Hailey's POV.

I sat at my desk, nervously tapping my pencil against my notebook. The incident at the library weighed heavily on my mind. I knew I had been unfair to Brielle, but the anger and frustration had clouded my judgment. Now, as I was waiting for the inevitable retaliation, my stomach churned with anxiety.

The classroom buzzed with the usual pre-lesson chatter. I glanced around, trying to gauge Brielle's mood. Brielle sat a few rows ahead, her posture tense as she scribbled notes. I couldn't shake the feeling that Brielle was planning something.

During the break, I decided to confront Brielle. She approached her desk, her heart racing. "Brielle, can we talk?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady.

Brielle looked up, her eyes cold and calculating. "What do you want, Hailey?" she replied, her tone icy.

"I just want to apologize for what happened at the library," I said, feeling a lump form in my throat. "I know I was wrong, and I'm sorry."
