ALLISON.
The room fell silent, the weight of his words hanging heavily in the air. I could feel my heart racing, caught between disbelief and a strange thrill. Why is my heart beating like this? Is it because of the way he looked at me? The brief brush of his fingertips against my skin? Or maybe those molten golden eyes, sparking the memories of the Howling Night?
I swallowed hard as fragments of that night crashed into my mind, vivid and overwhelming…
I remembered the way we’d collided in a haze of laughter and adrenaline, my body pressing against his as he pulled me closer. His lips had been warm and demanding, moving over mine with an urgency that sent shivers down my spine. His tongue whipping inside my mouth while his fingers stroke my nipples, pinching it until I moan.
“Ahh!” I remember moaning when I couldn’t handle the pleasure he brings.
“Damn. Your body is trembling with my touch, darling. Did I make you that horny?” his hot breath caressed my neck, chuckling as his lips find their way to my twin peaks.
I could still feel the heat of his breath, the taste of him—like wild nights and untamed passion.
Images flooded back: his hands roaming, fingers tangling in my hair, his lips trailing down my neck, igniting a fire within me. The way he’d held me—possessively—while the world around us blurred into oblivion. My senses were overwhelmed, and for a moment, I’d forgotten everything but him.
Suddenly, I felt a presence looming over me, pulling me from the depths of that intoxicating memory and bringing me back to the present. Liam leaned closer, his breath warm against my ear. “What was that look in your face? Did you remember something fun?” he whispered playfully. “Perhaps an exciting memory from the Howling Night?” he added, teasing.
“I-I don’t know what you’re talking about!” I hissed, trying to avoid his gaze.
“Don’t play dumb, darling. I know you recognized me.” He leaned closer and took a deep breath, inhaling my scent. “Because I haven’t forgotten about you; your scent, the sound of your voice, and the softness of your lips.”
My cheeks flushed red at his sensual whispers, his hot breath waking up foreign sensations within me.
“I’ve been looking for you for two weeks,” he whispered playfully, each word sending shivers down my spine. “Now that I’ve found you, I won’t let you slip out of my grasp again—and oh, I always get what I want one way or another.”
With that, he straightened, the playful glint in his eyes fading slightly, and he turned to face everyone in the room. Quinn and the rest of my packmates looked bewildered after watching Liam whispering something to me.
“My condition is ironclad, Alpha Quinn. I will only allow this alliance to happen if you give me what I want and, in this case, this woman is what I want…”
“Maybe, we can find another common ground to—”
Liam cut Quinn off, his gaze cold as ice. “I won’t be negotiating with anything else. I already told you what I want and it’s up to you whether you’ll agree to my demands or not. Give me the girl, otherwise, forget about this alliance.”
“Wait—” I started, but the door clicked shut behind him, leaving a heavy silence in his wake.
“You’ve gotta be kidding me! He’s seriously just gonna leave like that?” Nick exclaimed in disbelief.
Elliot, Liam’s Beta, stepped forward, his expression serious. “My Alpha is serious about his condition. You have one week to decide. The fate of the alliance hinges on this,” he declared before leaving the room as well.
His words hung in the air like an ominous warning, and I felt a wave of fear and anxiety wash over me. That wasn’t just a negotiation—that was a blatant power play. Damn that Liam!
Silence ensued after that. Everyone was speechless. Quinn and Emily exchanged looks as if they were trying to process what just happened. I shook my head, refusing to believe the condition that Liam laid out on us. This got to be a freaking nightmare!
Quinn’ brows furrowed as she leaned in and whispered to me, “What just happened? Why is the Alpha of Moon Stone pack suddenly obsessed with you?”
“I don’t know. My guess is that he’s just a jerk,” I replied. There’s no way I’m gonna tell her about what happened at the Howling Night!
“I think the rumors were true. Liam Miller is an Alpha with some loose crews,” I said through gritted teeth.
“Crazy or not, we need him and his pack,” Gasper commented.
“What are you trying to say, Gasper?” Emily said, her tone demanding. “Don’t tell me you’re taking his words seriously?”
“And why not? Sure, he’s a jerk but he’s still the Alpha of one of the most powerful pack in Missouri. Besides, they’re the nearest pack in our territory. They’ll make a great ally when shit goes to worse,” Gasper retorted, crossing his arm.
“Gasper’s right. The only important thing is ensuring this alliance takes place. If it means offering Allison to the Moon Stone Pack, so be it. Let’s just toss her to the bloodhound and get it over with,” Latisha said, shrugging her shoulders.
Her words struck me like a slap. “Are you fucking with me? I’m not just some offering that you can wrap and trade!” I shot back, my voice trembling with anger.
“Calm down, Allison!” Quinn said, trying to intervene.
“How can I calm down when she’s clearly trying to sell my off like I’m a freaking swine in the market!” I growled.
“You’re just making this unreasonably hard, Allison. Think about it, you’re a mateless she-wolf, so it wouldn’t hurt if you jump over the fence and play with Liam Miller for the meantime,” Latisha spat.
“Yes, I’m mateless but that doesn’t make me expendable!” I hollered, my fury boiling over. I didn’t know much about Liam beyond those fleeting, hazy memories, but I was certain of one thing: I would not be treated like a pawn in someone else’s game. Heck, I don’t even know what exactly Liam Miller wanted from me!
Gasper let out a frustrated sigh. “You should just submit to whatever demands they have. It’s the best thing you can do for the pack.”
“Enough!” Emily stepped in, her voice sharp and commanding. “We’re not throwing anyone under the bus. We’re a pack—a family for goddess’ sake!”
“Well, the family you’re talking about is in grave danger unless this alliance take place,” Latisha fired back, crossing her arms.
This bitch!
I could feel my heart pounding in my chest. I didn’t want to be a bargaining chip in a deal I didn’t understand, and the thought of Liam’s possessive claim sent shivers of both fear and something else—something intoxicating—through me.
“I need some air,” I said hoarsely as I turned away from the group.
“Allison—!” Quinn’s voice faded in the air as I stormed out of the room. She was calling my name but I ignored her. I didn’t care. One more second in that room and I swear I’d lose my shit. I needed some time away from them.
Once outside, the cool breeze enveloped me, soothing my heated skin. I wandered aimlessly through the woods, desperate to clear my mind. This has always been my safe haven since I was a kid. There’s just something about nature that provides a sense of tranquility that I desperately need during stressful situations… like this one.
Eventually, I reached my go-to spot: a serene lake nestled among the trees. The water shimmered under the late afternoon sun, inviting me to forget my worries.
I was just about to take off my clothes when my eyes caught an unexpected sight—someone was already swimming in the lake. It was a man! His muscular body glided effortlessly through the water. My gaze traced the contours of his body, half-naked and glistening under the sun. Damn!
As he turned, our eyes locked. My jaw dropped in recognition—shit! It was one of the guys I had spent that fateful night with during the festival. The memory of our encounter flickered through my mind, but before I could react, the man swiftly turned around as if he has sensed something behind him. His striking amber eyes immediately found me and I stood there, frozen in shock.
“I knew I smelled a familiar scent. It was you,” he said, a broad smile spreading across his face.
Holy shit.
ALLISON.I couldn’t breathe as I watched the man bathing in the lake, his gorgeous pare of amber orbs looking at me as if I’m the only one he could see right now. His platinum hair danced in the wind, catching the sunlight like spun silver. The man looked absolutely dashing as the water dripped from his sculpted body, glistening against the golden ray of the setting sun. He looked as angelic as the last time I saw him. Holy shit. I can’t be mistaken; this was one of the guys that I slept with during the Howling Night! Is this the goddess’ way of messing with me?“I can’t believe my luck,” the man said, amusement evident in his voice. “I didn’t expect to see you here!”The man stared at me in total disbelief as if I was a walking—floating miracle in the lake! He started to approach and I gasped as lake’s surface, the only thing that was covering his body, slowly slipped out of his waist, revealing his naked glory.“Oh goddess! Can you put your freaking clothes on?!” I said, panicking.
ALLISON.The rustling grew louder, and I could barely breathe, my senses on high alert. I glanced up at Daniel, whose expression was focused, his forehead creased in deep concentration.“Stay still,” he instructed softly, his eyes never leaving the source of the noise.Cold sweats boiled on my forehead as the tension thickened in the air. Whatever was approaching, it was close—and we had no idea what it was.The rustling in the bushes grew more frantic, and just when I braced myself for something terrifying to leap out, a small white rabbit dashed out. It paused momentarily, looking back at me with curious eyes before hopping away, leaving me both stunned and a little sheepish.A rabbit?I couldn’t help but chuckle, the fear I was feeling melting away. “Goodness, it was just a rabbit, after all!” I exclaimed and pulled away from Daniel’s grasp. I felt silly for getting scared over a cute animal that almost resembled my childhood stuffed toy.I chuckled and stood up to approach the cut
ALLISON.My eyes flickered in crimson red as my sharp claws protrude from my fingers, ready to attack the unfamiliar man. But Daniel quickly grabbed my hand, stopping me. I turned to him in surprise and he gave me a calm smile.“It’s okay, Allison. I know him,” he said.“You know him?”“That’s Sam, my Beta,” Daniel explained before releasing my hand.Oh. I turned to the man again. He looked around the same age as Daniel and his aura exuded of authority and strength. Yup. That’s definitely a Beta. I let out a sigh of relief and revert back to my human form, my claws retracting and my eyes fading back to its hazel shade.“Sam!” Daniel enthusiastically called his Beta.Sam approached Daniel; his steps urgent. “Alpha, we have to get back to the pack. We need to discuss the result of the investigation,” he announced. Sam’s eyes briefly brushed over me before swiftly turning back to his Alpha.“Right. I’ll be there in a minute,” Daniel said.“No, we need you to return to the pack. Right now
ALLISON.“Cursed? Quinn, what are you talking about?” I asked in confusion.Quinn struggled to reply, her eyes fluttering as if every part of her body was ready to shut down. She opened her mouth, but no sound came out. Panic surged through me as I watched my cousin—my Alpha—reduced to this fragile state. I’ve never seen her this weak in my life, not even when we were kids! Quinn was a warrior, a fierce leader, a champion in every sense. Seeing her like this made my heart ache; it felt surreal, as if I had fallen into a nightmare from which I couldn’t wake up.“Please, Quinn… wake up. Don’t die on me like this. Quinn!” I begged as tears threatened to fall from my eyes.Just then, the bathroom door swung open, and Anna, one of the maids, rushed in, her widened in horror when she saw Quinn’s condition. “Alpha!” she exclaimed, dropping to her knees beside Quinn.Without hesitation, Anna helped Quinn to her feet, guiding her back to the bed. I watched in a daze as Anna expertly cleaned up
ALLISON.10 years ago…The night erupted in chaos as the Flower Moon Pack was plunged into a nightmarish hell. Shadows flitted across the grounds, illuminated by flickering flames, while growls and shouts echoed ominously in the air. My skin crawled in fear. Are we going to die?Quinn was tightly holding my hand as we stealthily move along the burning houses, trying to find our brothers. Sullivan burst through the fray, his face etched with urgency as he found us amidst the chaos. “Allison! Quinn!” he called.“Sullivan! What’s happening?” I asked, my heart racing.“Get back! We’re under attack! You both need to hide. Now!” he ordered. “But how about you? Your arm is bleeding!” I exclaimed din panic. Sullivan was a strong man, he was even dubbed as the “untouchable warrior”. The fact that he has an injured arm right now meant that the enemies were far more dangerous than we thought.“Don’t think about me, Alli. You have to take Quinn and hide. More enemies are bound to come. You two n
ALLISON.When I was younger, I recalled my father asking me to what lengths I was willing to go to save the people that I love. I thought it was a very obvious question with a very obvious answer. I remember saying…“I would die for the people I love,” I boldly declared, equaling the challenge in my father’s gaze. I was merely seven years old at that time, a pup, and the youngest of the Young family. My older brother, Sullivan, chuckled at my answer, his gaze locked on the river as he patiently waited for a fish to take the bait. Dad took us fishing that day, but I found myself more captivated by the colorful rocks scattered along the river and the fragrant blanket of grass spread out across the clearing.“Die for love? Yeah, right. You’d probably just run off and chase butterflies instead,” Sullivan teased.“Shut up, Sully!” I laughed, skipping over to him. The grass felt cool beneath my bare feet, and the sun warmed my back. I twirled in a circle, my hair flying out behind me like a
ALLISON.He examined it closely before nodding. “You’re good. Welcome to Aurora Sparks.”I stepped past them, entering the underground club. The atmosphere was electric; pulsing music reverberated through the air, mixed with laughter and chatter. Colorful lights flickered, casting shadows over a crowd of werewolves, vampires, ghouls, witches, and other Outworlders. It was the complete opposite of the tranquility that welcomed me at the entrance of the antique bookstore. Welcome to Aurora Sparks, indeed. This club has been around for decades. It was one of the few remaining establishments in the entire country where the Outworlders were allowed to be themselves—utter freaks. Our kind has struggled to blend into human society for centuries, that’s why having a place like this felt like a treat to all of us.The dance floor thrummed with energy, while private booths hugged the walls, draped in velvet. The scent of exotic drinks filled my senses, and I felt a surge of excitement. This was
ALLISON.“Get her!” the perverted guy yelled, charging at me.I sidestepped just in time, letting him crash into the bar. “Nice try!” I shot back.Damn. This wasn’t what I had in mind when I booked a ticket to Chicago.Another one lunged at me from the left. I ducked and landed a punch to his gut. He wheezed, stumbling back. “You think you can take me, big boy?” I taunted. The thought of going against five men at once was frightening. But I guess I got scared for nothing. These men couldn’t land a punch to save their lives. I have underestimated myself again, I always forget that I’m the third-in-command in our pack.“Get her down!” one of them shouted, and suddenly they were all coming at me.I pivoted, kicking the nearest guy in the knee. He went down with a yelp. “That’s one,” I muttered, scanning for my next target. The guy who’d kissed my cheek lunged again, trying to grab my arm. I twisted free, slamming my elbow into his face. “You really should’ve known better before you decid
ALLISON.Hudson tossed the machete back into the car and grabbed my arm firmly. “My Alpha can handle them. Marcus and Ethan could take on the rest. Oh, and we also have good ol’ Victor here. He’s not only a decent driver, he fights good too. Now, you and me need to get out of here. You’re not safe here. Now move.”Hudson nodded at the two other werewolves, Ethan and Marcus, that were with us in the car and the ghoul driver, Victor. They were also fighting off the other rogues, trying to create a way for Hudson and me to escape. The limo was useless with its blown tire, so Hudson’s eyes landed on one of the rogues’ motorcycles. He ran to it, pulling a rogue off and pounding his fist to his face, knocking him down. What a brute! Hudson cocked an eyebrow at the unconscious rogue on the ground before stole his bike, swinging a leg over the seat like it was meant to be his.“Hop on!”“What? I don’t know how to ride that thing!” I stammered.“Good thing you don’t have to. Yet. Now, come her
ALLISON.Shit. This wasn’t how I expected my return trip to Missouri to be like. I instinctively clutched my stomach. Normally, I would be down for a fight. But it’s different now. I’m pregnant and I need to prioritize my baby’s safety above all.“This is why I like to stay in Chicago,” River muttered under his breath. He sounded both bored and utterly disappointed. Two of the rogues began to pound on the limo’s window which made me jolt. The look on their faces told me that they weren’t joking earlier. They were really going to drag us out of this car if we didn’t get out soon. The tension in the limousine was suffocating. My hands were clenched so tightly on my lap that my nails dug into my palms. Damn it. The rogues circled us like vultures, their growling motorcycles revving ominously as if to intimidate us. Honestly, they looked more like a biker gang than actual rogue werewolves. Maybe, it was their twisted way of blending into human society. Not that it made them look less thre
ALLISON.River cocked a brow and offered me a plate of cheese cuts and salami.“Don’t mind if I do,” I muttered, reaching for a slice of salami.Delicious.River watched me intently as I ate, his smirk softening into something almost… tender. “You’re making that look delicious,” he murmured, a teasing glint in his eye.I felt myself blushing as I fumbled for another piece. “It’s just salami, River,” I mumbled, suddenly self-conscious under his gaze.Hudson’s eyes sparkled with amusement. “I’ll be honest,” he said, leaning back with a smirk. “I’m shocked you managed to convince our Alpha here to get involved. He’s usually pretty reclusive, you know. If I’d known he could breathe outside Chicago, I’d have bet money against it.”What’s the use of his private jet if he didn’t really travel much out of Chicago, anyway?Hudson was looking at me like I was an amusing sight. “I knew you were something when I first met you at the club looking for the Warlock Alpha. But I guess you’re even more
ALLISON.“Are you all packed?” River asked me the next day. We’re set to go back to Missouri today so he came dropped by the Green residence to pick me up.Miraculously, Mason didn’t try to kill him this time. I guess our little talk yesterday helped him calm down a bit. Life was peaceful when I didn’t have three Alphas who were actively trying to rip each other’s throats.“I don’t really have anything to pack. The only thing I came here with was a silver bullet buried in my body,” I said which was true. Mason provided me some clothes that I wore for the past days that I stayed here but they weren’t originally mine. Melissa said that they were new clothes that Mason’s personal shopper bought for me but I couldn’t bring myself to claim that it was mine.“In that case, let’s get a move on before that viper decides to bomb my jet,” River said and I nodded my head. We walked to the great expanse of the golden-plated hallways leading to the main foyer.River offered that we use his private
ALLISON.I felt my pulse quicken. “If you knew who I was… why’d you let me get close? Why let me…?” I trailed off, too flustered to finish the sentence. I gave this man a freaking lap dance because I thought I was doing a good job as a spy! I thought I was distracting him but it turned out he was having his own damn show!A ghost of a smirk played on his lips. “Because I wanted to feel you again. I’ve been craving your touch since the Howling Night. I hated it but I also desperately crave for it.”I swallowed hard. My cheeks flushed red in embarrassment.“I brought you here because I knew I’d never forgive myself if I something bad happen to you that night. I knew I’d never be able to sleep again if I couldn’t save you. But when you woke up, the first thing you did was to demand to get out of here.” His voice grew hard, his jaw clenched. “To what? Just to meet with the very same bastard who put you in danger in the first place! How can you easily brushed me off while you desperately l
ALLISON.“W-We don’t know that yet,” I stammered as I felt the heat rushed to my cheeks.“I know.” Wesley smiled and kissed my forehead. My heart skipped a beat. “But that doesn’t mean you can get rid of me, Allison.”Wesley Morgan, the charming man that you are.He smiled as he twirled my hair with his fingers. "If you plan to talk with Mason next, you can check the library. He'd probably there.""You seem to know him a lot. Are you two friends?"Come to think of it, Mason even told Wesley that he'd found me. The viper seemed comfortable sharing information with him.Wesley chuckled. "Worse. We're cousins.""What?""Yeah, our grandfathers are brothers, so that makes him my third degree cousin," Wesley replied. Now, that's news. I didn't know that the infamous Mason Green descended from the legendary Morgan bloodline."Go on. I know you needed to talk to him too."Following Wesley's suggestion, I went to the library and he was right. Mason Green was there, settled on a plush couch whi
ALLISON.“Don’t try to sweet talk me now. You’re an Alpha and not just any Alpha—a Morgan at that. You wouldn’t come all the way here without getting anything in return. Just say what you really want from me and let’s get this over with,” I said.Wesley held my gaze for a few seconds before he heaved a sigh. “You’re sharp, I’d give you that.” He placed the glass on a table and turned to me. “Allison, what happened during the Howling Night was one for the books, that’s for sure. But I didn’t expect that I’d meet you again, especially after you ditched us the next morning…”My face flushed red as I remembered how I frantically scrambled out of the room that morning. Well, there was no way I could face the five men after all the freaky things we did the previous night.“We didn’t get to know your name or any of your whereabouts. I thought that would be the end of it until Mason called me four days ago, telling me that he’d found you. That you’re unconscious in his mansion and he wasn’t s
ALLISON."Look, you know that the fragment is the only thing that can save my cousin. You know how bad her curse is. You said you’d help me. So now I’m here, asking for it. Give me another task in exchange for that. If you want, I will track down those vampires who stole the Mollagona filed. I’d do it.”River looked at me for a moment, his gaze unreadable. For a second, he didn’t speak, and I could feel the weight of his silence pressing down. The way he kept everything locked inside. He didn’t like giving things away. He didn’t care about people like that. He knew damn well how to drive people crazy in times like this!“Let’s get something straight, Allison,” River began in a low voice, his tone almost bored. “You think I’m some kind of monster who only cares about what’s convenient for me?”I didn’t flinch. “I think you’re a businessman. You don’t do things for free.”Didn’t he make that pretty clear when I met him at his club? His jaw tightened slightly, though the rest of him rema
ALLISON.Alphas were, to say the least, stubborn creatures. They lived according to their own rules and they won’t do something unless they get to do it in their own terms. Alphas were the epitome of authority—the top of the Lycan food chain. They love to talk shit but they would never tolerate any insult directed to them. So, I wasn’t shock that our supposedly peaceful breakfast turned out like this…“I dare you say that again, you fucking miserable prick!” Mason lunged at River, shoving off some of the plates and silverwares as he angrily grabbed him across the table.Damn! These Alphas were driving me nuts!River let out a humorless cackle as he effortlessly brushed off Mason’s grip. “I said Allison shouldn’t stay with a brute like you. Who knows how many vampires you’re hiding in this goddamn hellhole?”Mason gritted his teeth, fury burning in his eyes. “You should mince your words while you’re in my turf, Perez or I swear I’ll rip your motherfucking jaw off,” he warned in a guttu
