big request. Your future is on the line,” he affirmed. “But the idea of you leaving my household breaks my heart. Besides, you're the only lady of the mansion I only want. Freeing yo
It was hard for Lissie to sleep inside her room. Memories lingers in her mind like bumping cars outside the street. She was just staring blankly at the ceiling with her eyes widened. Her body is tired but her spirit is still awake. Minutes later, familiarizing herself back to her old room, Lissie fell into a deep slumber. Her body adjusted, it was far different from her bed in her unit but she's comfortable enough to fall asleep. The next day, old Mr. Vistagra and his grandson Colton shared the dining table together, eating the breakfast Cindy and the housekeeper prepared. “This salad is good for you. Mind you, I woke up early to give you this.” Cindy affirmed whilst getting a small scoop for Christian. Behind them was Kaleb, who was teary-eyed seeing Christian and Colton are back at the same spot again. “It's glad to see you joining breakfast after five years, Mr. Vistagra. I'm glad you're back.” Kaleb greeted him with compassion in his voice. Lissie's absences for the past few
There was a dead atmosphere at the Vistagra's dining area. The place was filled with silence but the tension with each family member was high. Old Mr. Vistagra hasn't attended casual dinners for a long time now which led them into an awkward position. What made everyone quiet as well was because of Colton's abrupt appearance. Cindy didn't like the atmosphere so she pretended to be happy and offered the briskets to the sick old man. “Why don't you try it? I followed the recipe through the procedures in the book our ancestors provided, Christian.” She affirmed with her head high, confident that people inside will like it. “Isn't this also your favorite Lissie?” Lissie's eyes went to her ex mother in law. She wiped her mouth using the table napkin before forcing a flat smile. “Yes.” Cindy put a small portion on her plate. Colton and Callie had their eyes on their mom. The darkness and stern in his eyes didn't vanish. Instead, he was just observing the way Lissie talked with his grandf
Hearing Kaleb's words made Lissie's heart melt. Indeed, the old man treated her like his own family and granddaughter. Christian Vistagra made everything possible for Lissie when she was still living with them. The old man was Lissie's protector from the cunning Vistagta household. “Where is he?” Lissie couldn't contain her emotions asking those questions to her. Kaleb gave him a smile. “I will escort you to his room Mrs. Vistagra.” Kaleb led her the way to his chamber. She wiped the tears that escaped her eyes. As much as possible, Lissie didn't want the old man to see her crying. She wasn't the same old, and weak Lissie anymore, rather, she should be the lion everyone should be afraid of. The huge door opened. Kaleb let her inside until her eyes set to the old man who's sitting at his bed whilst wearing his eyeglasses. He had a newspaper in his hand until the door swung open. “Grandpa…” Lissie's voice was shaking. Hearing Lissie's voice, the old man tried to stand up and give L
Just like the old times, the Vistagra residence remained lavish in her eyes. Nothing changed. It was still the same lucrative mansion built in the middle of a vast land owned by the Vistagra family. The fine marbles used were still intact. The American structured house has been well maintained for years as it was built during the 1890's. The manor remained classic, and the wow effect is still there despite being centuries old. The car’s door swung open and Lissie stepped out. She took her sunglasses off before nibbling her lower lip. The cold wind oozes her skin, as her hair has been blown by the wind. Being at the same residence she once called home feels nostalgic. All the sad memories she once tried to swing away from her mind came back. ‘Ah. What a painful comeback.’ Lissie told herself in her mind. Callie held her hand. “Let's go inside and surprise Grandpa!” She excitedly affirmed then pulled her ex sis in law inside. Her heart was screaming in pain. She was trying to forget
