Chapter 2: Runaway From The Pack

Jenna and Logan continued to work together to keep Logan's true identity a secret, and they grew closer every day. They spent their days exploring Shadowbrook and learning more about each other.

As they walked through the woods one day, Logan stopped suddenly and sniffed the air. "Do you smell that?" he asked.

Jenna sniffed the air and shook her head. "I don't smell anything."

Logan's eyes narrowed as he looked around. "It's a werewolf," he said. "One of my own kind."

Jenna's heart skipped a beat. She had never met another werewolf before, and she wasn't sure what to expect.

As they walked deeper into the woods, they came across a clearing where they saw a group of werewolves standing. One of them stepped forward, a tall, muscular man with piercing blue eyes.

"Logan," the man said. "We've been looking for you."

Logan tensed up, and Jenna could feel the tension rising between them. "What do you want, Marcus?" Logan asked.

Marcus sneered at Logan. "You know why we're here," he said. "You've been hiding for far too long. It's time for you to join us."

Logan shook his head. "I won't join you, Marcus. I've been hiding for a reason."

Marcus chuckled. "You think you can run from your true nature forever? You're a werewolf, Logan. It's time to embrace it."

Logan growled and stepped forward, his fists clenched. "I won't join you, Marcus. I won't be a part of your violence and destruction."

Marcus's eyes narrowed. "You will join us, Logan. Or you will suffer the consequences."

Jenna stepped forward, her heart racing. "Leave him alone," she said firmly. "Logan doesn't want to join you, and he shouldn't have to."

Marcus turned to Jenna, his eyes filled with disdain. "Who are you to tell us what to do?" he asked.

"I'm Jenna," she said. "And I'm not afraid of you."

Marcus sneered at her. "You should be," he said. "You have no idea what we're capable of."

Jenna stood her ground, her eyes locked with Marcus's. She could feel Logan's eyes on her, and she knew that he was proud of her for standing up for him.

"I won't let you hurt Logan," Jenna said. "I'll do whatever it takes to protect him."

Marcus chuckled. "You're just a human," he said. "You have no power against us."

Jenna's eyes narrowed. "I may be just a human, but I won't stand by and let you harm Logan. I love him, and I'll do whatever it takes to protect him."

Marcus's sneer turned into a look of surprise. "Love?" he asked while giggling.

"A human and a werewolf can't love each other."

Jenna's heart pounded in her chest. She knew that she and Logan were breaking the ancient feud by being together, but she didn't care. She loved Logan, and she wasn't afraid to stand up for him.

"We can love each other," Jenna said. "And we will."

Marcus looked at Logan, his eyes filled with disgust. "You're a traitor," he said. "You've chosen a witch trying to be a human over your own kind."

Logan growled and stepped forward, his fists clenched.

~Flashback~

It was a cold, clear night, and the full moon shone brightly in the sky. Marcus, the leader of the werewolf pack, stood at the edge of the forest, watching as Logan and the other members of the pack chased after a deer. The pack was in their wolf form, and their howls filled the night air.

Suddenly, a loud shot rang out, and the deer fell to the ground, a bullet wound in its side. The pack members scattered, but Logan stopped and turned back to the hunter. He shifted back to his human form, confronting the hunter.

"What are you doing here? This is our territory," Logan shouted, furious.

The hunter, a human, sneered at Logan. "I'll hunt wherever I please," he said. "You animals don't own this land."

Logan's anger was boiling over, lunged at the hunter. The hunter quickly pulled out a gun, but Logan was too fast. He knocked the gun out of the hunter's hand and pinned him to the ground.

Marcus, who had been watching from the edge of the forest, stepped out and came to Logan's side. "What's going on here?" he asked, his eyes narrowed.

"This human was hunting in our territory," Logan said through gritted teeth.

Marcus looked at the hunter, and his lip curled in disgust. "You're lucky that Logan didn't kill you," he said to the hunter. "You'll leave and never come back, or you'll face the full wrath of the pack."

The hunter nodded, fear in his eyes. He quickly gathered his things and ran off into the night.

As the hunter's car disappeared in the distance, Marcus turned to Logan. "You acted without thinking," he said. "You could have been killed, and you put the entire pack at risk."

Logan looked at Marcus, anger still in his eyes. "I had to protect our territory," he said.

Marcus shook his head. "We have to be careful," he said. "We can't let emotions cloud our judgment."

Logan looked away, still fuming. He knew that Marcus was right, but he couldn't shake the anger that the hunter had caused.

"We'll talk more about this later," Marcus said. "For now, let's shift back and hunt. We have to stick together and protect our pack."

Logan nodded, and the pack shifted back into their wolf form, following Marcus deeper into the forest.

"I've chosen love over hatred," Logan said firmly. "I won't join you, Marcus. I won't be a part of your violence and evil pack."

Marcus sneered at Logan. "You'll regret this," he said. "You may have chosen a human, but you'll always be a werewolf. And we'll always come for you."

Marcus's eyes widened in shock and anger. "You'll pay for your treachery," he said. "You'll both pay."

Jenna knew that Marcus would not back down easily. She knew that they had to be ready for a fight. She stood beside Logan, her heart racing, but her determination stronger than ever.

"We're not afraid of you," Jenna said firmly. "You will not hurt us or anyone else we love. "
