It's been about 2 weeks since the incident and Kion has been behaving strangely. At first I thought he would submit to me completely but he has been behaving adamant and suspicious of me. Well, I can't really say I blame him since the Duke's only beloved daughter took him in like some kind of pet.

Much to Kyra's displeasure it took longer than expected to make Kion trust her fully. She had to play the role of a little girl being head over heels for him to perfection. But it wasn't going smoothly at first because he was suspicious of her intentions. But after a lot of effort he had finally succumbed to her and she hoped he would remain convinced that she had indeed fallen deeply in love with him.

Today was a day like every other. Kyra woke up and was attended to by her maids as usual. At breakfast with her family, everyone seemed oddly quiet. She could understand why her strict father wasn't speaking but her brother, Franc and her mother were too quiet. She did all she could to liven up the atmosphere but it remained awkwardly silent.

"Honey, I can't take it anymore. I think we need to get rid of that child," her mother said as she swirled the wine inside of her glass.

"Kyra adores him and he has been learning a bit of swordmanship from the estate knights so what exactly is the problem, my dear?" her father retorted.

Kyra's ears perked up because she knew exactly who they were talking about. She may have come from 10 years in the future but her memories during her early childhood were not that vivid, so there were a few issues with Kion misbehaving and getting under her mother's skin from time to time. You could practically say that all the servants liked him and it began to irk her mother more because even her only daughter liked him as well. Franc on the other hand didn't really seem to be bothered by the child.

"I just have a bad feeling about this. I've even asked the workers and that boy has been working for us for barely a year and no one can seem to tell me how he even started working at the estate to begin with," her mother said.

"My dear, it seems you are trying your best to ensure I end up with indigestion this morning. If you dislike the young lad so much, then give me a better reason to get rid of him," the Duke said coldly as he pushed his plate away from himself.

"But father, I really, really like Kion," Kyra said with gritted teeth and a sweet smile. She couldn't really remember why her mother didn't like Kion at some point, but she could recall that there would be a time where her mother started showing her hatred for him even more. She began to wonder if her mother might have found out that he was an illegitimate child between her husband and one of her maids from years ago. Kion was Kyra's age, just that she was a few months older than him. And worst of all, Kion had the same black hair as the Duke and her brother ,while she and her mother had silver hair. But it's not like the Duke is the only one in the entire kingdom or even the capital with black hair. The only family with such a unique trait found only in their bloodline would be the De Laton Duchy. Their ancestors all have golden blonde hair that actually looks like gold. I guess that must also be one of the many reasons why they are known as the De Laton Duchy of Gold. The main reason being the fact that they have enough gold mines to even rival that of the royal family.

"Kyra," her father said, "your birthday is coming up in just a month's time. I was thinking of throwing you a grander birthday party than the last and inviting the most high end nobles in the capital and their children. You ought to start making connections and preparing for your debutante even before you finish from the academy."

"Of course father, I would love that. Thank you very much. Will Kion be allowed to attend as well? As my escort perhaps, " Kyra asked with a sweet smile. She noticed the pause from her mother while her father showed no signs of being bothered and simply nodded.

She was watching him from a distance at the training grounds with a basket in hand. She had made it a habit of coming to watch him for a few minutes every training day. She would always bring a snack or a drink for him and dote on him so all the knights could see and be convinced that she was truly in love with him, even though she was quite young.

"Kion! Are you done with training?", she asked as she rushed over to him. He turned around and faced her and smiled as she approached.

"Yes, I am. You come here everyday Kyra. I'm sorry that you have to spend your precious time looking after a useless commoner like me even after you decided to take me in and show me so much kindness," he said.

"Oh! don't be like that. You know how much I like you, so spending a few minutes a day with you is never a waste. I brought a picnic basket with me today. Let's head over to the Rose garden and chat, I have very good news to tell you."

She grabbed his hand and pulled him along. They arrived at the spot that was already prepared for them as they sat and ate and laughed.

"You said you had good news for me. May I ask what it is?" Kion asked.

"Of course. You know that you're going to become the best swordsman one day right? And I'll be right by your side with you. So, my father wants to hold a ball for my coming birthday and I asked him for permission so you could be my escort ." She said while beaming from ear to ear.

"Are you sure that is what the young lady wants?" he asked her as his expression turned dim and he looked away. How sly of him to pretend to be sad when he would most likely be leaping for joy in his heart. She didn't say anything but simply assured him that he would be the best partner for her since she had chosen him herself.

"And since we are going to be together for a long time, I will give you something really 'special' when we make our debut together in the future. So you can be looking forward to that as well."

That gift would be the most perfect revenge she could ever give him and herself. Just you wait and see.

The weeks flew by in the blink of an eye. The preparations for Kyra's birthday kept everyone busy. There were dresses to be fitted for, etiquette classes to be attended and invitations to be sent. The Duchess really outdid herself in organising everything perfectly for that day. Everyone was looking forward to the little misses 10th birthday party. Nobles from all over the capital were invited. Even the royal family received an invitation so a lot of people would come even if it would be to catch a glimpse of the Prince's and Princess of the kingdom. She got ready and in no time guests started to arrive at the manor. There was live music and the hall was decorated to perfection. Immediately she stepped out of her room, she could see Kion a ways off, down the hall waiting for her. She stopped dead in her tracks as she got closer to him, as she couldn't help but stare at that handsome face. He really was handsome. No wonder she fell for him in her last life. "Is the outfit not to your l

It was hardwork, but her efforts were finally paying off. The maids and other workers in the manor were starting to open up to her little by little. It had been a few months and the rumors going round about the Tyrant Kyra, have been dialed down. She didn't blame them though, even she would have had a hard time believing that someone who was known to throw tantrums and bully maids just for fun would turn over a new leaf in such a short time. The best part was that with her new relationship with everyone, she could start gathering those who would be her people and know those who would support Kion later. The most trust worthy person was the maid who was with her when she first came back. Betty; she had completely stopped her trembling now and even treated Kyra so lovingly, almost like a little sister. And after she was made to be Kyra's personal maid, she was able to hear about a lot of rumors and get information from her. Yet, she wasn't satisfied, she needed a network outside of the

Three years had gone by.Kyra was a year away from enrolling at the academy just like her brother, when she remembered something important. The reason her brother wasn't able to succeed as the head of the family in her past life. It was when he had gone to the academy for his second year, and an incident occurred, causing him to be disabled, and the Duke would rather die than have a disabled person become head of the household. No matter how talented the person is or even if that person were to be his own son. Saving her brother and making sure he becomes head of the house would be another means of getting revenge against Kion.Kyra had built a closer relationship with her brother in this life but she wasn't sure if it was close enough that he would believe her and take her word for it if she was to warn him before hand. So, to build their trust, she predicted little things for him. Like telling him what attire she feels the Duchess would wear on a certain day, or what meal she feels w

It didn't take long for them to get her a magic tutor. And even though it was her second time at it, she was still not that good at using magic. For a descendant of the well known De Leta house of Mages, to not be good at magic. It was quite a big ordeal. It was one of the reasons she felt so inferior in her past life and ended up taking out her anger on anyone and everyone especially the saintess candidate . She found out that she was only adept at the theoretical aspects of magic. It was truly a shame since she had the De Leta blood flowing in her veins. Even when she enrolled at the academy, she was falling behind everyone else and she took out her frustration on those around her which caused her to be hated by her peers and added to the bad rap she got as a villainess. That reminded her again that there was someone she wasn't looking forward to seeing at the academy. There was going to be a girl by the name of Fiona who would also enrol at the academy under the Holy Church. She wa

From the information the Lotus guild had been providing her, before their enrolment, Kion and the 2nd Prince had met only 2 times outside of her 10th birthday , both meetings not holding much meaning to them. She couldn't help but smile as she read the notice. The Sparrow Club for nobles was hosting one of its meetings later that week, and new members were being encouraged to attend. It would simply look as though they were inviting new members, but reading the notice further, anyone with half a brain would be able to tell that they were talking to only nobles, and only nobles whose family's had high enough positions in high society. She had been keeping an eye out for this opportunity. There were a few people she needed to meet and establish good relations with them to further aid her revenge. Back at the academy, everyone was throwing a fit after finding out that three of their students had been kidnapped. And not just any ordinary students, but the only daughter of the De Leta house, the only son of the Laton house and the 1st Prince of the Balverich empire. The Headmaster let out a big sigh that could be heard by the Club president and his executives over the crystal ball used for communication. He had to keep things under wraps and find the kids quickly. Nothing like this had ever happened before. There were a lot of suspects as to who might have kidnapped the 1st prince, but none came to mind when it came to the De Leta villainess or the Golden heir. All hell could break loose if word got out about this, so the headmaster had already instructed that all students on the trip should be cut off from communicating with outsiders, especially their parents. The trip would have to be put on hold until the students were found. "Headmaster, what should we do?" the president as

He was losing a lot of blood and things were not looking good at all. He could hardly evade its attacks and counter-attacking was clearly not an option. The space was just too narrow. Carcel could only hope that Kyra had made it out of the alley safely and that Damien had taken her away to get help or something. He could no longer use his left hand and his right thigh was slashed and bleeding profusely. The thought of him dying crossed his mind and he smiled. He hadn't gotten the opportunity to confess his feelings more seriously yet. He couldn't die here. He blocked another attack when he heard Kyra scream from behind him. He turned around, forgetting that he had an opponent to face and got slashed in the back as well. He fell to his knees and gritted his teeth in pain. He had to save Kyra, was she unable to get to Damien? Were there two of the monsters? Why was no one coming to their aid even though they were making so much noise and the night market was not that far away

They were back at school, and she had her signed approval to go for the club trip. It was going to span over 5 days and that's because they were going to a neighbouring country and it would take almost 2 days just to get there, even by teleportation gates. Everything was going fine, Fiona was always with Kion, the 2nd Prince was always scowling whenever he saw her, Carcel was behaving like a lost puppy and Damien was avoiding her, most likely out of embarrassment at his bold move during the break. The day of their departure arrived and Kyra could not find her book. In case you're wondering, it's the same one she had written down events of her past life. Maybe she just could not remember where she put it or maybe because she was in a rush but she had no choice but to depart without it. She would just have to look for it more thoroughly later and she just hoped that nothing would happen since her being part of the Sparrow Club and going on their trip with them had not happened before.

'They' know? Who are they? Kyra was lost as to what he meant by saying that. And out of the blues nonetheless. She did not have much time to think about that though since she had to prepare for a more important event that was coming up. The club members would be going on a trip for the first time in a long while and worst of all, they were being accompanied by a very suspicious person. She had no recollection of who he was, but he was a teacher in the academy. She had seen him once or twice during club meetings and had assumed he once attended the school and was an alumnus of the Sparrow Club. He looked like a very normal person and a very cheerful teacher on the outside but she could not shake this uneasy feeling about him. The trip was going to be after their one week break, so for the mean time, Kyra planned on what to do with her break. It was meant to last for a week. And what a hectic week it turned out to be.
