Jason stood there, leaning against the doorframe, looking a little less drunk but still rumpled from the night. His hair was messy, and he was wearing a loose hoodie and gym shorts, his eyes a little hazy but focused directly on Chris.

“Jason?” Chris asked, surprised. “What are you doing here? You should be sleeping off all those drinks.”

Jason shrugged, looking slightly sheepish but still with that familiar smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. “Yeah, probably should be. But I couldn’t sleep.”

Chris blinked, still confused. “So… you came here?”

Jason nodded slowly, his gaze dropping for a second before meeting Chris’s eyes again. “I just... I don’t know. I didn’t want to be alone tonight.”

Chris’s heart skipped a beat. The way Jason said it—softly, almost vulnerable—wasn’t like his usual teasing self. There was something raw in his voice that made Chris’s chest tighten.
