As Ava drove through the lonely roads, her mind went back to what transpired in the garage. She laughed and shook her head, she truly was crazy. How do you suddenly have feelings for a man you have never come across before.
She laughed happily while she drove slowly home. She just turned twenty-three today and she was a twin. She grew up with a loving family and she was the good one between her and her sister. Avery was the opposite of Ava, while Ava was quiet and peaceful, Avery was loud and always got into trouble. Their family was a small one consisting of their grandparents, their mom and the twins. They never had a father figure, he left after the twins were born.
Ava had always been the one who was contented with the little she had. They were poor but she was contented with it. Avery was the opposite, she ran after rich men and gave them her body just to have a taste of wealth even if it was just for a few weeks. They were always complaining about Avery and her hunger for wealth, she would do anything just to get a few bucks. She was desperate, rude and didn't have regards for anyone.
Ava stared at the contact the man had given her and she made a promise to call him when she got home. Why was she acting this way? For a person she barely knew. She had never had a boyfriend but all of a sudden she's daring to do that which is impossible.
What if Mr. Nathan doesn't accept her? What if she gets rejected even before she makes a move? There's no harm in giving it a try.
...
When she got home, she met her family in the living room all waiting for her to come back home."Ava! Where have you been? We've been waiting for you. The guests got tired of waiting and left."
Her mother was angry and was yelling at the top of her voice disturbing the neighborhood.
Damnit! She had forgotten about the birthday party.
"Carolina calm down. Maybe she was stuck in traffic and.." her grandma who was quite supportive of her spoke on her behalf. Ava mouthed a thank you.
"Mama, don't tell me to calm down. She missed her birthday party, againnnnnn. Argh, I'm off to bed. Good night."
"Way to go Ava. You made my birthday party a disaster. I hate you."
Avery spoke angrily and stormed upstairs to her room. She just stood there weak in the knees and kept staring at the stairs.
"Don't worry about your mother, I will talk to her myself. Now, come give grandma a hug."
She embraced the old lady who was sitting on her wheel chair and exchanged pleasantries with the old man who unperturbed, was going through the newspaper in his hands.
"How was my daughter's day at work?"
"It was fine grandma. Alot of stuffs happened, guess who I ran into today at the grocery store?"
"Who? You know I'm not good at guessing."
The women's happy chattering was heard in the dark night.A car parked outside and kept watch. He took out his cell phone and called his boss."Sir Nathan, yes. Yes she's home safely. Alright sir."
Nathan hanged up and took a sip of wine. He could still hear Ashley cries from the torture room in the mansion. She was disturbing everyone's sleep with her screams. Nelson was definitely enjoying it, this would serve as a lesson to other staffs. He has been staring at his phone expecting a call from the young Miss at the garage but still there was no call. The moment his phone rang, he had jumped up immediately and reached out for it only to find out it was his chauffeur calling. He had asked him to follow Ava and make sure she got home safely. Why he had done that, he doesn't know but he feels drawn to her. There was this connection he felt when he threw a gaze her way and even though he didn't get a clear view of her face, he knew she was pretty.
Pretty? He was Nathan Lewis, he had seen more pretty girls but why does she affect him so much? Maybe because she looked innocent and..
Why was he explaining why he wanted her? Never had he felt this way for a woman he barely knows. He had never being in any serious relationship. He believed love doesn't exist at least not in this part of the world. His first love broke him and left him with a scar which never healed. He still thinks of her every single day and that alone motivated him to work harder so that no woman would be able to talk at him like he was nothing.
He met Caryn in college and they got along quite well. They became the best of friends and it was obvious they were into each other. Nathan was the shy one and he couldn't bring his self to tell her he wanted them to be more than friends. Besides he was poor, his mother could barely afford his fees. Caryn came from a very wealthy family and the few times he had been to their house, her parents made it clear he wasn't the type of man they would want for their daughter. He wasn't their daughter's class.
'Now who isn't your class Caryn? Definitely not me.'
He was right. She was definitely not his class at the moment because her family went bankrupt few years ago and came begging him to give them a loan. He sent them away reminding them the exact words they said.
"You are not her class, Nathan."
He has been restless since then, he thought his success would bring happiness but he still thinks of her. She has been trying to come back into his life but he turned her down several times. He's been a playboy ever since. He just dates for the fun of it, not cause he's interested in the person. Besides all this girls want is his money, and that's why he resorted to contract relationship. He spends on you whenever you're out with him but he never gives you money. He made an exception with Camille's case, he had to pay her off.The cold, lonely, ruthless Nathan Lewis. He laid in bed and closed his eyes whispering "goodnight Caryn, wherever you are. I'm sorry I couldn't help you. I'm still bitter about what your family did to us."
"Good morning Avery", Ava had just woken up and met her sister in the kitchen preparing coffee. She yawned and stretched her body. It had been a long night and she couldn't remember falling asleep. It was a beautiful morning and today was her day off. She got a job recently as a sales attendant in a grocery store. She had always wished to be a model. She had the perfect body for it but getting recognized as a top model in the country requires a lot of connection or money. They had none, they could barely afford the electricity bills. Avery was the least concerned about their family's predicament but Ava tried her best to support in whatever way she could. Sometime in the past, Ava had to keep two jobs just so she could help pay the bills. They didn't go up to the college level because their mom couldn't afford the fees but they were very brilliant. Ava had always dreamt of becoming a medical doctor someday. A doctor who's also well known in the modelling industry. If wishes were
"Girls who are we talking about? Mind to share?"That came as a shock and they both sat upright. They were not expecting their Grandma to be awake by that time and God knows how long she's been there, listening to their conversation. "Good morning, Grandma",they both chorused as they stood up to help the old lady. She moved in with ease on her wheelchair and smiled at the before giving a reply. "Good morning Avery, good morning my dear Aviva."Unlike the rest, she was fond of calling Ava by her full name, Aviva. Everyone else addressed her as Ava even at her workplace. Everyone one in the house was more fond of Ava because she was the good one. Avery was known for her blabbing and rude behaviour, although there's still some good in her. "Grandma, want some coffee?", Avery asked trying so hard to act like a good girl and not get on anyone's nerve this morning. "No, thank you. Aviva will make my favorite tea for me" she replied grinning widely showing her once-perfe
"I'm your next contracted girlfriend, Mr. Nathan" Nathan was shocked to his bones, what kind of courage does she have? He remained silent for a while not because he didn't want to say anything but because he was speechless and couldn't find the right words. She caught him off guard but still he was hell bent on making it difficult for her. He wanted to know for how long she would keep chasing him. "Hello? Mr. Nathan... Are you there?", Ava took a glance at her phone to see if he had hung up on her again, relieved, she called out again staring at her grandma and sister who were cheering her on. "It's fine if you don't want to say a word. But listen carefully to me, whether or not you accept me, I will keep trying to get you." "Go girl, yess that's the spirit", her grandma whispered. Nathan scoffed. Get me? Not that easy girl. "I'm sorry Miss. I might have to turn you down cause you're definitely not the type of girl I want." Ava was stung by his words
Like Dean said, this should be his time to make things right. He paused for a second to make a final decision. If he agreed to this, he would be stuck with her for a while, there's no harm in trying something new. Ava was thinking she was in for another disappointment. She was about to give up again but her grandma gestured to her to keep calm and hear him out. "Alright... It's a deal Miss Ava, you have ninety days to impress me." "Really? Really? Thank you Mr. Nathan, I promise you won't regret it." Ava was beaming with smiles and her grandma knew he had accepted. "Make sure I don't Ava. I will send you the address. My chauffeur will come pick you up by 6pm." And with that he hung up, "wait, you didn't even ask for my addre..", she sighed and stared at her grandma with those puppy eyes. "He hung up again, grandma but I got what I want.." "Yes dear, I'm sure he knows your address already. That's why he didn't ask for it. Congrats girllll" She smi
"Someone's in a good mood. Tell me, how did it go?, Dean asked the moment Nathan descended the stairs.Nathan was putting on a red hoodie and he looked handsome as always. "Well we took the first step..I invited her over.." "You did it man. I'm super proud of you."Nathan fell silent for a while before he spoke up again. "Dean in as much as I like this girl, I wouldn't want to show it yet so I don't get hurt at the end of the day. I gave her ninety days to impress me. We will be in a contract relationship for three months." "I get it and I got you, whatever you decide to do, just know I got your back."Nathan smiled, of course he got his back. Dean was one genuine friend he had. The only person he could entrust his life and company with. "Who would be going for her? The chauffeur? Did you ask for her address?" Nathan smiled deceptively. He was an old boy in the game. "You son of a bitch, you mean you were stalking her already?", Dean threw a pillow on the sofa a
Elegant, beautiful, modest... That was everything she saw in the mirror. She was stunned by her own reflection. Never for once did she think she would look this pretty. Her delicate dainty figure on a dress that showed off her curves. Her brown eyes, well curved lips, her black hair... Everything was pretty about her. Avery applied finishing touches and Ava swirled in front of the full length mirror. "You look pretty, pumpkin", that was her mom's first remark when she stepped into her room. She smiled revealing her perfect dentition and mouthed a "Thank you momma".Everything was all set now but she couldn't stop swirling. It was too good to be true, she looked completely different. All this beauty was hidden behind the unattractive clothes she could afford. "And here I thought you wouldn't be comfortable on heels."Before she could say anything else, a call came in. She stared at the unknown caller for some time before answering the phone. "Miss Ava, we are outside your house. A
She stared into his hazel eyes; they were spell-binding. She was lost in them and she fought hard to gulp. She stared at him one last time before placing her hand in his. He gave a little smile, few seconds ago he had been scared of her rejecting to touch him. Ava smiled deep down although she acted tough on the outside. Dean turned around to wink at him.. He was doing a perfect job. "So the girl who was flirting with me right in front of you, is your sister?", He threw the question at her while staring at her fingers. Ava swallowed hard and wished this cup would be taken away from her. She had hoped he wouldn't bring it up but then he did. After a few seconds of battling with her tongue, she finally found her voice and spoke in a very low tone. "Yes, she's my twin sister actually. Her name is Avery." His grip on her tightened a little, he stared at her straight in the eye and with the most sexy, enchanting tone, he uttered "What's your name?" 'Huh? What
"Ava.... Ava? We are here.." She heard a deep, husky, sexy, masculine voice say. She was still sleepy and could barely recognize where they were. "Avery, leave me alone. I need to sleep, it's my day off remember?", She spoke half awake. Nathan couldn't resist the urge to smile at her. She looked so innocent while asleep and also she had such a nice voice. "Ava? Would you prefer to sleep here in the car or we should get down this moment?", He spoke again stroking her hair while she blinked several times trying to figure out what was going on. The moment she realized, she jerked up and immediately adjusted herself. She was shocked she actually fell asleep and in his arms!!! Ava! How could you sleep off? She reprimanded herself in her head. What would he be thinking about her? Nathan was hurt by the way she reacted. He wanted to reach out and touch her hair one more time but he felt she wasn't comfortable with him. He shrugged the feeling off and was about to ge
[ Warning! This Chapter Contains Mature Content Not Suitable For Young Readers.] He gently unzipped my dress and the gown fell to ground. His gaze was causing more bad than good. It made me crave him more. I stepped out of it, our gaze still locked. In the past one second, Nathan has stared at my body in awe countless times. And here I was in the middle of some airplane, half naked with just my panties on. What if someone walked in? “ I will go change now. Hey, stop staring at me like that. It makes me want you more.. you have to promise to be a good boy and behave. We will have all the time in the world to worship each other's body when we are off this airplane.” “ I never said I planned to be a good boy, Aviva. Maybe I was but I changed my mind the moment I saw your smoking hot body. I really can't promise to keep my hands to myself, princess.” And he was being honest. I could make out the hunger in his voice as he spoke. I had starved this man
Hi, lovelies, I'm so excited to be back. I took a break but now, I'm are back fully. I'm so sorry for the delay. Ava and Nathan's love story is about to end.. We have just a chapter or two more to go.. And also for this last part of the book, I will be making use of the first person POV. Enjoy!! ***** “ Do you, Aviva Alexander, take Nathan Lewis to be your lawfully wedded husband?” Silence. The buzzing hall was now as silent as a graveyard. I'm sure you could hear just how loud one's heart pounded if you listened keenly. I smiled at Nathan, he had tears running freely down his face. Today, he dropped the “ Strong, arrogant CEO who doesn't give a fuck about anyone” and in it's stead, was a handsome young man who was capable of loving someone. In him I saw someone who was tamed to love, someone who doesn't know just how much love he's capable of giving because he has never given it a try. “ Uhm, I don't know if you noticed fluffy bear, but they are a
“ Nathan!” What was she doing here? It's a modeling audition for crying out loud. Nathan and Aviva folded their arms and watched her yell and whine about him being married. “ Caryn, can you slow down? By the way, who's married to you?” he asked and all eyes were fixed on them. This would serve as good entertainment while the judges were away tabulating the scores. “ Nathan Lewis, I will not have you humiliate me this way. I won't! Now, get up and let's go home.” she ordered like some boss who was passing out instructions to her employees. “ I'm not going anywhere, just yet Caryn. You can either have your seat and enjoy the show or you can choose to leave. Whichever works for you, my lady.” “ Are you being serious here? You're doing all this because of this, this ugly, classless girl? Are you not ashamed being seen with her? I'm pretty disappointed in you, Nathan. We have sophisticated, elegant and smart ladies in this city but you choose to chea
Modeling Audition, Semi-final & final. “ Nervous? I believe you will do perfectly well. You scaled through the last round remember? You will get through this also. We are rooting for you, Aviva.” “ Oh my goodness, this is the first time I have ever heard you say something positive. Thank you so much, Avery. I love you so much..” “ Girls, they are about to start. Come over.” Alex called out. Avery stared at her sister, she was grateful she had everyone back. They held hands and walked into the hall which was filled to the brim with people. Luckily, Alex had been able to secure seats for them all. “ Good day, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the semi finals/ finals. We are pleased to see you all. After the first round, hundred people were screened out and only twenty were qualified to move on to the next stage.” “ Well, only five people will be taken from this round to go on to the final round where we will pick only two persons. B
“ Mom. I got the money and narrowly escaped death. Someone else has been framed for stealing the money.” she informed her mom on phone and the lady went hysterical. “ You got it? That's my girl. You're just like your mom, Caryn. I'm so proud of you, darling.” “ Thank you mom. I will transfer half of the money to Dad's account. I want his company to be back on its feet for good.” “ Alright love. Your father sends his regards. One more thing Caryn, be careful out there.” “ I will. I love you, I have to go now.” They were outside, with ears glued on her door. They had heard it all, but Nathan beckoned on them to follow him. They tiptoed, to avoid being heard. “ Now that we have gotten concrete evidence, what do we do next?” Hazel interrogated. “ We will let her keep the money. I'm gathering a lot of evidence and by the end of the day, she would be left with nothing. All she stole right now, is the alimony I'm supposed to pay a
“ What's going on?” There was absolute silence. If a pin had fell down, there was every certainty it would be heard. She walked in and met her beloved family in a state of distraught. She was sure they had heard the news already. “ Nathan honey, what is it? Why are you all seated there like some bunch of robots? Talk to me, somebody.” if there was one thing she was good at, it was pretense. She threw her shoes on the floor and rested her head on the couch. If they were not going to talk, then she would let them be. It was difficult to breathe as she felt a sharp pain around her neck. No one had expected it, not even Caryn herself. Nathan held her tightly around her neck, his fingers tightened every second, and his nails dug deeper into her skin. It wouldn't be long before she started bleeding. “ What are you doing, Nathan? Put her down!” Dean yelled but Nathan was no longer in control. He was infuriated and couldn't even hide it. “ N
The dim light in the room made it a bit easy to see. These days she kept her curtains closed and the lamp, off. Today, she felt switching on a candle would be better. She had been in bed all day, doing nothing but mope. Her door moved slowly, and the dim light barely made it easy to see the lady's face. The woman who had birthed her, but now, it felt like they were two strangers meeting for the first time. Lina had walked in, without the tiniest courtesy of knocking. Ever since the issues with Ava, her family treated her like a complete outcast, her dad not excluded. They avoided her like a plague. The only activity that brought them together as a family, was eating at the dinning table. On most days, she would have her meal upstairs in her room. She decided to tag along to Ava's audition, not because she was invited but she felt like going. Rolling her eyes and heaving a deep sigh, she rolled to the other end of the bed. Her back was turned to Carolina,
Now he knew why Dean made that prayer yesterday. He knew she was a bad cook but he didn't think it would be this bad. What happened last night was a mistake that would never repeat itself. Penne pasta with vodka sauce and some parmesan cheese. After the funny but useful prayer from Dean, they all grabbed their cutleries and proceeded to feast on the meal she had made. Dean went first and spat it out the moment it got into his mouth. “ Hell nah, I'm not doing this. I'm not doing this with y'all, I will ask the maid to make me something.” “ But it's really not that bad, Dean. Just close your eyes and chew quickly. Caryn you are such a good cook, no doubts.” Hazel spoke, forcing a spoonful of poison into her mouth. “ Do you like it? I did well, right?” she asked innocently. Nathan nodded, they all nodded. Hazel made Dean take a few more spoons of the terrible concoction she made. And for a sec, they had initially thought it wouldn't be as bad as
“ Why does the room look like someone went through our things.” he inquired after taking a thorough look around the room. Something wasn't right, the drawers had items sticking out. The wardrobe wasn't properly closed, the pillows were wrongly arranged and the bed looked like someone had jumped on them. With a smile of deceit, she rubbed her palms and walked closer. Nervously, she asked. “ What do you mean?” her voice was shaky and her heart was pounding so loudly. “ I mean..” but on second thoughts, there was really no need to engage her in a conversation or questions her, knowing fully well she would deny ever searching for only God knows what, thereby turning the house into a mess. “ Nothing. Hazel is home, she lost her baby. I thought you should know.” he said with his gaze fixed on nothing in particular. “ Poor little thing. I will go check on her later, she must be feeling so sad at the moment.” Playing along, he replied.“ Yeah, she
