Something was up with Kai. I could feel it but I couldn't just place what exactly it was.

I had held on to the thoughts of him finally acting like the arrogant prick he was. But he had been more distant and seemed to be avoiding me ever since he left my room speechless and forlorn that night.

I had admitted I didn't give a fuck about him, that I didn't love him and his face had become a mask of disappointment laced with heavy sobriety. He was the last person I expected to have such a reaction. His stoic stern face had fallen and looked so defeated and I could shake his face off my mind that night.

He hadn't desisted from the gentlemanly things he does for me. He still opened the car door for me, still sent my meal to my office at lunch, and made me the first one to enter the elevator. But his words with me were absent. He only gave curt replies when I asked him about anything.
